South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who recently announced his bid for the presidency, made an even bigger, more shocking announcement on Tuesday: sometime in the “very near future,” Graham will be undergoing a sex change operation, revealing to the world that he has “always felt like a beautiful, strong woman trapped in an average man’s body.”

The stunning announcement came Tuesday morning, during a campaign stop in Iowa. Graham, who was speaking at a town hall event and answering unscreened answers from the audience, was asked by one participant if he was ever offended by the jokes made about his sexuality, with a follow-up question being why he had never married.

Graham seemed shaken by the question, and remained silent long enough for the crowd to start muttering, before he sheepishly responded. “It’s a fair question. I think… I don’t think someone can really run for the Oval Office and not be honest. Honest with the American people… honest with herself.”

Graham paused again for another lengthy period before continuing. “Folks, I need to be honest with you. You deserve my honesty. You deserve honesty from all the candidates. Friends… I’m transgender. I identify myself, internally anyway, as a transgender person. I am a woman. I’ve always been a woman, and soon, I’m going to be the woman physically that I’ve always believed I am emotionally and spiritually. I’ve always felt like a beautiful, strong woman trapped in an average man’s body. And I lied. I lied to you, to myself, to my family. I’m a woman. The lies stop here, and so does my effort to hide who I really am on the inside.”

The audience was stunned, with half of the attendees gasping audibly. But some people clapped, and others cheered, and soon, the audience was roaring with support. “Folks, I’m a woman. I’m a proud woman. I’m a proud American woman, and a proud conservative woman. Caitlyn Jenner showed all of us transgender folks that all it takes is that first courageous step, that bold effort to reveal your true self to the world, and she shows us how beautiful a transgender person can be. I’m ready for that change, America. I’m ready to become a woman. And I want you to join me on my journey. Not just my gender journey, but my journey into the White House, where as your president, I’ll make sure transgender voices big and small are heard. I am a woman, America! Hear me roar!”

The audience burst into a loud roar of applause and cheering, as several in attendance wept approvingly.  Within a few moments, some in the crowd were chanting “Lindsey” as well.

Shortly after the event, Graham’s campaign manager told a gaggle of reporters that the Senator is “expecting to undergo his, I mean, `her,’ surgery soon. We were going to hold off on making the announcement until after the GOP primary, but Senator Graham made a decision, and I fully support her.”

When asked by an MSNBC report if Ms. Graham had considered any names, the campaign manager revealed that this was something they had talked about recently. “She’s considering `Lindsay,’ with an `A,’ like her current male name, `Lindsey,’ With an ‘E.’ I think it’s a good name, a great one even. Voters won’t be confused about who she is, and I think then American people will be receptive to her new name.”

“She’s a very brave woman,” the campaign manager added. “Look out Hillary… Lindsay Graham is coming for you, and she means business!”

Pop singer Miley Cyrus recently slammed Christian conservatives for believing in “fairy tales” like the story of Noah’s ark and argued that those who hold to a traditional definition of marriage should not be permitted to make laws within the United States.

In a recent interview with Paper magazine, Cyrus, who appears nude within the publication, refers to herself as the “least judgemental person ever.”

However, the magazine notes that while she was raised in a Christian home and was baptized in a Southern Baptist church, the “Wrecking Ball” singer “maintains a particular contempt for fundamentalist lawmakers who rally against this sort of progressive, potentially life-saving changes for the LGBT community.” “Those people shouldn’t get to make our laws,” Cyrus said of Christians who hold to a traditional view of marriage.

NORFOLK (NNS) -- Sailors from Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COTF) held a commandwide observance ceremony in honor and support of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month, June 16.

Established in 2009 for the month of June, LGBT Pride Month promotes and encourages a celebration of honesty and openness within the LGBT community.

The LGBT movement was later strengthened by the repeal of the 2011 Don't Ask, Don't Tell Act creating a landmark for our country's service members and allowing gay, lesbian and bisexuals to serve openly in the United States Armed Forces.

"There have been tremendous strides in the Armed Forces and throughout the country in regards to LGBT equality," said Yeoman 2nd Class David Olvera. "The goal of our presentation is to help educate and raise awareness on major issues, both past and present that members of the LGBT community have faced."

More than 30 participants, to include service members and civilians from COTF, gathered together to learn, discuss and commemorate the sacrifice and struggle that the LGBT community has faced.

"All people deserve to live with dignity and respect, free from fear and violence, and protected against discrimination, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation," quoted from President Barack Obama's presidential proclamation May 29. "During Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, we celebrate the proud legacy (that) LGBT individuals have woven into the fabric of our Nation."

Earlier this year revisions to the Department of Defense (DoD) military equal opportunity policy was completed, updating the polity to include sexual orientation, and compelling the DoD to hold the standard of treating sexual-orientation-based discrimination equal to the discrimination of race, religion, color, sex, age and national origin.

"I can't thank the military enough, because I know that the presence of our Armed Forces has significantly impacted our human rights," said Mary Aab, guest speaker for the COTF LGBT observance. Aab is a licensed professional counselor and the director of the LGBT Center of Hampton Roads. "I hope that the LGBT movement helps to further change the mindset of many and the rights for LGBT."

The ceremony honored the courageous history of unknown veterans whom, during their service in the Armed Forces, were allowed to serve only by keeping their sexual orientation secret. In 2012, Army Brigadier General Tammy Smith became the first high-ranking officer to publicly acknowledge her sexuality and come out while still serving and acting as a role model for other service members in the Armed Forces.

"I think events such as Pride Month observance give individuals a chance to see a different side of the military that supports them no matter what," said Olvera. "It's a chance for all Sailors, no matter what rank, to come together and support basic human rights and educate others on what the LGBT community really entails."

Through these monthly observances, every effort is made to increase awareness, mutual respect and understanding of that month's designated observance, as well as promote cross-cultural and cross-gender awareness, said Olvera. The benefits of these trainings contribute to the harmony among all military members, their families and the civilian workforce.

The LGBT observance was organized by the COTF's Multi-Cultural Heritage Committee (MCHC) and concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting by Aab, the guest speaker, and Olvera, master of ceremonies.

"I call upon the people of the United States to eliminate prejudice everywhere it exists and to celebrate the great diversity of the American people," quoted from President Obama's presidential proclamation.

COTF is responsible for the essential task of testing and evaluating the warfighting capabilities of platforms, aircraft and system operations utilized by U.S. Armed Forces under realistic operational conditions. This mission-essential task determines the effectiveness, suitability and impact on mission accomplishment providing an important operational assessment on the procedures and tactics necessary for the development of new warfighting capabilities.

    Le pape François se rendra du 6 au 12 juillet en Équateur, en Bolivie et au Paraguay. Au cours de ce voyage, le pape rencontrera au Paraguay,  le 11 juillet dans le stade Leon Condou d’Asunción, le représentant d’un lobby de lesbiennes, gays, bisexuels et transsexuels.  L’information a été confirmée par la Conférence épiscopale paraguayenne.

    Le pape « révolutionnaire » s’entretiendra avec Simon Cazal, dirigeant du lobby Somos Gay, au cours d’une rencontre avec des « représentants de la société civile ».



    Dans son communiqué, la Conférence épiscopale du Paraguay a évoqué une attitude « qui privilégie le dialogue » et « la recherche de consensus et d’accords ». Ce n’est pas sans rappeler les intentions de certains prélats dans le cadre du Synode sur la Famille.

    De son côté, Simon Cazal a déclaré que la position du pape François était « beaucoup plus progressiste » que l’attitude « assez conservatrice » de l’Église paraguayenne.



