THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE CAN HELP INSPIRE A DIFFERENT EUROPEAN UNION

We should look to the example of Charlemagne, writes Peter Wilson

A portrait of German Chancellor Angela Merkel burns in Athens in 2013

Germany’s past casts a long shadow. Last summer, Greeks protesting against the stringent terms of the EU bailout brandished pictures of Angela Merkel sporting a Hitler moustache and a Nazi armband, with the swastika replaced by the euro sign.

Such images remain potent but they hinder real engagement with the questions of how Germany will use its current economic and political influence, and how far the EU can or should contain that power. For answers we should look back in time to when Germany was part of the Holy Roman Empire.

The empire scarcely seems worthy of discussion today. If it has any resonance at all, it is usually thanks to Voltaire’s quip that it was “neither holy, Roman nor an empire”. Founded by Charlemagne on Christmas Day 800, the empire appeared to go into decline almost immediately until being swept away as an obsolete irrelevance by Napoleon in 1806. In the words of James Madison, the fourth president of the US, the empire was “a nerveless body; incapable of regulating its own members; insecure against external dangers and agitated with unceasing fermentations in its own bowels.”

Knowing why the empire has been interpreted this way can help us to understand present-day Germany’s position in Europe, particularly its leading role within the EU.

The legacy of two world wars has encouraged those outside Germany to fear its leadership as potential hegemony but the history of the Holy Roman Empire reveals a time when Germany was part of a wider pacific order.

The negative interpretation of the empire rests on seeing it as a series of failed attempts to create a German nation state. In this version of history, a succession of monarchs tried to create central institutions capable of imposing a uniform system of rule, only to be thwarted by the selfish ambitions of petty German princes.

In fact, the empire was never simply “Germany”. It covered what is now Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, the Czech Republic, much of Italy, and parts of France and Poland.

Historians in all these countries found no use for the empire when they came to write their national stories in the 19th century. For them, like the Greek protesters, “empire” meant foreign domination.

Power was always multiple and plural. The management of daily life was devolved to more local powers

The imperial aspect of the empire is perhaps the hardest for us to grasp today, largely because we tend to conceive empire through the experience of European colonial power.

We expect empires to have a clear and stable core inhabited by an imperial people that imposes its will on peripheral regions. But the Holy Roman Empire had no core, because it never possessed a clear centre of government or even an official capital. Instead, power was always multiple and plural. The management of daily life was devolved to more local powers.

The most significant change across the centuries was not a progressive fragmentation of an originally centralised power, as previous generations of historians believed.

Rather, it was a gradual thickening of local power that drew its legitimacy from its relationship to the empire as a whole. Imperial charters and laws sanctioned local rights and liberties.

Additional layers were added over time in response to circumstances, most notably during the 16th and 17th centuries, when Protestants acquired the same legal safeguards as Roman Catholics.

Its inhabitants generally identified with it positively because it preserved their own autonomy and ways of life

However, long before this Jews had received protective rights which generally functioned better than those granted by monarchs in Europe’s more centralised kingdoms.

And it is here that we see most clearly what the empire can tell us about Europe’s possible future. Its inhabitants generally identified with it positively because it preserved their own autonomy and ways of life.

It cannot be a blueprint for today’s EU, because the social order which underpinned that local autonomy was also riddled with inequalities we would find abhorrent.

Yet it does suggest an alternative to the stark choice between the EU as a single, homogeneous superstate or fatally weakening Europe’s global position by fragmenting it into a mosaic of national states.

2016 POPE FRANCIS TO CHRISTIANS, ACCEPT COMING CHANGE OR FACE DEATH

1 Pope Francis 3:52 PM

Well if this are not words of Satan then what are they...!!!

The False Prophet Pope Francis has lost it again.

“Anyone who attempts to construe a personal view of God which conflicts with Church dogma must be burned without pity.”
– Pope Innocent III

That was a different Pope. His message was more direct than today. Back then, they didnt have Tweeter, Facebook and Bloggers who would reread and share the statement. But today, in a technologically advanced world, this Pope must watch his words carefully.

The Pope is expected to release a post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation within a few months. In it he is expected to decide on the question of Communion for divorced and remarried Catholics, and on the proposal to give bishops conferences doctrinal authority. Some observers also think the pope may address the question of homosexuality and language

An apostolic exhortation is a type of communication from the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. It encourages a community of people to undertake a particular activitybut does not define Church doctrine. It is considered lower in formal authority than apapal encyclical, but higher than other ecclesiastical letters, Apostolic Letters and Other Papal Writings.

Apostolic exhortations are commonly issued in response to a synod of bishops, in which case they are known as post-synodal apostolic exhortations.

Christians who obstinately maintain ‘it’s always been done this way,’ this is the path, this is the street—they sin: the sin of divination. It’s as if they went about by guessing: ‘What has been said and what doesn’t change is what’s important; what I hear—from myself and my closed heart—more than the Word of the Lord.’ Obstinacy is also the sin of idolatry: the Christian who is obstinate sins! The sin of idolatry. ‘And what is the way, Father?’ Open the heart to the Holy Spirit, discern what is the will of God.”

That is the translation of The Pope’s Homily of January 18th 2016.

The Pope is now issuing a warning that rejection of a coming change (which is not doctrinal-based on the bible) will be regarded as a sin of Divination.

The word divination comes from the Latin divinare, meaning “to foresee” or “to be inspired by a god.” To practice divination is to uncover hidden knowledge by supernatural means. It is associated with the occult and involves fortune-telling or soothsaying, as it used to be called.

He also calls it the sin of idolatry. Idolatry is the worship of an idol or a physical object as a representation of a god.

Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Whatever the change is, it is very big for the Pope to already issue a death warrant to anyone that rejects it. The Pope here has hinted that the change will be so huge that it’s rejection is tantamount to idolatry.

And we all might know the Catholic Church huge craving for idols, but their punishment for idolatry is ironically brutal. Check out here some 10 torture devices used by the same Church during the inquisition.

Whatever change that is coming, we all can agree it is going to be very big and of course, so not biblical.

But the bigger question is, should the people of God change? The second question would be, what kind of change is acceptable? Changing from an iphone to an android phone, OK. Changing from Saturday Sabbath to Sunday worship, NOT OK. Catch the drift?

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We are not to bring our standards to those of the world but we are to bring the standards of the world up to the standards of God.

Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Their should always be a distinct uncompromising difference between the Children of God and the Children of men. Even if the odds be like Elijah, 1 to 500, we are not to bow down.

MISS PUERTO RICO SUSPENDED OVER HER RESPONSE TO MICHAEL MOORE'S 'WE ARE ALL MUSLIM ' STUNT

Dec. 21, 2015 9:59am Jon Street

Miss Puerto Rico was suspended Saturday from representing the Miss America organization after issuing a series of tweets taking aim at filmmaker Michael Moore and, more broadly, Islam.

The Miss America organization announced that Destiny Vélez would be barred from representing the pageant because of her anti-Muslim comments, which were later deleted but not before social media users captured screenshots.

“@MMFlint Islamic god is not the same God of the Christians and the Jews,” a tweet issued from Vélez’s account read.

“@MMFlint There’s NO comparison between Jews, Christians and Muslims. Jews nor Christians have terrorizing agendas in their sacred books,” another read.

“@MMFlint hold a sign that says ‘We are all believers in Christ.’ Why are u defending Muslims that haven’t done nothing for the USA,” yet another read.

Véles referring to Moore’s stunt outside Trump Tower in New York when he held a sign saying, “We are all Muslim.”

The Miss Puerto Rico organization responded to the beauty queen’s comments not long afterward.

“In regards to Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Vélez’s, recent actions and conduct; the Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program,” the organization said. “Miss Velez’s actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely.”

According to the organization, Vélez later apologized for her remarks.

MALIK SHABAZZ CALLS ON CHARLESTON CROWD TO FINISH "MISSION" KILLING "SLAVE MASTERS"

24 juin 2015

VIDEO : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mri2ZtPosvU

In his speech, Malik Zulu Shabazz told the story of Vesey to the all-black crowd and discussed Vesey’s plan:

" Denmark Vesey had a plan to kill all the slave masters in the state. Denmark Vesey had a plan to kill every last one of them and kill all of their goddamn famlies."

(crowd applauds)

Then Shabazz turned to the events of today and told the audience:

" We’re out of Denmark Veseys. And we need some new Demark Veseys today. "

MILITANT BLACK MUSLIM LEADER CALS FOR  “WAR” AGAINST POLICE AND WHITES

By Onan Coca / 1 June 2015

Once again, the leader of the New Black Panther Party, Malik Zulu Shabazz, is making waves for some vile and explosive comments that he recently made on his “Black Power Radio” program.

The outspoken and violent man argued that police brutality in America had gone too far and that black communities must start defending themselves against the violence of white America – “by any means necessary.”

