Widespread movement to opt-out of Obama's televised speech to children

Following widespread concern about President Obama's nationally televised address to schoolchildren, many parents and schools are opting to forgo the Sept. 8 speech.

School officials have been asked to take a break from normal educational activities to allow students to view the speech from the president and participate in recommended brainstorming exercises following the broadcast. Obama will give the speech at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Va. The speech is scheduled to broadcast live at 12 noon EST on C-SPAN and at whitehouse.gov.

But parents across the nation are complaining about the speech taking up valuable classroom instruction time and possibly "indoctrinating" young children.

According to a letter from U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, "The president will challenge students to work hard, set educational goals, and take responsibility for their learning. …

"He will also call for a shared responsibility and commitment on the part of students, parents and educators to ensure that every child in every school receives the best education possible so they can compete in the global economy for good jobs and live rewarding and productive lives as American citizens."

Some schools allow parents to opt-out

Donald Phillips, superintendent of California's Poway Unified School District, sent a letter to parents Wednesday announcing that the district "will not be encouraging" teachers to include the viewing of the president's speech as a part of a supplemental classroom learning activity. If teachers choose to do so, they must inform parents by Friday and give them an opportunity to opt-out of the Tuesday broadcast.

Students who opt-out will be assigned alternate learning activities outside of the classroom during the speech and any follow-up discussions.

Additionally, the district is providing a link to a copy of the president's speech so parents may decide whether they want to view it at home with their children.

"We believe the president's address would be the most beneficial if you choose to view it together at home as a family," the memo states. "We believe any discussion with your child or children around the importance of education and goal-setting could be both meaningful and appropriate."

Officials with Texas' Keller Independent School District said they will allow students to view the presidential address. However, a district notice states, "If parents do not want their student(s) to watch the broadcast, parents may dismiss their student(s) during that time and not be penalized." Additionally, the children will not be required to use the United States Education Department materials for suggested brainstorming assignments after the speech. Many Texas school districts are asking parents to contact principals if they do not wish for their children to view the speech while several schools have opted not to show the broadcast.

Stephanie Klick, Tarrant County Republican Party chairwoman, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that many Texas families are speaking out against plans to air the broadcast in schools.

"We're hearing from parents and grandparents that are not very happy. They really feel like it is political indoctrination," Klick said. "People don't like this. I have heard from some families that are planning to keep their kids home."

The Houston Independent School District has directed principals to give parents advance notice if they are planning lessons around Obama's speech. Parents may opt-out their children. According to a Houston Chronicle report, "Children pulled out of school for the day will cost districts about $35 per child, as state funding for schools is based on daily attendance."

In Utah, school districts are taking precautions ahead of the speech, according to KSL 5 News. Salt Lake City School District is advising schools to have teachers notify parents if they plan on airing the address in class, and then allowing an opt-out. Some principals will be sending home notices if their schools plan to show the speech.

One Utah father told the Deseret News he will pull his four children out of school rather than allow them to watch the Obama broadcast.

"We will go on a picnic and read the Constitution – learn something useful," he said.

Wisconsin school districts have been hearing from concerned parents, according to the Associated Press
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2009/09/03/0903obama.html . Palm Beach County, Fla., public schools may not run the broadcast. In Columbia, Mo., a district spokeswoman said kids won't be seeing the speech at all.

Meanwhile, Atlas Shrugs' Pamela Gellar blasted the White House and the Department of Education for spelling errors in its "Indoctrination Day" announcement, noting that she will keep her children home from school on Sept. 8.

Geller took this screenshot of the announcement:



"Yes, your education tax dollars at work," Geller wrote. "Math, geography, spelling, English – that's for fascists! What's important is junk science, global hoaxes, and the green-colored slave labor market. Live for the sake of 'the man' and like it."

She continued, "Obama, stay away from my children. ... My kids will not be in school on the 8th (and neither should yours)."

Objections to president's speech

Several bloggers discussed their thoughts on the president's address to schoolchildren on the Free Republic website. The following are some comments about the upcoming speech:

I'm so mad right now, I think my head will explode.

You don't mess with people's kids! There's a line, and he'd better no cross it or he will cause a revolution in this country.

This idea reeks of Bill Ayers.

He is treading on very dangerous ground.

Thank God we live in Alaska. That's 8 a.m. up here, and most of the students are still eating breakfast. I'll read the transcrïpt later in case I want to experience nausea.
Why does this have to be a live broadcast? Why must all schools halt at the appointed time to listen to our dear leader? It doesn't accommodate children or the families very well.