    Pauvre Eglise Catholique dont ceux qui devraient en être des bergers entretiennent la confusion et s’écartent de la doctrine enseignée depuis deux millénaires.

    L’Eglise San Anton de  Madrid accueille aujourd’hui un hommage à Pedro Zerolo, leader du lobby gay en Espagne !

    Zerolo, récemment décédé, a été durant sa vie le principal promoteur du lobby gay en Espagne, et a toujours été critique vis-à-vis de la position de l’Eglise concernant le droit à la vie, la famille, la loi naturelle. 

    Pilier du lobby gay en Espagne, Pedro Zerolo avait également fait campagne pour la légalisation des unions homosexuelles en Amérique latine.

    Dans un entretien accordé au journal Faro de Vigo en 2008, il avait  déclaré : « nous ne voulons plus de crucifix dans les écoles ». 

    L’Eglise San Anton a été choisie par Mgr Carlos Osorio, archevêque de Madrid pour accueillir ce surprenant hommage à un personnage qui a vécu en contradiction avec la doctrine de l’Eglise catholique et l’a même ouvertement combattue. Fermée pendant plus de 20 ans, cette église a réouvert au printemps dernier, et 24 heures sur 24. Cette église a intégré… les dernières technologies (Wi-Fi, écrans de télévision, etc).

    Des images de la vie de Zerolo ont été projetées sur les quatre écrans disposés à l’intérieur de l’église ! On ignore encore si parmi les images exposées dans l’église, ont été incluses celles du «mariage» de Zerolo avec Jésus Santos…

    Le Synode sur la famille d’octobre 2015 continue de se préparer tranquillement : les révolutionnaires continuent leur œuvre de destruction de la famille et placent leurs pions.

    Mgr Johan Bonny, évêque d’Anvers, ne cache pas son désir de voir l’Eglise conciliaire reconnaitre l’homosexualité :

    Non seulement le scandaleux Johan Bonny est considéré comme le très probable successeur de Mgr Léonard à la tête de l’Eglise catholique de Belgique, mais il vient d’être confirmé par le Vatican qu’il sera père synodal belge sur la Famille au mois d’octobre… Pour que personne ne s’y trompe, c’est toujours le même Johan Bonny qui avait reçu de l’association LGBT gantoise un prix pour sa défense des droits LGBT.

    L’association LE M.U.R (Association Modulable Urbain Réactif), fondée en mars 2003 autour de l’artiste Jean Faucheur, est une association de promotion de l’art contemporain. Si l’on en croit son site internet, le « M.U.R emprunte à l’affichage publicitaire son format et son rituel » et met en valeur les pratiquants d’ « art urbain » (ou « street art » pour les initiés, un art de la mise en valeur du mobilier urbain aujourd’hui de plus en plus apprécié des collectionneurs).

    L’association compte parmi ses partenaires officiels la mairie de Paris, la mairie du 11ème arrondissement de la ville de Paris, la Fondation Cartier, le groupe IGS, ou bien encore le Centre Pompidou. Les peintures réalisées en atelier sont destinées à habiller le mur (dimension de 3 mètres sur 8 mètres) situé à l’angle de la rue Saint-Maur et de la rue Oberkampf. Les œuvres sont éphémères et destinées à être régulièrement remplacées.

    A première vue, la démarche peut sembler positive et donner un peu de vie à un mur qui autrement serait nu. En outre, l’association donne à de jeunes artistes la chance de se faire connaître du plus grand nombre. Cependant, par delà les meilleurs intentions affichées par les membres de l’association, certaines œuvres sont fortement politisées et présentent un message particulièrement négatif et vulgaire. L’association se sert de l’art pour faire de la propagande raciste et promouvoir l’immigration illégale.

    Sur l’œuvre exposée en ce moment (voir photo d’illustration), figurent deux mentions : « La France aux Français » barrée, et juste en dessous « Les Françaises aux Africains ». Rappelons-nous qu’une jeune fille a été violée par plusieurs hommes à Evry l’an passé, au seul motif qu’elle était « française » et donc dans l’esprit de ces jeunes barbares « une fille facile ». La mairie de Paris soutient un projet qui appelle à ne pas respecter la loi et n’hésite pas à laisser une association faire la promotion de l’immigration massive et illégale. En outre, le message « les Françaises aux Africains » est clairement raciste laissant penser que les Françaises doivent s’offrir à tous les immigrés clandestins. Anne Hidalgo doit demander instamment des explications à l’association LE M.U.R.

    Les représentants de cette branche du protestantisme en Belgique ont levé, samedi 13 juin, tout obstacle à l’exercice d’un ministère pastoral par une personne homosexuelle.

    Il sera désormais possible pour des personnes homosexuelles de devenir pasteurs dans l’Église protestante unie de Belgique. C’est ce qu’ont décidé les représentants de cette branche du protestantisme belge, réunis samedi 13 juin en Synode.

    « L’homosexualité ne constitue pas un critère permettant d’exclure des candidats au ministère pastoral », peut-on lire dans le communiqué, diffusé à l’issue de cette rencontre. Avant de souligner : « Dans le même temps, personne n’est forcé de rien. »

    Libres de choisir

    « L’Église est (…) parvenue à prendre une décision claire, en toute sérénité et dans le respect mutuel de la différence d’opinion, concernant un sujet sensible à propos duquel les avis divergent fortement au sein de l’Église. »

    Le communiqué affirme également que, conformément à la règle en vigueur dans les paroisses protestantes, les conseils presbytéraux demeurent libres de choisir leur pasteur.

    Cette décision intervient moins d’un mois après celle, prise par le synode de l’Église protestante unie de France, d’autoriser la bénédiction, par les pasteurs, de couples homosexuels mariés civilement.

    Jury selection is underway in the SPLC’s landmark consumer fraud case against a New Jersey provider of conversion therapy, which purports to turn gay people straight.

    Opening arguments in the Superior Court of New Jersey are expected to begin on either Tuesday, June 2 or Wednesday, June 3.

    The SPLC filed the suit – Michael Ferguson, et al., v. JONAH – in 2012 against conversion therapy provider JONAH for deceptive practices that lured plaintiffs into the expensive, harmful therapy.

    The case, brought under New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act, is the first of its kind nationally.

    “This case is about exposing the lie that LGBT people are mentally ill and that they need to be cured,” said David Dinielli, SPLC deputy legal director. “Groups like JONAH should not be allowed to use bogus therapy, based on junk science, to scam LGBT people and their families out of thousands of dollars.”

    The lawsuit claims that JONAH, its founder, Arthur Goldberg, and counselor Alan Downing violated New Jersey’s consumer fraud law by claiming their counseling services could cure clients of being gay, according to the lawsuit.  The plaintiffs are three young men who were harmed by the practice and two parents who paid for JONAH’s conversion therapy. The therapy can cost more than $10,000 a year.
    The SPLC has already won several key rulings in the case.

    On Feb. 5, Superior Court Judge Peter F. Bariso Jr. excluded several key defense witnesses, including Joseph Nicolosi, a founder of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), and some of the country’s other prominent conversion therapy proponents – because their opinions are based on the false premise that homosexuality is a disorder.
    Bariso wrote that “the theory that homosexuality is a disorder is not novel but – like the notion that the earth is flat and the sun revolves it – instead is outdated and refuted.”

    On Feb. 10, Bariso granted the SPLC a partial summary judgment, ruling that misrepresenting homosexuality as a disorder in marketing conversion therapy services violates the state’s consumer protection laws. It was the first time a court in the United States has found that homosexuality is not a disease and that it is fraudulent for conversion therapists to make such a claim.

    Conversion therapy has, in fact, been discredited or highly criticized by virtually all major American medical, psychiatric, psychological and professional counseling organizations. People who have undergone the therapy have reported increased anxiety, depression, and in some cases, suicidal ideation.