“We will defend ourselves as Malcolm said, ‘by any means necessary,’ and that the only option can not be non-violence... We have the right to defend ourselves with deadly force.”

“This is the new way of the future and this is what will be going on in the future. To hell with these conservatives, they want all these g**damn guns. They want all the guns and they don’t want us to have none. They are only jumping up and down because it ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun…

New environment going on in America. I notice that they shooting back all over America. So, police brutality is going to come to an end one way or another – or it’s just going to be a lot of dead bodies in the streets.”

There is so much wrong here that it’s hard to even know where to begin. Let me start with the least controversial of his points… 2nd Amendment rights. I have no idea where Shabazz gets his 2nd Amendment information, but we supporters of gun rights think that every American should have the ability to own firearms.

We protest the gun laws in Chicago and Washington, D.C as vociferously as we protest gun laws in rural Illinois and the farm country in California. Every law abiding citizen should have the right to defend themselves and their property from those who would do them harm. Black, white, brown, yellow, red or polka dotted, the 2nd Amendment should be colorblind and no 2nd Amendment organization is arguing otherwise.

We fight for the rights of every American to protect themselves, not just white people in the suburbs.

But it’s the violence that Shabazz seems to crave that stands out in his comments… isn’t it? Shabazz seems to be practically begging white America and the police across the nation to “up the ante” so that he and those he speaks to can feel vindicated when they respond with violence. It’s disturbing, disgusting and I believe it is a clear indicator that Shabazz himself is a violent and evil sociopath.

WHITE HOUSE : ISIS EXTERMINATION OF CHRISTIANS CAN'T BE CALLED GENOCIDE YET

The Obama administration says Islamic State’s persecution of Christian minorities in Iraq and Syria is not genocide. The point where it is accurate to term it as such “has not been reached,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said at a press briefing.

Asked whether Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) is practicing genocide in its extermination of Christians in Syria and Iraq, Earnest said: “My understanding is the use of that word involves a very specific legal determination that has at this point not been reached.

“We have long expressed our concerns with the tendency of – well, not a tendency – a tactic employed by ISIL to slaughter religious minorities in Iraq and in Syria,” he added.

‘They cut off heads': Syrians speak to RT about ISIS atrocities (VIDEO)

“But we have been quite candid and direct exactly about how ISIL’s tactics are worthy of the kind of international, robust response that the international community is leading. And those tactics include a willingness to target religious minorities, including Christians.”

The 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, says genocide is “acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group,” including by means of “killing members of the group.”

In March 2015, a report from the United Nations Committee on Human Rights stated: “The acts of violence [by IS in Iraq and Syria] perpetrated against civilians because of their affiliation or perceived affiliation to an ethnic or religious group … may constitute genocide.”

According to a European Parliament resolution adopted in April 2015, “Christians are the most persecuted religious group; whereas extremism and persecution of this nature is emerging as a significant factor in the growing phenomenon of mass migration; whereas according to data the number of Christians killed every year is more than 150,000.”

Last December, more than 60 British MPs signed a letter written by Rob Flello MP and Lord Alton. They urged Prime Minister David Cameron to work with the UN to ensure the word “genocide” be used to describe the systematic killing of minority groups, including Christians and Yazidis, throughout Iraq and Syria.

The ongoing persecution of Christian minorities in Syria and Iraq has seen their numbers drop dramatically. In Iraq, Christians are down to around 300,000 from about 1.4 million in 2003, according to 2015 estimates from a UK-based Catholic NGO. In Syria, there are now just 500,000 Christians, compared to over 1.25 million in 2011.

Christianity, the report states, is on course to disappear from Iraq potentially within five years, and could face the same fate in most Middle Eastern countries.

BOMBED, BURNED, AND URINATED ON : CHRUCHES UNDER ISLAM

Posted on March 6, 2016 by creeping

Muslim Persecution of Christians, January 2016

by Raymond Ibrahim
Muslim Attacks on Christian Churches

Iraq: The Islamic State blew up the country’s oldest Christian monastery, St. Elijah’s. The 27,000-square-foot building had stood near Mosul for 14 centuries. For several years, prior to 2009, U.S. soldiers protected and sometimes used the monastery as a chapel. “Our Christian history in Mosul is being barbarically leveled,” reported a Roman Catholic priest in Irbil. “We see it as an attempt to expel us from Iraq, [and] eliminating and finishing our existence in this land.” Yet, when Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for America’s military efforts against ISIS, was asked about the status of Christians in Iraq soon after the monastery’s destruction, he replied, “We’ve seen no specific evidence of a specific targeting toward Christians.”

Kosovo: Muslims urinated in an Orthodox Christian church in Pristina, the capital. Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic condemned the desecration of the Temple of Christ the Savior: “Urinating in a sanctuary is shameful, uncivilized, vandalism.” (Last year in Italy, Muslims broke a statue of the Virgin Mary and also urinated on it.) Stojanovic added that, “The quiet observation of the demonstrators by the police, as they entered the temple and urinated is also shameful.” Serbian [Christian] sanctuaries in Kosovo are constantly desecrated,” the deputy prime minister said.

Algeria: On January 7, unknown vandals damaged, robbed, and wrote jihadi slogans on a church. Furniture, ritual objects, and money worth about U.S. $8,000 was stolen from Light Church in Tizi-Ouzou, around 62 miles from Algiers. According to Pastor Mustapha Krireche, “Thieves broke into the inside of our church through the window, because we installed a reinforced door very hard to force open. … They took the music equipment like guitars, synthesizer, percussion, and sound equipment, plus a printer, the trunk of tithes, a sum of money, and other material.” The assailants left Islamic supremacist graffiti on the church walls including “Allah Akbar [“Allah is Greater”].” The church was targeted at least twice before: in 2009, “about 20 Islamist neighbors tried to block the congregation … from meeting for worship”; in 2010, a group of Muslims rampaged through the church building, trying to burn it down and damaging Bibles and a cross.

Kuwait: Lawmaker Ahmad Al-Azemi said that he and other MPs will reject an initially approved request to build churches because it “contradicts Islamic sharia laws.” He added that Islamic scholars are unanimous in banning the building of non-Muslim places of worship in the Arabian Peninsula.

Mongolia: Days after a church celebrated Christmas, explosives were thrown into the stove chimney of a Kazakh house-church. As a result, “Believers decided not to come together for a while. They [are] afraid of a repetition of the explosions in the homes of believers,” said a church leader. Large numbers of people had attended the church’s Christmas services and local Christians believe that this turnout had “angered some of the local Muslims and led them to carry out the attack.”

Pakistan: Three churches were attacked:

1) Apostolic Church was burned in the Punjab. The church building was torched a day after a prayer vigil for Epiphany on Jan. 6. Pastor Zulfiqar of the Apostolic Church said Bibles and sacred vessels were also lost in the blaze. An earlier dispute between Muslims and Christians is believed to be behind the arson attack. Locals accused police of being negligent, as usual. According to a local resident: “All the local Christians are now in great fear, the fire illustrates that Christians are not wanted in the local area.”

2) Akba Azhar, a 26-year-old Muslim man, broke into the Victory Church in Kasur and burned copies of the Bible and other sacred books. Although he was captured and detained by a group of Christians who handed him over to police, and although any act of blasphemy against any religion is punishable in Pakistan by death, police claimed that he was mentally unstable and therefore could not be tried. Local Christians disagree, insisting that he is of sound mind. Several Christians are on death row in Pakistan due to accusations of blasphemy against Islam.

3) A group of Muslims illegally seized a church property. The Christian congregation eventually gave up trying to reacquire its church building and a reconciliation meeting was held by police: “the Muslims instead armed themselves with guns and machetes and attacked the Christians’ family members in their homes,” said local Christian, Bashir Masih. After the church seizure, Muslims in the area “made it almost impossible” for church members to worship even in their own homes. “We obtained written approval from the district police chief, Rai Ijaz, to hold a three-hour prayer meeting in the private courtyard of a Christian…” But when the congregation of about 30 Christians began worshipping, Rashid Jutt, a Muslim in his late 20s, appeared and disrupted the service. A young Christian in attendance stepped forward in an effort to stop the Muslim’s harassment. A fight started, but the congregation separated the two men. The Muslim vowed to “teach all of us a lesson” as he left, said Masih. Apparently the Muslim’s revenge was to tell police that the Christian congregation tied him up and tortured him. The Christian congregation “immediately reached the police station and told the inspector in-charge what had really happened.” A police officer advised them to drop the matter and instead try to “reconcile with the Muslim youth.”