Isn't it time for parents to organize a national campaign to pull their kids out of school on that day?

Have you called your local school today to express your opinion about the Obama propaganda video and lesson plan? If not, now is a good time. Even if you do not have children in school, you pay taxes to support it and you have to live with the results of its teachings, so you have a stake in the outcome.

I would keep my kid out for the whole day instead of just a couple of hours – the school districts receive an amount per student based on their daily attendance, so the thing to do is to hit them in the pocketbook, where it hurts.

I will be keeping both of my children out the entire day. Our school district has said they will be airing the speech and also have other activities planned around it. Knowing what some of these school boards and administrators are like, those activities could be more damaging than an Obama speech.

I assume brownshirts will be taking the names of those who opt out.

Several people referred to Sept. 8 as "National Keep Your Kids at Home Day."

The Nationwide Tea Party Coalition announced its "Hall Pass on That" website, with several suggested actions for parents who do not approve of their children participating in the presentation. The coalition offers the following suggestions:

Contact the child's school to find out whether it is participating in the program.

If your child's school is participating, ask what alternatives there are for the children of families who wish for their students to learn about the establishment of the country respective to the Founding Fathers' intentions. Discussions may focus on the Constitution, the definition and actions of a republic and the responsibility of elected leaders to their constituents.

Ask if the school can excuse your child from the presentation and instead receive a DVD of the address and copy of the activity directives to be evaluated by parents at a later date.
Request a meeting with the school board, superintendent and principal to inquire as to why parents were excluded from the decision-making process of this event.

Pre- and post-speech lesson plans

The Education Department has been encouraging teachers to create lesson plans around the speech, using materials provided on the department website.

As WND reported, worksheets provided by the U.S. Department of Education encouraged teachers to ask pre-K through 6th-grade students the following questions:

What is the president trying to tell me to do?
What is the president asking me to do?
What new ideas and actions is the president challenging me to think about?
Students may be asked to write down "key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful, make posters of their goals, create a "supportive community" by sharing those goals with one another.

Junior-high and high-school students may be asked to brainstorm answers to the following questions before the speech:

Why does President Obama want to speak with us today?
How will he inspire us?
How will he challenge us?
What might he say?

They are encouraged to take notes while Obama speaks about personal responsibility, goals or persistence. As part of a "guided discussion," they may talk about what Obama has inspired or challenged them to do.

Fox News reported that the White House is now "rethinking" its course recommendations for students and rewriting its suggestions for student assignments on how to "help the president."

Among the activities suggested for pre-K to 6th grade students were to "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president" and discuss what "the president wants us to do."

According to the report, the suggestion about writing letters has been changed to: "Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by the teacher to make students accountable to their goals."

Lessons prompt concerns about 'illegal activity'

The Texas Justice Foundation warned the proposed '"classroom activities'" for teachers as to how they should handle the president's Sept. 8th speech to American schoolchildren, reveal that illegal activity may occur, if the recommendations are followed."

"The questions, comments, evaluations and analysis that occurs before, during, and after the president's speech will clearly 'reveal information concerning political affiliations' and probably, 'critical appraisals of other individuals with whom the child(ren) has/have close family relationships' (such as parents)," the foundation said in a press release. "This is perhaps one of the greatest invasions of personal privacy and injecting political affiliation into the public school system in the history of the United States."

The group said the speech may violate protections provided in the Pupil Rights Amendment.

"It also violates 34 Code of Federal Regulations Section 98.4[c] [1] and [2] that defines psychological testing as:
(1) Psychiatric or psychological examination or test means a method of obtaining information, including a group activity, that is not directly related to academic instruction and that is designed to elicit information about attitudes, habits, traits, opinions, beliefs or feelings; (emphasis added)

(2) Psychiatric or psychological treatment means an activity involving the planned, systematic use of methods or techniques that are not directly related to academic instruction and that is designed to affect behavioral, emotional, or attitudinal characteristics of an individual or group. (emphasis added)

Texas Justice Foundation warned that the group activities suggested by the Department of Education "are not directly related to academic instruction and that are designed to elicit information about attitudes, habits, traits, opinions, beliefs, or feelings."

"At this time of intense controversy over the president's far-reaching plans to transform America, it is incredible that he would consider using children to advance his political agenda," Justice Foundation President Allan Parker said. "It violates the constitutional right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children, federal law and is perhaps the greatest intrusion of a president into the education process in the history of the United States. In the opinion of the Texas Justice Foundation lawyers, it is both morally and legally wrong."