    The suit alleges that counselors’ techniques alienated clients from their families by encouraging them to blame their parents for being gay. Sessions included violent role play exercises in which clients beat effigies of their mother with a tennis racket.

    The lawsuit also describes sessions involving clients undressing in front of a mirror and a group session in which young men were instructed to remove their clothing and stand naked in a circle with the counselor, Downing, who was also undressed. In another session, a client was instructed to wrestle two oranges, representing testicles, from another person. 

    JONAH was formerly known as Jews Offering New Alternatives for Homosexuality. Its founder, Goldberg, is a former Wall Street executive and lawyer who was previously convicted of three counts of mail fraud and one count of conspiracy to defraud the federal government. He was disbarred.

    In addition to Nicolosi, the judge in February excluded conversion therapy supporters Christopher Doyle, James Phelan and John Diggs because, he held, their opinions are based on the false premise that homosexuality is a disorder.

    The trial begins amid a nationwide groundswell against conversion therapy. In April, the Obama administration announced support for banning the practice for LGBT youth. The move came after a national petition urged a ban following the December suicide of a 17-year-old transgender girl who earlier took part in the therapy. California, Oregon, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., have all banned the practice for minors 

    The SPLC is joined in the case by co-counsel Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton LLP and Lite DePalma Greenberg LLC. The lawsuits seeks a revocation of JONAH’s business license and restitution for plaintiffs, among other remedies.

    Dinielli, SPLC deputy legal director, James Bromley, partner at Cleary Gottlieb, and Bruce Greenberg, partner at Lite DePalma Greenberg, will be part of the plaintiff team.  The plaintiffs will be testifying.

    L’Union de l’Église évangélique méthodiste de France (UEEMF) s’est exprimée à son tour sur la décision prise par l’Église Protestante Unie de France (EPUdF) d’ouvrir la possibilité de bénir les couples de même sexe à l’occasion de leur mariage civil. En affirmant que le mariage se définit comme l’union entre un homme et une femme, ce qui rend le mariage homosexuel inconciliable avec la doctrine chrétienne, elle marque donc clairement sa désapprobation avec la décision de l’EPUdF. Elle rappelle toutefois que l’attitude de l’église doit rester une attitude d’accueil et non de rejet ou de condamnation des personnes homosexuelles.



    Dans un texte intitulé “Communiqué de l’Union de l’Église évangélique méthodiste de France sur la bénédiction de couples de même sexe” l’Église évangélique méthodiste affirme dans un premier point qu’elle considère le mariage comme une alliance sainte qui “consiste à ce qu’une femme et un homme vivent dans l’amour et le don de soi, le soutien mutuel et la fidélité” et qu’elle soutiendra toutes lois allant dans le sens de l’union entre un homme et une femme.

    Elle développe ensuite une partie sur la sexualité considérée comme un don de Dieu pour tous les êtres humains. Les relations sexuelles ne peuvent être approuvées “qu’au sein de l’alliance que constitue le mariage monogame et hétérosexuel.”

    Si l’Église Méthodiste Unie n’approuve pas la pratique de l’homosexualité, qui ne peut se concilier avec la doctrine chrétienne, la grâce de Dieu est valable pour tous, hommes ou femmes. La dimension de l’accueil de chaque membres, même homosexuels est importante et elle implore les familles et les églises de ne pas rejeter ni condamner les membres et amis homosexuels. Elle s’engage également à être au service de chacun pour l’accompagner.

    Elle se dit totalement en accord avec les conclusions du document nommé “aimer mon prochain homosexuel” publié par la Commission d’Éthique Protestante évangélique qui affirme :
    « il nous semble que deux attitudes extrêmes sont à exclure, celles des Églises qui rejettent sans autres considérations les personnes homosexuelles et celles qui bénissent leur union. Pourtant, entre ces deux extrêmes, […] il existe dans l’Église un espace pour l’accueil et l’accompagnement des personnes homosexuelles.»

    International free-trade agreements like those being negotiated with countries in the Pacific and Europe should help to export American values such as human rights, including for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people, according to seven openly homosexual U.S. ambassadors.

    The seven, joined by the State Department’s first “special envoy for LGBTI persons,” Randy Berry, signed a joint letter published Tuesday in the national gay and lesbian news magazine The Advocate, and re-posted by the White House.

    Through the President’s trade agenda, we will not only support more American jobs, but we can also promote greater justice beyond our borders,” they wrote.

    We are committed to working closely with the White House to ensure that any trade arrangement approved by Congress is a force for progress on human rights for everyone, including for LGBTI persons.”

    The letter comes as the House of Representatives prepares to vote on a contentious piece of legislation known as trade promotion authority, giving the president “fast track” authority to negotiate trade deals. The Senate passed it by a 62-37 vote last month. The administration has been lobbying hard to win support, especially from Democrats worried about the potential impact on workers and wages.

    “With America’s interests and values on the line, we hope Congress passes trade promotion authority without delay,” the diplomats wrote.

    The seven joining Berry are Ambassador to Dominican Republic James Brewster, Ambassador to Spain James Costos, Ambassador to Denmark Rufus Gifford, Ambassador to Australia John Berry, Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius, Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Daniel Baer, and Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Robert Holleyman.

    “Many of us are currently working in our host countries to promote new trade initiatives, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP),” they said.

    “In speaking about these agreements, we often use the word ‘values.’ We promote transparency, public participation, accountability and the rule of law, and we advocate for our host countries to join us in setting the global standard.

    “As the seven openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex U.S. Ambassadors and the Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons, this approach is particularly important to us.”

    The U.S. is negotiating the TPP with 11 countries in the Asia-Pacific (Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam), and the TTIP with the 28-member European Union.

    The diplomats who signed the letter said that “LGBTI persons” continue to face challenges in countries around the world.

    They did not name any countries, but of the TPP partners, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei outlaw same-sex sexual acts, according to data compiled by the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA).

    In Malaysia, anyone convicted of “carnal intercourse against the order of nature” can be imprisoned for up to 20 years, and also be flogged.

    In Singapore, a male who commits “any act of gross indecency with another male person” can be jailed for up to two years.

    Brunei punishes “carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman, or animal” with a prison term of up to 10 years, plus a fine.

    Moreover, Brunei is scheduled to introduce the death penalty for certain same-sex activity by next year – as part of a roll-out of a controversial shari’a-based legal code – although ILGA said in a report last month that it “seems unlikely to be implemented in actuality.”

    (According to ILGA data, same-sex sexual acts are illegal in 76 countries. In five – Mauritania, Sudan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Yemen – the death penalty is implemented for same-sex activity, along with some provinces in Somalia and Nigeria.)

    “Done right, trade policy is a strong complement to our broader bilateral efforts to urge partner countries to defend and protect the human rights of all individuals,” the diplomats wrote.

    “In many ways, the two issues go together: open markets promote development, raise wages, and increase living standards, which in turn goes hand-in-hand with more open and engaged societies that demand a higher standard of protection for civil rights.”

    The signatories said they were proud to be part of an administration “deeply committed” to advancing the human rights of LGBTI people, citing President Obama’s recent comment – in a statement marking International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia – that “all people deserve to live free from fear, violence, and discrimination, regardless of who they are or whom they love.”

    The administration has made the issue a foreign policy priority, and at the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva it co-sponsored in 2011 the first-ever resolution adopted by the U.N. on the human rights of LGBT people.

    Delivering a keynote Human Rights Day-themed speech in Geneva six months later, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton focused on LGBT rights, calling the issue “one of the remaining human rights challenges of our times.”