The Christians agreed to a reconciliation meeting, but the Muslim never showed up. Instead, they found him “and some 30 other men armed with guns, machetes, and batons storming through our houses and beating up our boys.” The Christians instantly called police, who arrived slowly and “did not arrest any of the Muslims. … We feel that the entire Muslim community has turned against us for standing up against their aggression. … Even the local police, are on the Muslims’ side,” Masih concluded, “as raids were being conducted to arrest Christian boys while no effort is being made to arrest Jutt and his accomplices, whom we have named in our police complaint for attacking our homes and beating up our boys.”

South Sudan: Muslims “sent” from the Muslim majority in Sudan, a country in which Sharia law is enforced, are suspected of burning down a church building in its southern neighbor where there is a Christian majority. On January 16, members of the Sudanese Church of Christ in the refugee settlement of Yida awoke in the morning to find their place of worship in flames. “I learned that those who set our church on fire were sent from Sudan purposely,” reported an anonymous church leader. The fire burned both the exterior and interior of the structure, destroying all of the chairs, a pulpit, and some copies of Bibles in Arabic. The following week his congregation of nearly 200 people held their prayer service in the open air in the remains of the charred church building, an adobe structure.

Egypt: A makeshift bomb was found near a church on January 22. Father Paul of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt found what he described as a “foreign object” next to the garbage can outside of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Aswan. He took it to the authorities for analysis, and it was discovered to be a makeshift bomb. Separately, security forces arrested 10 Coptic Christians for trying to build a wall around a piece of vacant land in order to expand their current church into the territory or possibly even build a church. A church already exists in the village of Abu Hannas in Samalout, Minya but it is too small to serve the village’s large Christian population. So the church purchased an unused piece of land next to it in the hope of expanding the current church or building another.

Iran: Authorities from the Islamic Republic are trying to convert the Assyrian Christian church in Tehran into a mosque. The church was illegally confiscated two years ago, when church leaders were told that an Islamic prayer hall would be built there.

Indonesia: Authorities in the Sharia-governed province of Aceh plan to remove tents built by Christians in which to worship after their churches were torn down late last year by authorities in response to Muslim violence against churches. The attacks left one dead and thousands of Christians displaced. The government claims that the removals were agreed to, as the tents were built only for Christmas services — a claim that Christian leaders reject. When Sharia police and other officials arrived in early January to remove the tents, the congregation resisted. “Mothers, children, and youths blockaded them. They made their objections clear,” said a pastor. Two church tents were torn down.

Turkey: A Syriac Orthodox Church in Diyarbakir, considered to be a “unique heritage site,” is believed to have been destroyed during fighting between the Turkish army and the Kurdish PKK. According to the last Christian family to flee the area, Fr. Yusuf and his wife: “My wife and I managed to escape the Church just moments ago with great difficulty… A few days ago, we already sent our children away in order to put them in safety. My wife and I, however, could not leave this ancient-old Church,” which symbolizes the last living presence of the Arameans in this once flourishing Aramean city.
Citation:

“We heard the fighting coming closer to us and we felt the ground shaking more and more. Especially my wife got terribly afraid and then we both decided that we had to run for our lives. … Not even at home or church we were safe. Our psychology has been greatly impacted by what we have experienced lately. … We don’t know what has happened to our Church, because we didn’t dare to look while we were running for our lives. Now we have little hope left that there can be a future for us, Aramean Christians, to stay in the land of our forefathers.”

Muslim Slaughter of Christians

Pakistan: At least three Christians were raped and/or tortured to death by Muslims:

1) A group of Muslim men went into a Christian district, abducted a 7-year-old boy, and took turns gang-raping him before finally strangling him to death with a rope. Locals found the child’s body the next day dumped in a field: “[T]he body was sent for post-mortem examination which revealed that the 7-year-old was killed after being brutally raped,” a local said. “The suspects belonged to rich families and were drunk when they kidnapped the child, took him away and they raped him.”

2) A week later, another group of reportedly “rich and drunk” Muslims in a car accosted three Christian girls walking home from work. They sexually harassed them, saying “Christian girls are only meant for one thing, the pleasure of Muslim men.” When the girls tried to run away, the Muslims chased them down in their car and ran them over, killing one 17-year-old girl.

3) A Christian man was brutally tortured to death by police in an attempt to get him to confess to stealing from his Muslim employer. Khurram, the son of Liaqat Masih, the 47-year-old slain Christian, was also tortured by police for the same reason; he shared his eyewitness testimony of the beating his father endured before expiring. Police stripped him naked, made him stand on a chair, tied his hands behind his back, and hung him from the ceiling, causing Liaqat’s shoulders to become dislocated. Each time the captive’s feet hit the floor, a police officer would pull the rope to lift him up again and continued applying tension to his arms and dislocated shoulders. Because both Khurram and Liaqat adamantly maintained their innocence during the ordeal, the officers continued to beat his tied-up father with wooden logs until he eventually died. About an hour into the beating, the guards noticed that Liaqat was no longer breathing. The officers then released the tension on the rope and laid the father’s beaten body down in a pool of his own urine, said the son who watched. At the autopsy, doctors concluded that Liaqat died of a heart attack and failed to record the numerous injuries and bruises suffered during the beating.

Bangladesh: ISIS claimed responsibility for the murder of an 85-year-old Muslim man for reportedly converting to Christianity. He was found lying in a coffin-like structure with blood on his chest. It is believed that he was stabbed to death while working at his homeopathic practice. According to the report, “Soldiers of the caliphate were able to eliminate the apostate, named ‘Samir al-Din’, by stabbing him with a knife.” Although al-Din’s son claims that his father never converted to Christianity and frequently prayed facing Mecca, One Way Church disagrees, stating that he was just “in a meeting of the church at Gopinathpur village on Jan 3” and that he had told others that his life was in danger. “The local church has shown us papers confirming his conversion to Christianity in 2001,” said local police.

Syria: A bomb attack on a mostly Christian neighborhood killed three people and wounded 10 others, all Christians. The attack occurred on January 24 in the Kurdish city of Qamishli. While rumors began that ISIS was behind it, according to one Christian leader, “So many people think that behind the bombing there could also be Kurdish masterminds and executors. It is another disturbing factor of this war: there is terrorism, but sometimes we do not know who really terrifies us.”

HEAD OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS DIVISION VANITA GUPTA DELIVERS REMARKS AT THE INTERAGENCY ROUNDTABLE ON RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION IN EDUCATION

Newark, NJ
United States

~

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Good afternoon.  Thank you, Melissa [Rogers], for your kind words and for your innovative leadership at the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.  I also want to thank U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman [of the District of New Jersey], for his help in organizing today’s discussion and for his outstanding service to the people of New Jersey.  And I want to acknowledge my colleagues from across the administration – including from the Justice Department’s Community Relations Service, the Department of Education and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

It’s a pleasure to join you all for this inaugural roundtable as we launch our new interagency initiative to combat religious discrimination.  Our discussion today – and the discussions we’ll lead around the country in the months ahead – will help us address the tough questions facing our communities.  How can we combat religious discrimination?  How can we promote religious pluralism?  And how can we create safe, supportive and inclusive schools for all our children?

Throughout the world, America shines as a beacon of freedom and opportunity.  We welcome people from every creed and walk of life to our shores.  And we believe in a set of simple truths.  Tolerance can overcome bigotryEmpathy can extinguish hateAnd diversity can defeat discrimination.  From the 18th century – when George Washington reassured Jewish Americans that our government “gives to bigotry no sanction” – to the days after 9/11, when George W. Bush reassured Muslim Americans that our country respects and protects people of every faith, our leaders have vigorously defended religious freedom and religious pluralism.  These ideals define the story and spirit of America.

Regrettably, our country has not always lived up to the promise of its founding ideals.  Even today, too many people continue to suffer discrimination, harassment and violence simply because of their religious beliefs.  Following heinous acts of terrorism in particular, too many Muslim Americans – and those perceived as Muslim – suffer a backlash of violence and discrimination.  We saw it after 9/11.  And we continue to see it today following the tragic events in San Bernardino, California, and Paris.  We see criminal threats against mosques; harassment in schools; and even reports of violence targeting Muslim Americans, people of Arab or South Asian descent and people perceived to be members of these groups. Rolling Eyes

But we also know that religious discrimination appears in many forms and targets many communitiesRolling Eyes In the Civil Rights Division, we continue to respond with a range of robust enforcement efforts.  We prosecute religion-based hate crimes.  We address unlawful barriers to building places of worship.  And we combat religious discrimination, including harassment, in education and employment. Rolling Eyes

Working with our U.S. Attorney colleagues, the Civil Rights Division has taken action around the country to ensure that all students can attend school free from discrimination, harassment and violence.  In part because of our efforts, today, Christian students in Bakersfield City, California, can observe Ash Wednesday without fearing an unexcused absence.  Muslim students in Lewisville, Texas, can pray together during lunch.  Jewish students in Pine Bush, New York, can walk the halls, ride the bus and sit in class without enduring anti-Semitic bullying and intimidation. Rolling Eyes   Arabic-speaking EL students in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, can learn from qualified teachers.  And Sikh students in DeKalb County, Georgia, can wear a turban to school without facing harassment.

Of course, we also recognize the urgent work ahead.  As U.S. Attorney Fishman just highlighted, today the Civil Rights Division’s Educational Opportunities Section is launching a new enforcement initiative with the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices to amplify our efforts to combat religious discrimination in schools and other educational settings.  This initiative will allow us to expand our ability to investigate and remedy complaints; to lead robust community outreach; and to develop critical guidance for federal prosecutors.  And as we launch this new initiative, U.S. Attorney Fishman and his office will continue to serve as close allies and critical partners.  In addition, the division will continue to work with Deputy Assistant Secretary [Robert] Kim and our colleagues at the Department of Education to expand access to federal resources for diverse religious and ethnic communities by translating information about the different types of discrimination we address.

These efforts will help us combat discriminatory backlash against Muslim students and students perceived as Muslim.  But they will also benefit children of every background and every religion. Rolling Eyes   Because make no mistake.  Religious discrimination against one student not only harms her and her family.  It harms all of us.   Evil or Very Mad .  And it threatens the foundation of a free and open society. Evil or Very Mad

Our schools must remain the places where our children feel safe and supported.  The places where they confront differences by building bridges of understandingAnd the places where they learn that America guarantees freedom, justice and opportunity for all people – regardless of what you look like, where you come from or which religion you observe. Rolling Eyes   As we advance this mission, I recognize the vital role of community engagement and robust dialogue.

So I look forward to hearing your ideas, your input and your feedback about how together we can combat religious discrimination and promote religious freedom in the 21st century.

Thank you.

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES CRUZ AND RUBIO CONTINUE TO COURT ANTI-LGBT GROUPS

How the SPLC and anti-God puppets,
the control oppostion, are unite to bring hate and criminalization against the divine law of the family.

Hatewatch Staff

March 08, 2016

Last November, Sen. Ted Cruz made some waves when he and two other presidential candidates—Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal—addressed an event in Iowa in support of “religious liberty.” The event was sponsored by extreme anti-LGBT radio host Kevin Swanson, of the anti-LGBT hate group Generations with Vision.

Swanson has made many anti-LGBT statements over the years, and he has also defended the execution of LGBT people, though he said he would provide LGBT people a chance to repent first. Huckabee and Cruz pleaded ignorance about Swanson’s views, which are readily accessible through a web search.

Appearing at the event was a mistake, Rick Tyler, a Cruz campaign spokesman, told USAToday in December. Tyler said that Swanson’s comments about supporting the execution of LGBT people are “reprehensible,” and further stated that Cruz has spoken out repeatedly against anyone who calls for hatred or violence against homosexuals.

In spite of Tyler’s claims about Cruz’s support for LGBT people, Cruz was scheduled to be at a campaign rally yesterday in Mississippi that included anti-LGBT and anti-Muslim radio host Bryan Fischer, the former director of issues analysis at the American Family Association (AFA), an anti-LGBT hate group. Cruz cancelled the appearance, citing illness, but told his Mississippi campaign chairman, State Sen. Chris McDaniel, that he wanted to come, and that he was still hoping to do a pop-in, but “there’s no way he could make a full rally.”

Though Fischer was removed from his directorship early last year, he remains a radio host and blogger at AFA. Fischer is known for his vitriolic anti-LGBT and anti-Muslim statements linking homosexuality to pedophilia as well as Nazism. He has called for the criminalization of homosexuality, called for the cessation of Muslim immigration to the U.S. and also stated that Muslims don’t have First Amendment rights. Fischer has even attacked African-Americans, saying, “[I]t’s no wonder we are now awash in the disastrous social consequences of people who rut like rabbits.”

“Religious liberty” has become a rallying cry for anti-LGBT groups, especially since last year’s Supreme Court ruling that legalized marriage equality nationwide. A litany of so-called “religious freedom restoration acts” have been proposed in many states, all drafted and driven by anti-LGBT groups attempting to legalize discrimination.

In late February, in fact, the Cruz campaign announced a “religious liberty” advisory council that features several people who have been instrumental in spreading and propagating damaging falsehoods about LGBT people for years.

The narrative behind “religious liberty” portrays Christians who object to homosexuality on biblical grounds as victims of religious persecution. The so-called RFRAs would allow Christians, especially, to deny goods and services to LGBT people on the basis of their religious beliefs. Cruz devotes a page of his website to this new narrative. On day one of a Cruz administration, the site claims, Cruz will “instruct the Department of Justice, the IRS, and every other federal agency that the persecution of religious liberty ends today.”

Rubio’s campaign website states that “religious liberty is the right to live according to your religious teachings and to have the opportunity to spread it to others, instill it in your children and live it in your everyday life.” He has also stated that he has a plan to make same-sex marriage illegal again, which includes appointing only conservative justices to the Supreme Court who would interpret the 2015 ruling differently.

The choices for Cruz’s religious liberty advisory council are weighted heavily toward anti-LGBT Christian, something his council has in common with a “marriage and family” advisory board that Senator Marco Rubio’s campaign announced in February.

In fact, the two boards share some members:
• Cruz’s council includes two people from the anti-LGBT hate group Family Research Council (FRC) which has, for over two decades, worked to defame LGBT people with a variety of discredited myths and pseudoscience. FRC president Tony Perkins is the chair of Cruz’s advisory council and  has linked homosexuality to pedophilia, even claiming that LGBT people “recruit children.” Other FRC officials have over the years called for the deportation of LGBT people, claimed that LGBT households are “violent” and that LGBT people are sexual predators. The FRC website states that “homosexual conduct is harmful to the persons who engage in it and to society at large, and can never be affirmed.”

• FRC fellow Kenneth Blackwell is on Cruz’s new council and Rubio’s board. Blackwell has compared same-sex marriage to incest, suggested that transgender and bisexual people would use same-sex marriage to engage in polygamy, and tried to link a 2014 mass murder in California to attacks on “natural marriage.”

• Ryan Anderson, a research fellow at the Heritage Center, was also named to Cruz’s advisory council and Rubio’s board. Anderson is one of the young guns of the anti-LGBT movement who, though not as overt in his anti-LGBT sentiment, routinely traffics in anti-LGBT pseudoscience when speaking to national media. He has also written that the decriminalization of homosexuality helped lead to the Penn State molestation scandal in 2011 and commended a book that supported the criminalization of “sodomitical relationships.”

• Another member of Cruz’s council is pastor Jim Garlow, who was a major proponent behind California’s Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in 2008. (It was later found unconstitutional in court.) Garlow has repeatedly linked gay marriage to Satan and held a conference at his Skyline megachurch in California in 2015 at which many speakers disparaged homosexuality as unhealthy and destructive.

• The Rubio campaign named Bradford Wilcox to their board. Wilcox, listed as senior fellow at the Institute for Family Studies and a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, is also the director of the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia. Wilcox was instrumental in pushing the discredited anti-LGBT Regnerus study into the public square after he played a key role in the study’s development by recruiting Regnerus to do it, serving as a paid consultant, and possibly a peer reviewer.

• Everett Piper was also named to Cruz’s council and Rubio’s board. Piper is president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and delivered the closing keynote address at the 2015 gathering of the anti-LGBT hate group World Congress of Families in Salt Lake City. At Garlow’s 2015 conference, Piper claimed that the LGBT rainbow flag had become “the dark flag of tyranny overnight.”

• Cruz has also brought in Kelly Shackelford of the Texas-based Liberty Institute, a legal firm that bills itself as fighting for “religious liberty.” In reality, the Liberty Institute works mostly against antidiscrimination ordinances and defends those who claim to have been hurt by them. Shackelford and the Institute peddle alleged anti-Christian incidents (many of which are false or misrepresented) to demonstrate the need for “religious liberty.”

• Carol Swain, a professor of political science and law at Vanderbilt University, also sits on Cruz’s new religious liberty advisory council. A self-described Christian evangelical, Swain garnered attention last year when she wrote an op-ed in the Tennessean claiming that Islam is not like other religions in the United States, and that it “poses an absolute danger to us and our children unless it is monitored better than it has been under the Obama administration.”

• Rubio’s board includes Joseph Backholm, executive director of the Family Policy Institute of Washington (FPIW), who worked in 2009 to prevent domestic partnership benefits from including same-sex couples. He also led the battle against same-sex marriage in Washington state through Preserve Marriage Washington. He has called marriage equality “wrong in the eternal sense” and said that once people realized how wrong it is, that is would be abandoned, like the ancient practice of bloodletting. One of the resources that the FPIW website listed with regard to same-sex marriage is an article (the link from the FPIW site is currently broken, but the article can be accessed here in some browsers) that includes the myths that gay people molest children at a higher rate than heterosexuals and that gay people are promiscuous.