    Clinton in that speech said that failure to uphold the human rights of homosexuals and lesbians could not be justified by citing religious or cultural values.

    Présenté mardi à la presse par le cardinal Baldisseri, le cardinal Erdö et Mgr Bruno Forte, le secrétaire général du synode sur la famille et artisan de la première relatio post disceptationis qui avait introduit dans le synode des thèmes qui lui sont étrangers, le texte de travail ou Instrumentum laboris en vue des réunions d’octobre se présente de manière très différente. Sous la pression des évêques, le texte semble avoir pris davantage en compte les réels problèmes de la famille aujourd’hui, mal soutenue par la société, exposée à de nombreuses tentations et prise au risque des manipulations de la vie naissante et finissante. Il n’est plus question de « valoriser » les unions homosexuelles. En revanche, sur la question des divorcés « remariés » et leur accès à la communion une porte semble vouloir s’ouvrir : l’initiative du cardinal Kasper reste bien visible et présente.
     
    Notons au passage que le texte complet de l’Instrumentum laboris, préparé depuis novembre dernier et achevée au mois de mai par la secrétairerie générale du synode lors d’une session de travail présidée par le pape François, n’a été publié qu’en italien sur le site du Vatican. Ce n’est pas le moindre des indices de la manipulation qui eut lieu en octobre dernier lors du synode extraordinaire sur la famille : la publication simultanée en plusieurs langues de la relatio post disceptationis a nécessairement demandé un important travail en amont : elle était taillée pour prendre tout le monde de court et pour être présentée à la presse à l’issue d’une période de travail à huis-clos.
     
    Synode sur la famille : l’“Instrumentum laboris” adopté sous la présidence du pape François
     
    Le nouvel Instrumentum laboris mérite une étude approfondie : on peut dire aujourd’hui qu’il comporte assez d’éléments contradictoires pour permettre de penser que la deuxième étape du synode sur la famille sera explosive comme la première. John-Henry Westen, de LifeSiteNews, le juge « schizophrénique » en ce qu’il rappelle des vérités solides enseignées par l’Eglise en même temps qu’il a recours à des termes vagues et ouverts sur des sujets plus épineux à l’aune des modes médiatiques.
     
    Il est vrai que le cardinal Kasper, dans sa récente interview à EWTN où il assurait n’avoir soulevé la question des divorcés « remariés » qu’en tant que question (affirmation difficile à croire au vu de ses écrits et de la manière dont les choses se sont déroulées), a noté que le document final devrait être de l’ordre du compromis acceptable par tous.
     
    A propos de l’homosexualité, l’Instrumentum laboris rappelle qu’il « n’existe aucun fondement pour assimiler ou pour établir des analogies, même lointaines, entre les unions homosexuelles et le dessein de Dieu pour le mariage et la famille ». Mais on se souviendra des propositions au synode d’octobre 2014 où l’on évitait de parler de leur caractère « intrinsèquement désordonné » : le nouvel Instrumentum laboris, dans son paragraphe 78 (qui ne concerne pas les seuls homosexuels) invite à une « conversion missionnaire et un langage renouvelé » en affirmant que « le message chrétien soit être annoncé en privilégiant un langage qui suscite l’espérance ». « Il est nécessaire d’adopter une communication claire et “invitante”, ouverte, qui ne moralise pas, ni ne juge, ni ne contrôle, et qui rende témoignage de l’enseignement moral de l’Eglise, en restant en même temps sensible aux conditions de chacun », poursuit le texte. C’est au nom de tels langages d’« ouverture » que l’on peut craindre l’introduction de modifications pastorales qui portent atteinte à la doctrine alors même que celle-ci est rappelée de manière correcte.
     
    Divorcés « remariés » : l’accès à la communion par des chemins pénitentiels mal définis
     
    Pour ce qui est des divorcés, tout en assurant qu’il faut tout faire pour promouvoir le pardon à l’intérieur des couples pour éviter ce drame, et en rappelant les « blessures profondes » que provoquent les séparations chez les époux et leurs enfants, le document déclare que les « Pères synodaux ont dit l’urgence de trouver des chemins pastoraux neufs partant de la réalité des fragilités familiales ».
     
    Cet « art de l’accompagnement » s’adresse d’abord aux époux abandonnés, victimes d’injustices de la part de leur conjoint, et à leurs enfants. Ainsi l’Instrumentum laboris insiste d’abord sur l’injustice qu’engendre le divorce, et sur les divorcés non remariés qui sont les « témoins de la fidélité conjugale ». Il est question aussi des divorcés « remariés » qui, se trouvant pour diverses raisons dans des situations où ils respectent la continence, « ne savent pas qu’ils peuvent s’approcher des sacrements dans un lieu où leur situation n’est pas connue ». Mais cela n’a rien d’un « nouveau chemin pastoral »…
     
    Le paragraphe 120 emploie un langage contemporain équivoque en demandant que les divorcés « remariés » puissent ne pas se sentir exclus de la communauté « en évitant toute parole et attitude qui puisse leur donner l’impression d’être discriminés » : la discrimination est une différence de traitement qui peut être juste ou injuste, mais dans le contexte actuel elle est systématiquement jugée mauvaise. L’ambiguïté est renforcée par l’idée qu’il faut « promouvoir leur participation dans la vie de la communauté ». Leur confier les catéchismes ? Les multiples tâches qui aujourd’hui sont remises entre les mains des laïcs ? C’est bien pourquoi l’Instrumentum laboris propose de « repenser les formes d’exclusion actuellement pratiquée dans le champ liturgico-pastoral, dans le domaine éducatif ou caritatif ». « Dès lors que ces fidèles ne sont pas hors de l’Eglise, on propose de réfléchir sur l’opportunité de faire tomber ces exclusions ». Pour dire cela, le texte s’appuie sur Familiaris consortio de Jean-Paul II… qui ne disait rien de tel, se bornant à souligner que les divorcés remariés, pour obtenir les moyens du salut que l’Eglise propose à chacun, devaient prier, assister au sacrifice de la messe et tout faire pour élever chrétiennement leurs enfants, sans oublier les œuvres de charité.
     
    L’“Instrumentum laboris” ne justifie pas les unions homosexuelles, mais ne rappelle pas l’enseignement sur l’homosexualité
     
    Le paragraphe 122 pose la question qui ne peut être posée : celle de l’accès des divorcés « remariés » dans certaines conditions : « surtout lorsqu’il s’agit de cas irréversibles et liés à des obligations morales à l’égard des enfants ». Conformément au ballon d’essai lancé par le cardinal Kasper, l’Instrumentum laboris envisage un « chemin pénitentiel sous la responsabilité de l’évêque diocésain », avec une « distinction entre les situations objectives de péché et les circonstances atténuantes » puisque « l’imputabilité et la responsabilité d’une action peuvent être diminuées ou annulées » par divers « facteurs psychiques ou sociaux ». Le paragraphe 123 note que ce chemin pénitentiel peut aboutir à une décision de vivre dans la continence, ce qui n’est pas nouveau. Mais il envisage aussi le cas de jugements plus subjectifs nés de l’accompagnement spirituel par un prêtre par un « processus de clarification et une nouvelle orientation » dont les tenants et les aboutissants ne sont pas évoqués.
     
    Sur la communion spirituelle, l’Instrumentum laboris rappelle cependant qu’elle n’est possible que dans le cadre d’une conversion préalable et de l’état de grâce.
     