• Caitlin La Ruffa, executive director of the Love and Fidelity Network, is also on Rubio’s board. The Network is geared toward helping college students “uphold the institution of marriage,” according to the group’s website. The site also states that “redefining” marriage to anything other than one man and one woman “jeopardizes the religious liberty” of those who “hold more traditional views on the family” and also causes children to suffer “from a weakening marriage culture.” Gay parents, the website adds, are denying a child of either a mother or a father, no matter a gay parent’s love and provision for that child and that the child would “do best” when raised by their married mother and father.

REPORT : ONLY WORD FOR ISIS ATROCITIES IS GENOCIDE

The roman Empire is preparing for the final battle. Many catholics organizations and governments are coming out with the same statements.

Knights of Columbus present 280 pages of data

March 11, 2016ZENIT StaffConflicts, War, Terrorism

WIKIMEDIA COMMONS - VOA

A major report that makes the case that the terror campaign being waged by ISIS and its affiliates against Christians and other religious minorities meets the definition of genocide was released Thursday at a news conference at the National Press Club by the Knights of Columbus (K of C) and In Defense of Christians (IDC). The report was presented to the US State Department.

The 280-page report includes substantial material not previously available, including the most comprehensive information to date on Christians who have been killed, kidnapped, raped, sold into slavery, driven from their homes, and dispossessed, as well as on churches that have been destroyed. It also details interviews with witnesses to the atrocities that were collected during a Knights of Columbus fact-finding mission to Iraq last month.

Senior State Department officials had requested that the K of C produce such a report four weeks ago, as they neared a congressionally mandated March 17 deadline for making a determination as to whether or not ISIS was committing genocide against Christians and other minority groups. The report is available online at www.kofc.org and www.StopTheChristianGenocide.org. The latter site also hosts a petition on this subject to Secretary of State John Kerry. It has been signed by more than 60,000 people.

The report includes an executive summary, a legal brief outlining the case for a genocide declaration, and addenda including summaries of witness interviews, a database of crimes known to have been committed against Christians by ISIS and its affiliated groups, lists of Christians killed, estimates of the number of dead in various regions under ISIS control, statements by other governments and world leaders, and additional evidence of ISIS’ intent and actions against Christians that has been widely overlooked in the Western media.

“There is only one word that adequately, and legally, describes what is happening to Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East. That word is genocide,” said Knights of Columbus CEO Carl Anderson in presenting the report Thursday morning.

He pointed out that the UN Convention on genocide and U.S. statutes that mirror it state that genocide occurs even when the destruction of the group is “in part.” He also noted that non-legal terms such as “ethnic” or “religious” cleansing or even legal terms such as “crimes against humanity” lack the adequate elements necessary to address the situation.

He continued: “In her 2002 book, A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, wrote that ‘the United States had never in its history intervened to stop genocide, and in fact rarely even made a point of condemning it as it occurred.’ She documents a long history of American inaction in places like Bosnia, Rwanda, and Cambodia.”

Anderson commended “the courageous action of [then] Secretary of State Colin Powell who became the first member of any United States Administration to apply the label genocide to an ongoing conflict when he reported to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that ‘genocide has been committed in Darfur … and that genocide may still be occurring.’”

He noted that “Secretary of State Kerry has a similar opportunity to exercise moral leadership.”

Support for calling what is happening to Christians – and other religious minorities – genocide includes a global consensus, a strong majority of the American people according to a K of C-Marist poll and bi-partisan support from candidates of both parties including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who applied the label to what is happening to Christians.

As the report makes clear, both U.S. and international law are clear on the matter, and this case meets the legal definition of genocide at every level.

Anderson also noted that 200-plus members of Congress from both parties are co-sponsoring H. Con. Res. 75. He added that “today we renew our support for this excellent piece of legislation and applaud its progress.”

“The evidence contained in this report as well as the evidence relied upon by the European Parliament fully support—I would suggest compel—the conclusion that reasonable grounds exist to believe the crime of genocide has been committed,” Anderson said.

Related: European Parliament declares ISIS atrocities genocide.

“While we believe this to be the most comprehensive report on this subject to date, covering incidents in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Yemen, we continue to receive new reports and new evidence,” said Anderson. But with new reports pouring in every day, he cautioned: “It may only be the tip of the iceberg.”

Anderson noted that Secretary of State John Kerry himself in August 2014 stated: “ISIL’s campaign of terror against the innocent, including Yezidi (sic) and Christian minorities, and its grotesque and targeted acts of violence bear all the warning signs and hallmarks of genocide.”

Anderson said, the collective evidence, and ISIS’ own public statements and publications make clear that it targets Christians in order to destroy Christians as a group and Christianity as a religion.

ISIS’ magazine, Dabiq, has promised to destroy the “Crusader army,” a Christian reference, and has labeled Pope Francis “the crusader pope.” ISIS’ videos have encouraged the killing of priests – and Christians in general – as well.

Among the chilling statements in the magazine is this one: “We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women… If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market.”

A panel of speakers with expertise in this area also spoke in favor a genocide designation, including: Coptic Bishop Anba Angaelos; Chaldean Catholic priests Fr. Douglas Bazi and Fr. Dankha Joola both from Iraq; religious freedom scholar Nina Shea; CUA law professor Robert Destro; Prof. Greg Stanton, founding president of genocide watch; Defying ISIS author Johnnie Moore and Juliana Taimoorazy.

HAMAS-LINKED CAIR DEMANDS TRUMP APOLOGIZE FOR SAYING “ISLAM HATES US”

March 11, 2016 4:40 pm By Robert Spencer

Will CAIR apologize for being an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department? CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) A California chapter distributed a poster telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI, and a Florida chapter distributed pamphlets with the same message. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates.

When will Hamas-linked CAIR apologize for all that? When will Hamas-linked CAIR apologize for the Qur’an’s words of hatred toward unbelievers, quoted here?

“Muslim group to Trump: Apologize for saying ‘Islam hates us,’” AP, March 11, 2016:
Citation:

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — A leading Muslim civil rights group is calling on GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump to apologize for his claim that “Islam hates us.”

In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper that aired Wednesday night, Trump was asked whether he thinks Islam is at war with the West.
“I think Islam hates us,” Trump responded. “There’s a tremendous hatred. We have to get to the bottom of it. There is an unbelievable hatred of us.”

The statement drew swift condemnation from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which called on Trump to apologize for the comment, as it has in response to other comments Trump has made.

“Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric does not reflect leadership, but instead reflects a bigoted mindset that only serves to divide our nation and the world,” Nihad Awad, the group’s national executive director said in a statement. The group suggested Trump could do so at Thursday evening’s GOP debate….

MUSLIM HUSBAND HACKS OFF CHILD BRIDE'S NOSE, ALL BECAUSE OF THER ONE REQUEST

Posted on March 12, 2016 by Dom the Conservative

On International Women’s Day, a Muslim man tied his teen bride to a tree in a nearby field, chopped off her hair, and gruesomely hacked off her nose. When she was found unconscious, she told police that her grisly fate was all because of one thing she requested from her husband.

As the Islamic world gains attention from international media, the horrors of honor killings and attacks are no longer a far-off, unheralded plight. Brought to the forefront, we are confronted with the uncomfortable misogyny of a 1,400-year-old ideological practice. Pair this with the widely Islamic issue of child marriage, and we have the perfect recipe for the most horrific child abuse imaginable.

The Daily Capital reports that a child bride was discovered unconscious and bloody in an abandoned field in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan on March 8. Tayyab, 17, was bound to a tree before her enraged husband chopped off her hair and nose to spite her — but it was the reason she gave authorities that make it all the more sickening.

According to officials, the wife, a girl still in her childhood, missed her parents and wanted to go visit them. Her husband found this to be dishonorable, which prompted him to exact gruesome revenge upon his young spouse.

Police are hunting for the man who reportedly dragged Tayyab to a local pasture, tied her to a tree so she couldn’t defend herself or escape, and forced her to endure the excruciating pain of having her face mutilated.

Like Tayyab, 16-year-old Nazia made international headlines when her 40-year-old Muslim husband chopped off her nose, shaved her head, and burned her feet with boiling water.

Reza Gul, 20, was married to her 25-year-old husband for 5 years before he cut off her nose and fled.

The Express Tribune reports that Tayyab had been living with her parents for the past four or five months because of previous domestic disputes between the couple. However, the girl was forced by her husband to return to his home on Tuesday. Because the husband is in charge of his wives as if they are his property, the man was legally allowed to bring his child bride home against her will. Unfortunately, this would be her last week before being grotesquely maimed.

Because attacks like Tayyab’s are on the rise, Pakistan has proposed a bill that would allow women to submit complaints about domestic violence in the home, granting them protection orders from abusive husbands. However, this will most likely be rejected or even ignored if passed, as it would be considered un-Islamic to issue such legislation.