    C’est peut-être le manque de clarté qui est le plus gênant : aussi La Croix évoque-t-elle ouvertement la possibilité pour les « divorcés civilement remariés » de communier. Le journal des évêques note : « Le document évoque un “consensus” autour de ce “chemin” pour des divorcés remariés dont le premier mariage serait reconnu nul, qui seraient déjà engagés dans une “relation irréversible”, mais qui s’engageraient aussi “à la continence” ; ce qui pourrait impliquer de faire chambre à part. »
     
    Ce qui est pour le moins curieux : si le premier mariage, au cours d’une procédure de nullité dont les Pères synodaux seront appelés à dire si elle doit être « accélérée », est déclaré « nul », pourquoi ne pas autoriser le mariage religieux et demander la continence ? Il faut dire que la multiplicité des solutions proposées par l’Instrumentum laboris peut semer la confusion…
     
    Dans le même esprit, le rappel de la tradition orthodoxe de la « praxis matrimoniale » dont la « différence » par rapport « conception théologique de la nôtre » est certes soulignée, est purement descriptive et affirme que la bénédiction proposée lors d’un second mariage « est en soi une célébration pénitentielle pour invoquer la grâce du Saint-Esprit, afin qu’il guérisse la faiblesse humaine et reconduise les pénitents à la communion avec l’Eglise ». C’est un peu court.

    NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (NNS) -- The crew aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) recognized Pride Month June 22, during a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) celebration on the mess decks of the Floating Accommodation Facility.

    Along with a formal cake cutting ceremony, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Telly Myles, Lincoln's personnel officer, gave a presentation to the crew, and several Sailors addressed the crowd with their own personal remarks.

    According to dod.gov, President Clinton issued Proclamation No. 7316 for the first Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, June 2, 2000. The proclamation stated, "this June, recognizing the joys and sorrows that the gay and lesbian movement has witnessed and the work that remains to be done, we observe Gay and Lesbian Pride Month and celebrate the progress we have made in creating a society more inclusive and accepting of gays and lesbians."

    Abraham Lincoln Sailors used this event as an opportunity to recognize the importance of being accepted.

    "When I first came out [as gay] my family was very accepting," said Hospital Corpsman Corey Lee. "But there were some people who didn't have that acceptance, so for them, this month is the support system that they didn't grow up with."

    The support system for the LGBT community extends beyond the celebration and into the workplace.

    "The workplace is starting to become more open, and everyone's becoming more comfortable with each other," said Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Amber Streety. "This month is very close to me, because I have many friends in the LGBT community."

    During his speech, Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Ryan Wampler stated that celebrating the contributions of the LGBT community is not only a step forward within the Navy, but also sets an example for civilians to follow.

    "Policies like the repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' propel this Navy to be the finest in the world," Wampler said. "I take pride in knowing that I am part of an organization that not only values every single person in it, but is also at the forefront of key issues by setting examples for the rest of the country to follow. It is because of this train of thought so many Americans look to military personnel as role models."

    Capt. Ron Ravelo, Lincoln's commanding officer, is well known for his mantra, "Respect the ship, respect your shipmates, and respect yourselves," and reiterated it as he closed out the celebration.

    "My mantra is simple, and applies to any and every Sailor on board Lincoln," Ravelo said. "You can respect the ship by taking pride in, and showing respect for, the LGBT community. You show respect to your shipmates by taking pride in the fact that we have shipmates that serve openly and proudly.     Lincoln is currently undergoing refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries in Newport News.

    Lincoln is the fifth ship of the Nimitz-class to undergo an RCOH, a major life-cycle milestone. Once RCOH is complete, Lincoln will be one of the most modern and technologically advanced Nimitz-class aircraft carriers in the fleet and will continue to be a vital part of the nation's defense.

    (RV) C’est dans trois mois qu’aura lieu la VIIIe Rencontre mondiale des familles de Philadelphie à laquelle participera le Pape François. Les préparatifs de ce grand événement avancent comme l’ont confirmé ce jeudi devant les journalistes en salle de presse du Saint-Siège, l'archevêque de Philadelphie, Mgr Charles Chaput, le président du Conseil pontifical pour la famille, Mgr Vincenzo Paglia ainsi qu’un couple de l’archidiocèse de Philadelphie, marié depuis 50 ans conviés.

    La Rencontre aura lieu du 22 au 27 septembre prochain sur le thème « L'amour est notre mission : la famille pleinement vivante », une semaine avant le deuxième synode sur la famille d’octobre. Compte-rendu de cet état des lieux avec Hélène Destombes

    Près de 12 000 inscriptions, 100 pays représentés, Etats-Unis et Canada en tête, suivis du Vietnam, de la République dominicaine et du Nigéria. Cette rencontre, Mgr Vincenzo Paglia la veut « mondiale ». Elle doit permettre de « mettre les familles au centre de l’attention de l’Eglise mais aussi de la société civile » indique le président du Conseil pontifical pour la famille. « Toutes les familles, sans exception, sont invitées » à participer à ce grand évènement. Il débutera par un congrès de quatre jours, du 22 au 25 septembre qui, selon Mgr Charles Chaput, l'archevêque de Philadelphie, devrait réunir 15 000 participants venus du monde entier.

    Le Pape rejoindra ensuite les familles à Philadelphie pour deux jours les 26 et 27 septembre. Moment très attendu : la messe que le Saint-Père présidera le dimanche pour clôturer la « Rencontre mondiale des familles ». « Un à deux millions de fidèles y sont attendus ». C’est au terme de cette célébration, a annoncé Mgr Paglia, que le Pape François remettra un million de copies de l'Evangile selon saint-Luc, celui qui présente le modèle de la Sainte Famille. Ils seront distribués aux familles les plus pauvres de 5 villes qui représentent les 5 continents : Marseille, Kinshasa, La Havane, Hanoï et Sydney.

    An Islamic State flier purports to reveal the details of a Quran memorization contest held in Syria from June 21 through June 27, 2015, to celebrate Ramadan.

    As a way of celebrating the the month-long Islamic festival of Ramadan, the Islamic State terrorist organization is holding a seven-day Quran memorization contest in which the top three competitors will receive a sex slave as their grand prizes.

    ISIS' fliers, believed to have been circulated around the Hasakah province of Syria, now renamed Barakah, were posted to social media outlets last Friday advertising the contest.

    According to a tweet from Rita Katz, director of one of the leading counter-terror monitoring organizations SITE Intelligence Group, the advertisement states that the top winners of the Quran memorization contest will receive female slaves as a reward for their Quranic knowledge.

    "Purported #ISIS document lists 'Sabaya [female slaves]' as prize in Qur'anic memorization contest," Katz posted in her tweet last Saturday, along with a photo of the handout.

    The contest began on Sunday and is scheduled to end on June 27. The contest will be held inside mosques within the group's Syrian caliphate, including the Osama bin Laden mosque and the mosque of Abu Musab el-Zarqawi.

    According to the Clarion Project translation of the advertisement, militants finishing in fourth through 10th places will receive cash consolation prizes, instead of sex slaves, which will be offered to men who rank in first, second and third places.

    The fourth place contestant will receive 100,000 Syrian lira ($462) and the prize total decreases by 10,000 lira for each competitor until the ninth and 10th place participants both receive 50,000 lira.

    "We ask the great lord to make your life easier and to grant you with what he loves and what pleases him," the translated version of the advertisement reads.

    As ISIS has become notorious for abducting thousands of religious minority girls and women and selling them and abusing them as sex slaves, Clarion Project's National Security Analyst Ryan Mauro told Fox News that giving sex slaves away as part of the Quran contest is an attempt by the terror group to proclaim that its brutality against women is the correct way of practicing Islam.

    Mauro added that ISIS will not be affected by the international condemnation it receives for its inhumane and torturous treatment of women.
    "By showcasing its slavery, ISIS is boasting that it practices Islam in its most literal interpretation, doesn't capitulate to public opinion and rejects modern interpretations," Mauro asserted.

    According to the Clarion Project, it's not uncommon to see Quran memorization contests held during Ramadan, as many are held throughout the world during the holiday to celebrate the month in which Muhammad came up with the Quran.

    "Ramadan is a time of year where Muslims are meant to rejuvenate their faith," a June 21 Clarion Project report states. "Memorizing the Quran is considered a pious and worthy thing to do and many memorization competitions are held around the world, especially during Ramadan."

    The report added that the chapters of the Quran that the ISIS flier highlighted for militants to memorize for the contest include some of the most jihad-centered texts in the book.

    "Links to the chapters of the Quran that have been chosen for the competition are provided. The chapters selected by the Islamic State include some of the most warlike passages in the entire Quran," the report added. "Jihadists also consider Ramadan to be the optimal month for Jihad. Last year the Islamic State proclaimed a Caliphate on the first day of Ramadan."

    The day after declaring Obamacare magically rewritten and that the lawsuits against discrimination in housing require no proof of actual discrimination, the Supreme Court found a unicorn in the 14th Amendment.

    By a vote of 5-4, the Supreme Court ruled that the right to privacy under that aforementioned 14th Amendment (adopted in 1868, when every state in America criminalized sodomy) requires that every state in America grant marriage licenses to men who want to marry men and women who want to marry women, and that every state recognize such licenses from every other state.

    By this point, nobody should be surprised that the Supreme Court sees new rights in its Cheerios. As our Supreme Rulers, the Supreme Court can declare what they want to declare, since rule of law died long ago at the hands of leftist deconstruction of language. But this decision is particularly galling to those who believe words have meaning and that government is not God. The Court rejects both of those claims. Words have no meaning; they are merely tools to be used in implementation of the utopian agenda of the far-left. Government is God, a dignity-conferring institution capable of making moral that which religion teaches is sinful, logic teaches is worthless, and societal experience teaches is societally counterproductive.

    Naturally, Justice Anthony Kennedy, who has made it his lifelong work to read same-sex rights into the Constitution (this, after all is the man who once wrote, based wholly on the authority of the voices in his head, that the Constitution mandates “respect” for sodomy), delivered the majority opinion.

    Kennedy opens by essentially paraphrasing himself in the pro-abortion case Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1989), in which he established one of his many preferred fantasy rights: “At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life.” This time, he simply says that people have a right to “within a lawful realm, define and express their identity.” Of course, the Court defines that “lawful realm” at its whim; otherwise Charles Manson would simply have been expressing his Constitutional rights. Same-sex marriage falls within that lawful realm, says Kennedy, although he fails to explain how the state not granting people a piece of paper equates to preventing them from expressing their identity. Presumably the states will now be required to give Rachel Dolezal a race-change certificate.

    Kennedy then launches into a history of marriage:

    From their beginning to their most recent page, the annals of human history reveal the transcendent importance of marriage. The lifelong union of a man and a woman always has promised nobility and dignity to all persons, without regard to their station in life. Marriage is sacred to those who live by their religions and offers unique fulfillment to those who find meaning in the secular realm. Its dynamic allows two people to find a life that could not be found alone, for a marriage becomes greater than just the two persons. Rising from the most basic human needs, marriage is essential to our most profound hopes and aspirations.




    Kennedy quotes everyone from Confucius to Cicero on the importance of marriage. Then, begrudgingly, he admits, “It is fair and necessary to say these references were based on the understanding that marriage is a union between two persons of the opposite sex.” He adds, patronizingly, that the view that such a definition is the only definition “has been held – and continues to be held – in good faith by reasonable and sincere people here and throughout the world.”

    But those people are wrong, because Justice Kennedy says so. Justice Kennedy and his brethren know that the importance of marriage rests on fundamentally redefining it, just as Barack Obama knows that the importance of America rests on fundamentally changing it. Marriage’s foundational nature is so important that it must be redefined into meaninglessness:

    The petitioners acknowledge this history but contend that these cases cannot end there. Were their intent to demean the revered idea and reality of marriage, the petitioners’ claims would be of a different order. But that is neither their purpose nor their submission. To the contrary, it is the enduring importance of marriage that underlies the petitioners’ contentions. This, they say, is their whole point. Far from seeking to devalue marriage, the petitioners seek it for themselves because of their respect—and need—for its privileges and responsibilities. And their immutable nature dictates that same-sex marriage is their only real path to this profound commitment.




    In other words, Kennedy and the Court now contend that the intent of those who want to change marriage is a defining feature here, and that since people are born gay, this is their only path to happiness. Presumably, if the intent of a polyandrous group were to extend dignity to themselves, that too would be acceptable, given that polyandry is widely practiced throughout humanity and in the animal kingdom as well. It is worth noting here that Kennedy’s contention that sexual orientation is “immutable nature” now places sexual orientation on the same level as race for purposes of law. We will return to this point shortly.

    Kennedy continues by telling the lovelorn stories of star-crossed homosexual lovers who do not have the same privileges as those who marry those of opposite sex. It’s all very moving, and it all sounds very much like Justice Kennedy looks forward to home-viewing Cate Blanchett’s Carol, and it’s all very irrelevant to legality.

    But Kennedy has no truck with legality. So Kennedy goes on to pretend that arranged marriages and coverture, which have been abandoned, were as integral to marriage itself as the sex of the participants. This is equivalent to arguing that changing the air freshener hanging from your rearview mirror changes the fundamental nature of your automobile the same way removing the transmission would. But no matter: the Godhead is lecturing. So he tells us about the history of gay and lesbian rights in the United States, drones on about the evils of the American Psychiatric Association, and blathers about the case law of homosexuality.

    All of this is chaff. The kernel comes next:

    The nature of injustice is that we may not always see it in our own times. The generations that wrote and ratified the Bill of Rights and the Fourteenth Amendment did not presume to know the extent of freedom in all of its dimensions, and so they entrusted to future generations a charter protecting the right of all persons to enjoy liberty as we learn its meaning. When new insight reveals discord between the Constitution’s central protections and a received legal stricture, a claim to liberty must be addressed.




    And that, as they say, is that. That is the entirety of the legal argumentation of Justice Kennedy and the majority. They know better. They have declared. End of story. Prior case law assuming marriage to be between a man and a woman – moot (the Court, says the Court, “made assumptions defined by the world and time of which it is part,” as opposed to this Court, which has been blessed with the eternal knowledge of Justice Kennedy and his leftist colleagues). The rationale for marriage – moot (marriage, Kennedy blithely declares, is not about producing, bearing, and raising children, but about other more important principles).

    Kennedy says that marriage rests on four bases:

    (1) Individual autonomy: “There is dignity in the bond between two men or two women who seek to marry and in their autonomy to make such profound choices.” Why individual autonomy requires a government-issued license is anyone’s guess; as Chief Justice Roberts writes in dissent, “petitioners do not seek privacy. Quite the opposite, they seek public recognition of their relationships, along with corresponding government benefits.” Justice Scalia, as usual, is more scathing: “Who ever thought that intimacy and spirituality [whatever that means] were freedoms? And if intimacy is, one would think Freedom of Intimacy is abridged rather than expanded by marriage. Ask the nearest hippie.”

    (2) Commitment: “Marriage responds to the universal fear that a lonely person might call out only to find no one there. It offers the hope of companionship and understanding and assurance that while both still live there will be someone to care for the other.” Of course, loneliness is not a legal argument.