The Quran is very clear on the rights of Muslim women, much less non-Muslim ones. In just two sentences, the Islamic Prophet Muhammad sealed women’s fate, causing them to legally and religiously be identified as property.
Citation:

Men are in charge of women by

what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband’s] absence what Allah would have them guard. [Quran 4:34]

Of course, the next half of the scripture advises “property managers” on what to do if their wives attempt to rise above their instructed position.
Citation:

But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance – [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. [Quran 4:34]

The Quran directly orders men to beat their wives, proving that any Islamic country that attempts to protect women from domestic abuse is refuting their prophet’s teaching. Still, the only way to elicit these nations to give women basic human rights is through international outrage. Outcry from foreign voices has resulted in progress in these Sharia-governed lands, and with the protest of these fed-up women, perhaps it is possible to oust fundamentals of this barbaric ideology.

VATICAN ‘FOREIGN MINISTER’: PROTECTION OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM INCREASINGLY URGENT AND NECESSARY

Archbishop Gallagher Addresses Conference on ‘Our Church Is a Church of Martyrs’

March 14, 2016 ZENIT Staff Conflicts, War, Terrorism

WIKIMEDIA COMMONS - Dnalor 01

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, secretary for Relations with States, spoke at a meeting for Missionary Formation organised by the Centre for Missionary Cooperation between the Churches of the diocese of Rome, held last Saturday, 12 March.

The theme of the encounter was “Our Church is a Church of martyrs”.

The following are extensive extracts from the archbishop’s address, which focused on the prevention of radicalism and fundamentalism through dialogue and mutual understanding of different religions, and cooperation between States to put an end to persecution in the name of religion.

For some years we have witnessed an exponential growth in cases of intolerance, discrimination, extremism, fundamentalism, and risks to individual freedom, especially with regard to freedom of worship and expression. … In particular, I believe I may say that religious extremism and fundamentalism of various origins is often at the root of hostility against Christians and against the faithful of other religious minorities, beginning with the spread of armed groups of a fundamentalist type, transformed into terrorist organisations, which seriously compromise international security. To this there must be added the promulgation in some countries of laws on blasphemy, which have become an easy pretext for those who intend to persecute those who profess a religious belief different to that of the majority. Furthermore, it must not be forgotten that in countries governed by authoritarian or totalitarian regimes, there are serious limitations to religious freedom. In addition, in some other countries those who are detained for religious reasons receive worse treatment than others. Similarly, the scourge of illegal arms trafficking must not be ignored, as well as the production and sale of arms by subjects of international law, facilitating protracted conflicts. Finally, the continual destabilisation of the Middle East has aggravated the violence against religious minorities, including Christians, forcing them every day to abandon their homes to flee the horrors of war and persecution”.

“Therefore, it is becoming increasingly urgent and necessary to ensure international cooperation to stop these atrocities, as well as to fully reaffirm the right to religious freedom and to condemn every type of discrimination and intolerance for religious reasons in every corner of the earth, even in the West, where forms of discrimination exist not infrequently and often appear in the guise of the so-called ‘defence of democratic values’. … Hostility against religious minorities must appeal to the conscience of the international community and shake from their torpor all those who are responsible for safeguarding respect for fundamental rights, including religious freedom and the right to life”.

“The position of the Holy See is this: always to seek the good of the person and peoples, to protect peace and guarantee respect for the dignity of every human person and his or her fundamental rights, all for the dignity and protection of human beings and not for a mere reason of State, nor to defend partisan interests. To attain these objectives the Holy See makes every effort to promote dialogue with all available parties, inviting States and other entities to cooperate and seek to resolve conflicts via political and diplomatic solutions, always fully respecting international law. To this it is necessary to add the application of the principle of ‘the responsibility to protect’, the promotion of which has always been one of the primary cornerstones of the international activity of the Holy See and has always been part of its message to the community of Nations”.

“On a number of occasions Francis has condemned the shameful and complicit silence of all faced with the ‘atrocious, inhuman and incomprehensible persecutions, sadly still present in many parts of the world today’. Rolling Eyes … The Holy Father has expressed his hope that ‘public opinion around the world [may] be ever more attentive, sensitive and involved in the face of this persecution directed against Christians and, more generally, against religious minorities. I renew the hope that the international community not remain silent and inert in front of these intolerable crimes, which constitute an alarming decline of the most essential human rights and impede the richness of cohabitation among peoples, cultures and faiths'”.

“In this sense, the Holy See has always sustained the importance of respect for religious freedom, which must be promoted and not limited. Indeed, on the basis of this freedom, understood as a fundamental right, broader spaces for dialogue can be created, for instance involving various religious and social components; this favours the necessary conditions for constructing more inclusive and stable societies. It must also be recalled that religion is part of the identity of a country, and therefore the State must concern itself with maintaining and respecting this identity, avoiding its exploitation for political ends (with the risk, for example, that it give rise to radical nationalistic phenomena or movements based on confessional identification. … Radicalism and fundamentalism can be extirpated by intervened at the root cause that generates them (religious, political, economic, cultural and military factors), among which social unrest must not be undervalued. … Furthermore, at the level of the religious dimension, it is important to combat ignorance, also comparing various interpretations with the authentic one of professed faith, so as to avoid extremist derivations that, ‘even before it eliminates human beings by perpetrating horrendous killings, eliminates God himself, turning him into a mere ideological pretext’. … Finally, but no less important, it is to be remembered that social unrest, injustice, social inequality and in particular poverty constitute the ideal seedbed from which fundamentalist visions and practices may arise and take root”.

“In conclusion, it seems to me entirely appropriate to note that, aside from the aforementioned diplomatic activities of international and regional institutions, the Holy See is strongly committed to promoting interreligious dialogue at various levels through its corresponding Pontifical Council, whose primary task is that of promoting mutual understanding, respect and collaboration between Catholics and followers of other religious traditions, encouraging the study of religions, and promoting the formation of people dedicated to dialogue”.

393 TO 0 : U.S. HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY DECLARES ISIL IS COMMITTING GENOCIDE AGAINST CHRISTIANS

"And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

ISIS HAS COMMITTED ACTS OF GENOCIDE AGAINST CHRISTIANS – JOHN KERRY

(CNSNews.com) - The U.S. House of Representatives voted 393 to 0 tonight in favor of a resolution declaring that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is committing “genocide” against Christians, Yezidis and other religious minorities in the Middle East.

The vote on the resolution, which was sponsored by Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R.-Neb.) and co-sponsored 203 other members, brought together as broad a coalition as possible in the House. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (the chairman of the Democratic National Committee) joined with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Texas) in voting for it.

In total, there were 229 Republican votes for it and 164 Democratic votes for it.

The House resolution declared that "the atrocities perpetrated by ISIL against Christians, Yezidis, and other religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq and Syria constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide."

"It is my sincere hope that this trans-partisan resolution will further compel the State Department to join the building international consensus in calling the horrific ISIS violence against Christians, Yezidis, and others by its proper name: 'genocide,’” said Rep. Jeff Fortenberry.

Because of language included in the omnibus spending bill that Congress passed and President Barack Obama signed in December, Secretary of State Kerry is required to determine by this Thursday whether to declare on behalf of the administration that ISIL is committing genocide against Christians, Yezidis and other religious minorities.

In a statement issued a year and half ago, on Aug. 7, 2014, Kerry said:“ISIL’s campaign of terror against the innocent, including Yezidi and Christian minorities, and its grotesque and targeted acts of violence bear all the warning signs and hallmarks of genocide.”

However, testifying in the House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Department of State on Feb. 24, Kerry said he had ordered an “additional evaluation” to aide him in deciding whether ISIL was committing genocide.

“I will make a decision on it as soon as I have that additional evaluation and we will proceed forward from there,” Kerry testified. Twisted Evil

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF)—an independent federal commission—has expressly called for the U.S. government to declare that ISIL is committing genocide against Christians and others.

"USCIRF calls on the U.S. government to designate the Christian, Yazidi, Shi'a, Turkmen, and Shabak communities of Iraq and Syria as victims of genocide by ISIL," USCIRF said in a Dec. 7, 2015 statement.

USCIRF's 2015 annual report included this description of ISIL's campaign against Christians in northern Iraq:
Citation:

“ISIL’s takeover of northern Iraq could well mark the end of the presence in that area of its ancient Yazidi and Christian communities.

Citation:

“In June 2014, ISIL took the northern city of Mosul, overrunning Iraqi forces there, who dropped their weapons and fled. ISIL issued an ultimatum that all Christians must convert to Islam, leave Mosul, pay a tax, or face death. The Christian community in Mosul dates back more than 1,700 years, with an estimated 30,000 living there before the ISIL offensive. In August, ISIL captured Qaraqosh, the largest Christian town in northern Iraq, prompting an estimated 100,000 Christians to flee, and an assault on the Christian town of al-Kosh also led to an exodus of Christians. Nearly all Christians are believed to have left ISIL-held territory, with most fleeing to the KRG region.”