    (3) Childbearing and rearing: “t safeguards children and families and thus draws meaning from related rights of childrearing, procreation, and education.” This one, for obvious reasons, is problematic for the majority, so they simply elide the issue by saying gay couples must marry because gay couples have adopted children (“children suffer the stigma of knowing their families are somehow lesser”). Never mind that gay couples cannot produce children or whether children are better off with straight couples. We simply assume the conclusion, and the rest follows. And this particular aspect of marriage – the key aspect in world history – is not that important anyhow, the Court declares: “The constitutional marriage right has many aspects, of which childbearing is only one.”


    (4) Keystone of the social order: “Marriage remains a building block of our national community. For that reason, just as a couple vows to support each other, so does society pledge to support the couple, offering symbolic recognition and material benefits to protect and nourish the union.” This ignores why marriage is a building block: it protects children, allows them to grow up healthy and whole, and prevents the breakdown of the social order itself, which we have seen as childbearing out of wedlock has increased dramatically. But since the left doesn’t care about childbearing out of wedlock, and childbearing is just “only one” aspect of marriage, no matter: marriage is a cornerstone, though the majority undermines its reason for being one.

    In the end, Kennedy’s case is simply that to be against same-sex marriage is bigotry: “It demeans gays and lesbians for the State to lock them out of a central institution of the Nation’s society.” With breathtaking arrogance, Kennedy concludes:

    The limitation of marriage to opposite-sex couples may long have seemed natural and just, but its inconsistency with the central meaning of the fundamental right to marry is now manifest.




    For thousands of years, everybody got it wrong. For hundreds of years, every American state got it wrong. Today, the vast majority of the planet’s population gets it wrong, and so do hundreds of millions of Americans. But their wrongness is “manifest.” Why? Because Kennedy says so.

    But he goes even further: he explains that rights emanate not from God or nature, but from the wise oligarchs of the government, who can reinterpret rights as they see fit:

    [R]ights come not from ancient sources alone. They rise, too, from a better informed understanding of how constitutional imperatives define a liberty that remains urgent in our own era.




    Better understanding by whom? By the government, of course. Which means that since the government is God, it can change the definition of fundamental rights and institutions at whim. Is polygamy on the table? Why, exactly, wouldn’t it be? It fulfills all four marital criteria Kennedy lays out – and who is to say that those criteria will not change over time, just as the criteria for opposite-sex partners changed?

    Then Kennedy drops the most dangerous line of all:

    Many who deem same-sex marriage to be wrong reach that conclusion based on decent and honorable religious or philosophical premises, and neither they nor their beliefs are disparaged here. But when that sincere, personal opposition becomes enacted law and public policy, the necessary consequence is to put the imprimatur of the State itself on an exclusion that soon demeans or stigmatizes those whose own liberty is then denied.




    Under this rubric, religious Americans can kiss their own liberties goodbye. It does not matter whether religious Americans stand for traditional marriage because of their religion or because of secular concerns. They are, for all Kennedy’s pretty words to the contrary, to be considered legal bigots. If religious people must be excluded from public policy, there will be no protections for them in law anywhere.

    Kennedy defines same-sex marriage as a “fundamental right,” which is what allows the Court to overturn the vast majority of state laws, and further prevents states from rejecting marital benefits to everyone equally (if you have a right to a marriage certificate, you have a right to marriage certificate). That redefinition will also allow the Court to overturn the First Amendment protections of freedom of religion. Kennedy pays lip service to religious freedom:

    Finally, it must be emphasized that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine precepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned. The First Amendment ensures that religious organizations and persons are given proper protection as they seek to teach the principles that are so fulfilling and so central to their lives and faiths, and to their own deep aspirations to continue the family structure they have long revered.




    This, to put it mildly, is bullshit. Anyone who relies on the Supreme Court to protect the rights of religious schools not to employ members of same-sex couples and operate with business licenses and state imprimaturs of accreditation; or the rights of religious institutions not to perform same-sex marriages and operate as businesses or non-profits; or the rights of parents to home school their children and teach them about the absence of value in same-sex sexual activity and marriage, without the interference of the state – all of those people are whistling past the graveyard in which the Supreme Court has dismembered and buried the Constitution in a shallow hole.

    Justice Kennedy just redefined a fundamental right and forced elected state governments to slap their stamp of approval on that right. He then went on to equate sexual orientation with immutable characteristics like skin color, meaning that buried in this decision is the far more important decision that private parties across the country must acknowledge and embrace same-sex marriage under the Civil Rights Act. The First Amendment will be no protection. Why wouldn’t the Court, with or without Kennedy, rip away religious freedoms on the basis of a new fundamental right? If the Court can declare a new fundamental right, why can’t it chop away at an old one we now realize must change based on a “better informed understanding of how constitutional imperatives define a liberty that remains urgent in our own era”?

    The majority opinion drew three dissents. The first, by the disappointing Chief Justice Roberts, is a basic legal case that even if you like same-sex marriage, there is no fundamental right to its redefinition by governments. “Whether same-sex marriage is a good idea should be of no concern to us. Under the Constitution, judges have power to say what the law is, not what it should be,” Roberts writes, in a line that would have been far more convincing before he rewrote Obamacare in favor of how it should have been written according to him. He concludes:

    If you are among the many Americans—of whatever sexual orientation—who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it.




    Justice Thomas agrees, explaining that the Constitution protects negative liberties, not positive grants of privileges; he further explains, rightly, that the majority’s assumption that government confers dignity through marriage is nonsense (“The government cannot bestow dignity, and it cannot take it away”). He then notes the threat to religious liberty:

    Religious liberty is about more than just the protection for “religious organizations and persons… as they seek to teach the principles that are so ful- filling and so central to their lives and faiths.” Ibid. Religious liberty is about freedom of action in matters of religion generally, and the scope of that liberty is directly correlated to the civil restraints placed upon religious practice.




    Not for long.

    Justice Scalia’s own dissent is significantly more fiery. Calling the decision a “judicial Putsch,” he writes:

    t is not of special importance to me what the law says about marriage. It is of overwhelming importance, however, who it is that rules me. Today’s decree says that my Ruler, and the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast, is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court. The opinion in these cases is the furthest extension in fact— and the furthest extension one can even imagine—of the Court’s claimed power to create “liberties” that the Constitution and its Amendments neglect to mention. This practice of constitutional revision by an unelected commit- tee of nine, always accompanied (as it is today) by extravagant praise of liberty, robs the People of the most important liberty they asserted in the Declaration of Independence and won in the Revolution of 1776: the freedom to govern themselves.




    But in the idolatry of the left, we do not have the freedom to govern ourselves, nor even to rely the old God for our values and truths. Our betters will lead us. And they will grant any right they see fit, and reject any liberty they see fit, and redefine any term they see fit. Democracy in America did not die with jackboots; it died with the boredom and stupidity of an American people complicit in its demise, celebrating the circuses and the games provided by its new rulers, fat and happy in their submission. Let the parades be held; let the call go forth. By the power vested in them by, well, them, the Supreme Court and the left declare Americans husbands and husbands, wives and wives — and all of them slaves.

    La visite du pape François pour la Rencontre mondiale des familles aidera à « redynamiser » la vie de l’Église, estime l’archevêque de Philadelphie. Il espère que ce rassemblement sera un « moment générateur » pour les individus et les familles.

    « Je vois la Rencontre mondiale des familles comme un grand moment pour l'Église à Philadelphie », a déclaré Mgr Charles Joseph Chaput, archevêque de Philadelphie. Il a confié ses espérances pour la Rencontre des familles en Philadelphie en septembre 2015 au service en anglais de Zenit (Deborah Lubov).