The Knights of Columbus have also been asking the State Department to declare that ISIL is committing genocide against Middle Eastern Christians.

“Today’s unanimous bipartisan passing of H. Con. Res. 75, which declares ISIS' attacks against Christians and other ethnic minorities occurring in the Middle East a genocide is historic and welcome,” Knights of Columbus CEO Carl Anderson said after tonight’s vote in the House.

“This bipartisan vote joins Congress' voice with those of the majority of American people and of the world,” said Anderson. “It is a testament to the truth. The question remains: Will the State Department join the rest of the world in calling this what it is--genocide? Or will it undermine the global and national consensus on this issue, signaling to terrorists that we don't take their crimes as seriously as the rest of the world does?

114th CONGRESS
1st Session

H. CON. RES. 75

Expressing the sense of Congress that those who commit or support atrocities against Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities, including Yezidis, Turkmen, Sabea-Mandeans, Kaka‘e, and Kurds, and who target them specifically for ethnic or religious reasons, are committing, and are hereby declared to be committing, “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity”, and “genocide”.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

September 9, 2015

Mr. Fortenberry (for himself, Ms. Eshoo, Mr. Franks of Arizona, Mr. Lipinski, Mr. Denham, and Mr. Vargas) submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

Expressing the sense of Congress that those who commit or support atrocities against Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities, including Yezidis, Turkmen, Sabea-Mandeans, Kaka‘e, and Kurds, and who target them specifically for ethnic or religious reasons, are committing, and are hereby declared to be committing, “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity”, and “genocide”.

Whereas those who commit or support atrocities against Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities, including Yezidis, Turkmen, Sabea-Mandeans, Kaka‘e, and Kurds, and who target them specifically for ethnic or religious reasons, intend to exterminate or to force the migration or submission of anyone who does not share their views concerning religion;

Whereas Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities have been an integral part of the cultural fabric of the Middle East for millennia;

Whereas Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities have been murdered, subjugated, forced to emigrate and suffered grievous bodily and psychological harm, including sexual enslavement and abuse, inflicted in a deliberate and calculated manner in violation of the laws of their respective nations, the laws of war, laws and treaties forbidding crimes against humanity, and the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, signed at Paris on December 9, 1948 (in this concurrent resolution referred to as the “Convention”);

Whereas these atrocities are undertaken with the specific intent to bring about the eradication and displacement of their communities and the destruction of their cultural heritage in violation of local laws, the laws of war, laws and treaties that punish crimes against humanity, and the Convention;

Whereas local, national, and international laws and treaties forbidding “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity”, and the Convention condemn murder, massacre, forced migration, extrajudicial punishment, kidnapping, slavery, human trafficking, torture, rape, and persecution of individuals because of their religion and shall be punished, whether committed by “constitutionally responsible rulers, public officials or private individuals” as provided by local laws, international laws and agreements, and the Convention;

Whereas Article I of the Convention, international, and local laws confirm that genocide and crimes against humanity, whether committed in time of peace or in time of war, are crimes which government authorities are obligated to prevent and to punish;

Whereas Article II of the Convention declares that “In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”;

Whereas Article III of the Convention affirms that “The following acts shall be punishable: (a) Genocide; (b) Conspiracy to commit genocide; (c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide; (d) Attempt to commit genocide; (e) Complicity in genocide.”;

Whereas, on July 10, 2015, Pope Francis, Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, declared that Middle Eastern Christians are facing genocide, a reality that must be “denounced” and that “In this third world war, waged piecemeal, which we are now experiencing, a form of genocide—and I stress the word genocide—is taking place, and it must end.”;

Whereas a March 13, 2015, report of the United Nations Committee on Human Rights prepared at the request of the Government of Iraq stated “[e]thnic and religious groups targeted by ISIL include Yezidis, Christians, Turkmen, Sabea-Mandeans, Kaka‘e, Kurds and Shi’a” and that “t is reasonable to conclude that some of the incidents [in Iraq in 2014–2015] . . . may constitute genocide.”; and

Whereas attacks on Yezidis included the mass killing of men and boys and enslavement and forcible transfer of women and children: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring),
That—

(1) the atrocities committed against Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities targeted specifically for religious reasons are, and are hereby declared to be, “crimes against humanity”, and “genocide”;

(2) each of the Contracting Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, signed at Paris on December 9, 1948, and other international agreements forbidding war crimes and crimes against humanity, particularly the governments of countries and their nationals who are in any way supporting these crimes, are reminded of their legal obligations under the Convention and these international agreements;

(3) every government and multinational body should call the atrocities being committed in the name of religion by their rightful names: “crimes against humanity”, “war crimes”, and “genocide”;

(4) the United Nations and the United Nations Secretary-General are called upon to assert leadership by calling the atrocities being committed in these places by their rightful names: “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity”, and “genocide”;

(5) the member states of the United Nations, with an urgent appeal to the Arab States that wish to uphold religious freedom, tolerance, and justice—

(A) should join in this concurrent resolution;

(B) should collaborate on measures to prevent further war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide; and

(C) should collaborate on the establishment and operation of domestic, regional and international tribunals to punish those responsible for the ongoing crimes;

(6) the governments of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Lebanese Republic, and other countries are commended for having undertaken to shelter and protect those fleeing the violence of ISIS (Da’esh) and other extremists until they can safely return to their homes in Iraq and Syria; and

(7) all those who force the migration of religious communities from their ancestral homelands, where they have lived and practiced their faith in safety and stability for hundreds of years—including specifically in the Nineveh Plain, a historic heartland of Christianity in Iraq and Mount Sinjar, the historic home of the Yezidis—should be tracked, sanctioned, arrested, prosecuted, and punished in accordance with the laws of the place where their crimes were committed and under applicable international criminal statutes and conventions.

AFTER CANADIAN SOLDIERS ATTACKED IN TORONTO, POLICE CHIEF CONDEMNS “ISLAMOPHOBIA”

 Brian Lilley Rebel Co-Founder

Toronto police have now charged Ayanie Hassan Ali with multiple counts of assault following Ali's attack on a Canadian Armed Forces recruitment centre that left two injured.

I applaud Toronto Police Chief Mark Sanders for quoting Ali's alleged remarks during the attack: "Allah told me to do this."

However, Sanders quickly backtracked and went on to condemn "this Islamophobia nonsense," meaning, he didn't want reporters or the public "categorizing a whole group of people," that is, Muslims, based on this incident.

Obviously there should be no backlash against Muslims, but why is it that we always hear more about these potential "backlashes" than about any real ones (since those rarely seem to materialize)?

SOROS, ANONYMOUS, MOVEON.org : IL FAUT TUER LE SOLDAT TRUMP

16 mars 2016 17 h 00 min·

TRUMP PRESIDENCY IS A GLOBAL THREAT, ECONOMIST INTELLIGENCE UNIT WARNS

These are the reasons they are now using to demonize all peoples who stand with Trump. All this saga is all bullshit, just a way to bring the destruction of America and the world and the arrest and murder of billions of peoples very soon.  The black community saying there will be riots everywhere, The U.S House and Kerry now admitting ISIS committing genocide against christians but need an
additional evaluation to this threat, the coalition of arab nations, NATO and many governments walking together saying they will fight against ISIS. The  "VATICAN ‘FOREIGN MINISTER’: PROTECTION OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM INCREASINGLY URGENT AND NECESSARY "is not a protection for the peoples but for a minority religion (islam). Finally, we may be have a global reset at the end of this month http://img110.xooimage.com/views/1/6/3/banque-global-reset-4ec7e30.jpg/ .

We have under their dialectic speaking and all these false accusations and the demonization against Trump (who I do not support him and anyone of them - all global players) , all the reasons to destroy this world and to bring this global war and tyranny against all peoples. Are you spiritually ready for what's coming?

McConnell Advises Trump to Discourage Violence at Rallies 0:38

A British research organization has warned that a Donald Trump presidency could have a dangerous impact on the world economy, increasing the potential of Islamic terror attacks and of a trade war with Mexico and China.

The Economist Intelligence Unit released its updated global risk assessment, ranking the election of Trump a 12 on a scale of one to 25 — the same number it assigned to the possibility that jihadi terrorism would destabilize the global economy.

The firm pointed to a number of reasons, including Trump's hostility toward free trade, his accusing China of being a "currency manipulator, his advocating the killing of terrorists' families, and his proposal to move troops into Syria to fight ISIS and take its oil.

This appeared to be the first time the EIU had rated a presidential candidate's election as a global risk, the firm told Politico.

"His militaristic tendencies towards the Middle East (and ban on all Muslim travel to the U.S.) would be a potent recruitment tool for jihadi groups, increasing their threat both within the region and beyond," the EIU said.

The organization ranks risks by impact and probability. A Trump presidency bore high impact, but moderate probability, the EIU said.

The threat list. Economist Intelligence Unit

"Although we do not expect Mr. Trump to defeat his most likely Democratic contender, Hillary Clinton, there are risks to this forecast, especially in the event of a terrorist attack on U.S. soil or a sudden economic downturn," the authors wrote.

Trump also will likely face stiff opposition in Congress, both from Democrats and Republicans, the EIU said.

That "internal bickering," however, could weaken the country's policymaking, the firm said.

Other global threats on the list included a "sharp economic slowdown in China," a collapse of investment in the oil sector, the break up of the European Union, the further rise of jihadi terrorism, and Russian actions in Ukraine and Syria leading to "a new 'cold war.'"

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Also Wednesday, the Washington Post editorial board called for the Republican Party to aim for as brokered convention to prevent a Trump nomination, arguing that Trump "presents a threat to American democracy."

"Mr. Trump resembles other strongmen throughout history who have achieved power by manipulating democratic processes," the editorial board wrote. "Their playbook includes a casual embrace of violence; a willingness to wield government powers against personal enemies; contempt for a free press; demonization of anyone who is not white and Christian; intimations of dark conspiracies; and the propagation of sweeping, ugly lies."

MINNESOTA : SHARIA POLICE ATTEMPT TO CRIMINALIZE FREE SPEECH SUPPOSEDLY OVERHEARD IN RETAIL STORE

Islam is not a race. Discussing the threat of the Islamic State is not illegal. Islamophobia is a farce. But this is how those who would be the first killed in Muslim lands – gays, liberals, atheists – want to infringe on your rights.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) – A St. Cloud group focused on stamping out racism is alleging instances of Islamophobia at a local store.

Unitecloud says a worker at Menards in Waite Park was overheard talking with a customer about how dangerous Muslims are, and that they are “only pretending to be peaceful to bide their time until they can hurt people.”

The customer who overheard the conversation on Tuesday told the worker she would like to continue shopping without hearing hate speech.

The two people talking then moved a few feet away to continue their conversation, according to Unitecloud.

Unitecloud says after it reported this instance of Islamophobia several people have come forward to report other bigoted acts by local and corporate Menards employees like anti-LGBT and anti-immigrant language in corporate newsletters.

A local Muslim woman says she was accused of being a terrorist because she bought some fertilizer for her yard.

Unitecloud is calling on Menards to denounce this pattern of behavior and provide employees with sensitivity training.

A manager at the Menards in Waite Park said he has no comment at this time and is looking into the allegations.

MUSLIM MAN KIDNAPS CHRISTIAN GIRL AND MAKES HER INTO HER INTO SEX SLAVE, SHE ESCAPES BUT THE POLICE TAKE HER AND RETURN HER BACK TO THE MUSLIM MAN AND SAY THAT SHE MUST BE HIS SEX SLAVE

By Ted on March 21, 2016 in Featured, General

By Theodore Shoebat

A Muslim man in Pakistan kidnapped a Christian girl and made her into his sex slave. She managed to escape but the police have forced her back into sex slavery. As we read in one report:

Citation:

A Pakistani Christian mother who was kidnapped and forced into an Islamic marriage with her Muslim landlord and then escaped months later has been returned to her abductor by her own family in hopes that it will spare the rest of the family from extreme persecution and arrest.

As The Christian Post previously reported, Fouzia Sadiq, a 30-year-old mother of three whose entire family works as bonded laborers in Pattoki, was abducted last July by her Muslim landlord named Muhammed Nazir.

Although Fouzia’s brother, Paris, went looking for her at Nazir’s house, he was told that Fouzia had entered into a marriage with Nazir and that she was now his property.

After months of Fouzia being held captive by Nazir, the family devised a plan to help Fouzia escape. And in February, Fouzia fled from the clutches of her abductor.

After Fouzia escaped, Nazir responded by filing a police report accusing Fouzia of stealing jewelry. On the day of Fauzia’s escape, police officers went to her family’s home at a time when only her elderly father was there and threatened to arrest a member of the family if Fouzia was not returned to Nazir.

At the time, the humanitarian organization British Pakistani Christian Association stated that if the police had caught Fouzia’s brother, he likely would have been tortured or killed. And If the police had caught Fouzia’s younger sister, she likely would have been taken to Nazir as consolation.

The BPCA offered to house Fouzia, her brother and sister in a safehouse inside Pakistan and even filed inquiries with the British Embassy and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees requesting asylum for Fouzia, her brother and sister.

Unfortunately, the British High Commission in Pakistan replied saying that asylum could not be offered because protocol doesn’t allow for consideration of asylum applications lodged abroad. Additionally, the U.N. High Commission for Refugees did not respond to the BPCA inquiry.

As BPCA was not able to procure rental property inside Pakistan fast enough and asked the family to stay with another persecuted Christian family in a house inside Pakistan, the family decided it would be in the best interest of the entire family to return Fouzia to Nazir so that Paris and other members of the family don’t face severe persecution or arrest.

“This family has gone through a torturous decision making process,” BPCA President Wilson Chowdhry told CP in an email Monday.

“They have not wanted to deliver their daughter back but the threats on their family were so extreme, including potential blasphemy law allegations and kidnap charges against Paris the brother of Fouzia, that they felt there was no other way out,” Chowdhry said. “This was an extremely low point for the BPCA and despite our remonstrations they went ahead with this plan of action completely sapped of any morale. We offered a home and much more support but the family chose to stay with an uncle rather than inconvenience the family whose home we were asking them share, whilst we sourced a more permanent safe house.”

NFL JOINS FORCES WITH HOMOSEXUAL ELITES TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST CHRISTIANS

Contact: 4 WINDS, 608-469-7956

MADISON, Wis., March 21, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- The NFL is coming against the state of Georgia for potentially passing a bill that would protect Christians who do not support gay marriage. The NFL is joined by the NBA and NCAA.

The NFL is threatening to move a potential Super Bowl from Georgia to another state if the bill is passed. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy and Atlanta Falcon's owner Arthur Blank are trying to stop House Bill 757 that would protect Christians.

The bill has passed both houses of the Georgia Legislature, but has not been signed by Republican Gov. Nathan Deal. Many Georgia businesses are against the bill including Delta Airlines, Coca-Cola, Google, Home Depot, Porsche, and Wells Fargo.

"This is another example of the gay agenda coming out against Christians," states 4 Winds Christian Athletics president Steve McConkey. "The NFL and other sport associations, plus big business, are joining forces with the gay elite establishment to penalize Christians if they do not support homosexuality. This is an attack on Christian freedom."

4 Winds Christian Athletics is a sports ministry located near the University of Wisconsin football stadium in Madison. They stand up for Christian athletes worldwide.

In 2003, Steve McConkey was the only sports minister publicly standing against the International Olympic Committee for allowing transgenders in the Olympics. He has publicly opposed the International Olympic Committee, USA Olympic Committee, NCAA, and other associations for their support of homosexuality.

McConkey recently protested the IOC because they changed their transgender policies to allow men to compete as women with only a year of hormone therapy, reversing the 2003 rule requiring surgery and two years of hormone therapy.

Steve McConkey is the president of 4 WINDS (4 Winds Christian Athletics), a sports ministry that stands up for Christian athletes. Steve regularly appears on worldwide radio and is frequently quoted in articles throughout the world. He has a Master of Public Health from Western Kentucky University with honors and a BS-Public Health from Minnesota State University, Mankato with honors. Steve and his wife started in world-class track and field ministries in 1981 and expanded to all sports in 2014. Ministry headquarters have been in Eugene, Dallas-Fort Worth, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and now Madison, Wisconsin. Steve was born in Des Moines, Iowa, but moved to NW Wisconsin after the sixth grade. He became a Christian after reading the Bible as an undergraduate. 4 WINDS produces BigPlanetWatch.com and TrackandFieldReport.com.

  • interdiction et expulsion de tout imam prêchant une religion de haine et fermeture des mosquées autorisant ces prêches recruteurs ;
  • lieux de détention réservés exclusivement aux islamistes radicalisés, loin des villes et en isolement des autres condamnés de droit commun ;

  • interdiction de retour, sur le territoire français, de tout djihadiste revenant des pays en guerre : Syrie, Irak, Libye et autres ;
  • recherche et arrestation de tout terroriste infiltré parmi les « migrants » et parvenu en France à l’aide de faux papiers ;
  • relégation à vie dans des camps de « rééducation » (Cayenne ou autres lieux) pour les terroristes condamnés rejetés par leurs pays d’origine ;