    « Nous devons faire en sorte »  que ce rassemblement « soit un moment vraiment positif et générateur pour les individus et les familles, afin qu'ils améliorent réellement leur vie de famille et se réengagent à l'amour sacrificiel plus profond dans le service des autres membres de la famille. Voilà mon espoir et voilà notre objectif », a affirmé l’archevêque.

    Mgr Chaput estime que la visite du pape François « va être extrêmement importante pour Philadelphie » : elle « servira à nous redynamiser et à nous donner beaucoup de confiance en soi. »

    L’archevêque de Philadelphie avoue qu’aux États-Unis, les Rencontres mondiales des Familles ne suscitaient pas un grand intérêt : « J’étais à la dernière à Milan, il y a eu très peu d'Américains. Donc, j’ai un espoir que cet événement aux États-Unis pourrait être le début d'une plus grande participation de la part de notre partie du monde dans la Rencontre mondiale des Familles. »

    Mgr Chaput voit dans la Rencontre en Philadelphie « une continuité » avec « une approche novatrice à l'évangélisation des familles qui a été créée par le pape Jean-Paul II ». Pour Mgr Chaput, les problèmes qui touchent des familles aujourd’hui sont encore plus graves qu’à l’époque du pape Jean-Paul II. C’est pourquoi il se dit « heureux » de la décision du pape François de poursuivre l’œuvre de son prédécesseur auprès des familles.

    L’archevêque fait observer le lien existant entre la Rencontre des familles en Philadelphie et le Synode sur les familles d’octobre 2015 : « Peut-être les grands thèmes et les conversations vont-ils trouver leur chemin dans le Synode. » « La providence de Dieu » a « placé » la Rencontre des familles avant le début du travail du Synode, «nous espérons que la providence de Dieu va mettre les deux événements ensemble », a conclu Mgr Chaput.

    One NYPD policeman proved he really is New York's finest as he showed off some of his sexiest moves while dancing with a marcher during the city's Gay Pride Parade on Sunday afternoon.

    The video shows the cop throwing his arms behind his head and shaking his hips with the marcher before turning around so they could both show off some impressive body rolls.

    The policeman got so into it he began waving his arms up and down as he grooved, clutching his cap in one hand as the pair grooved to Michael Jackson's Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.

    After the Supreme Court's landmark ruling on same-sex marriage last week, the heavyweights of evangelical Christianity -- like Franklin Graham, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention -- charged forward to voice their discontent. = 2 evangelical false christian churches and association playing the good guy, but both are part of the destruction of christianity by their association with the Jesuit Roman Empire who since the beginning only works to destroy the true christianity.

    Yet a smaller but equally impassioned group of evangelicals celebrated the fact that marriage equality is no longer just a dream for LGBT couples across America. And it's these leaders who may be pointing to the future of the movement.

    About 100 evangelical pastors and leaders signed an online letter published Friday supporting the ruling, and then went one step further by calling on Christians around the country to continue to work for LGBT rights in other areas -- like bullying in schools and employment and housing discrimination.

    "As Evangelical pastors and leaders, we believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is a message of good news for all people," the letter read. "For far too long, we have been silent and complicit in the discrimination and marginalization of LGBTQ people around the world. Today, we commit to no longer stand by while discrimination and inequity flourish, but to lift our voices on behalf of all of God's children."

    The letter, released by the evangelical RISE Network, included signatures from Richard Cizik, a former leader within the National Association of Evangelicals, Dr. David Gushee, a Christian ethicist, and Randy Thomas, a former leader of the defunct ex-gay ministry Exodus International.

    Many of the pastors who signed the letter have faced backlash for showing their support for gay marriage, including Rev. Danny Cortez, the pastor for California's New Heart Community Church. The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America, kicked the church out of its fellowship after Cortez changed his views on marriage equality. = Pure hypocrisy, the Southern Baptist church is completely masonic.

    "I believed for years that marriage should only be between one man and one woman," Cortez said. "But as I began relationships with LGBT persons, I saw that my beliefs had been destructive and not in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The church doesn't have to fear the positive changes happening in our nation." = The church has to fear, the coming judgment of the Lord is at the door. He will not tolerate anymore these heresies and abominations in His church and in the land.

    On the same day RISE released its letter, more than 100 evangelical leaders signed their own letter defending the idea that God designed marriage to be between a man and a woman.

    Evangelicals are the largest religious group in America, making up 25.4 percent of the country, according to The Pew Research Center. They have been relatively slow to support same-sex marriage compared to members of other religious traditions. But that doesn't mean their views haven't changed -- about 27 percent of white evangelical Protestants support same-sex marriage in 2015, compared to 11 percent in 2004.

    This change in tone towards LGBT people appears to be resonating the most with younger evangelicals. White evangelical millennials are much more accepting of LGBT couples than older generations. = Thank's to the Jesuits and to the Vatican who control the school education system who control and pervet the soul and spirit of the children. All the school system is under the control of the luciferian communist system. Most of the churches are infiltrated and controled by this same false church of Christ. What can we except?

    About 43 percent of white evangelical Protestants between ages 18 and 33 support same-sex marriage, compared to 19 percent of those who are 68 and older, according to a 2014 Public Religion Research Institute survey.

    Still, Rev. Stan Mitchell, pastor of Nashville's GracePointe church, lost about one-third of his weekly attendees after he announced in January that he would fully affirm LGBT members. But he's refused to budge.

    The response Mitchell received from fellow evangelicals falls in line with comments from Rob Schwarzwalder, the Family Research Council's vice president. In a piece written for Real Clear Religion, he suggested that evangelicals who support same-sex marriage no longer have a claim to that name. =
    Family Research Council is also a masonic christian evangelical church. By that, Rome control both side and their agenda can continue without any damage.

    "Those professed Evangelicals who are willing to jettison the Bible's teaching regarding homosexuality can no longer claim to be persons of the Gospel -- Evangelicals," Schwarzwalder wrote. "They are diminishing what God's Word teaches about sin."

    But according to Time magazine, Mitchell has traced his change of heart back to the four basic tenets of the evangelical tradition -- scriptural authority, a focus on the cross, personal conviction and conversion, and finally, activism.

    "As Christians who believe in the resurrection, we see that our LGBT friends have long suffered," Mitchell said. "It's my Christian and evangelical tradition that reminds me that suffering is always joined to the suffering of God, and will not only be overcome, but redeemed. This is just the beginning, and we have a long way to go."

    GREAT LAKES, Ill. (NNS) -- Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes hosted its first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) pride month observance June 30.

    June was first designed as the month to celebrate LGBT pride by a presidential proclamation in 2000. It has been designated by proclamation each year since 2009 as well. In that time, the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy was repealed and, most recently, same-sex couples have been granted marriage rights by the U.S. Supreme Court.

    "That progression puts a smile on my face," said Yeoman 2nd Class (SW/AW) Patrick Moore, the command master chief's yeoman. "I played a small piece, but all those different leaders that made a way for me, making it easier for Sailors that I can lead and letting them know they can do this for the long yard, which is 20 years, 20 plus years, even be admirals."

    The observance marked the first celebration of LBGT pride month at TSC and is a way to celebrate the diversity of this command.

    "Our Navy continues to be strong due to its diversity and its acceptance and the contributions of all people," said Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Isom, TSC operations officer.

    Moore, who also serves as the vice president of the peer-to-peer support and advocacy organization Gay, Lesbian and Supportive Sailors (GLASS), was the keynote speaker during the ceremony.

    "In the seven years I've served, I've been able to watch the changes in the military and the world," he said. "Playing a role in the LGBT community as an activist, an advocate and throughout the fleet as a Gay, Lesbian and Supporting Sailor officer, I've been able to educate my peers, my coworkers and leaders, that no matter what I am or what I do, my sexual orientation isn't what defines me as a Sailor."