'Public relations tactic gone too far'

Neal McCluskey, associate director of the Center for Educational Freedom, objected to the Obama administration message to schoolchildren in a Cato Institute article titled, "Hey Obama, leave those kids alone."

"It's one thing for a president to encourage all kids to work hard and stay in school – that's a reasonable use of the bully pulpit," McCluskey wrote. "It's another thing entirely, however, to have the U.S. Department of Education send detailed instructions to public schools nationwide on how to glorify the president and the presidency, and push them to drive social change. Frighteningly, this is what President Obama has done."

McCluskey objected to Department of Education-suggested classroom activities for pre-K-6 students encouraging children to make posters setting out "community and country" goals.

"Perhaps even more frightening is the lesson schools are pushed to teach that it is important to listen to 'the president and other elected officials,'" he wrote. "Possibly most distressing of all, though, is guidance that appears explicitly designed to glorify both the presidency and President Obama himself …"

He said the White House is trying to use its power over education to "indoctrinate children, something completely antithetical to a free society."

Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder condemned Obama's speech as a "public relations tactic" that has gone too far.

"I believe that if parents choose to keep their children at home during this presentation, they should be able to do so without any consequences being imposed upon their children," Kinder said. "And if local school districts across Missouri choose not to make this speech mandatory for students, they should not face any penalties for the state or federal government."

Jim Greer, chairman of the Florida Republican Party, said in a statement that he believes Obama's speech may be a platform "to spread" his "socialist ideology."

"As the father of four children, I am absolutely appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama's socialist ideology. The idea that school children across our nation will be forced to watch the president justify his plans for government-run health care, banks, and automobile companies, increasing taxes on those who create jobs, and racking up more debt than any other president, is not only infuriating, but goes against beliefs of the majority of Americans, while bypassing American parents through an invasive abuse of power."

He continued, "While I support educating our children to respect both the office of the American president and the value of community service, I do not support using our children as tools to spread liberal propaganda. The address scheduled for Sept. 8, 2009, does not allow for healthy debate on the president's agenda, but rather obligates the youngest children in our public school system to agree with our president's initiatives or be ostracized by their teachers and classmates."

PARIS (Reuters) - Muslim pupils and parents in France are increasingly making religious demands on the state school system that teachers should rebuff by explaining the country's secular principles, according to an official report.

"We should now reaffirm secularism and train teachers how to deal with specific problems linked to the respect for this principle," it said.

France's strict separation of church and state relegates religion to the private sphere, an approach challenged by a growing Islamic identity among some of the five million Muslims in the country's 65 million population.

Teachers often faced objections when they taught courses about world religions, the Holocaust or France's war in Algeria, or discussed events related to Israel and the Palestinians or American military actions in Muslim countries, the study said.

"Teachers regularly find that Muslim parents refuse to have their children learn about Christianity," it said. "Some think it amounts to evangelisation."

"Anti-Semitism ... surfaces during courses about the Holocaust, such as inappropriate jokes and refusals to watch films" about Nazi concentration camps, it said. "Tensions often come from pupils who identify themselves as Muslims."

Teachers found they could discuss the trans-atlantic slave trade but met criticism from pupils when they brought up the history of slavery within Africa or in the Middle East.

Reflecting the promotion of anti-Darwinist thinking in Muslim countries, "evolution is challenged by pupils who posit divine or creationist action without any argument for it."

In some areas with large immigrant populations, many pupils shun school cafeterias for religious reasons, even though most offer alternative dishes when pork is on the menu.

"Demand for halal menus is strong, even for the very young in public crches," it said. "In some cities, there are petitions for halal -- and sometimes kosher -- meals."

During Ramadan, some Muslim pupils harass others who don't observe the annual daytime fast, it said. Boys who identify themselves as Muslims and reject French values harass girls who do well in class as "collaborators" with the "dirty French."

Some girls ask to be excused from gymnasium or pool sessions because they are not supposed to mix with boys, it added.

The report said French schools must insist on co-education, equal rights and mutual respect. "Being a French citizen means accepting challenges to one's opinions ... this is the price to pay for the freedom of opinion and expression.

"Must we recall that the crime of blasphemy has not existed in France since the French Revolution?" it asked.

"The principle of secularism leads to a profound relativisation of religion. This is a philosophical upheaval that religions only consent to with difficulty," it said.

IP #1: READ YOUR CHILD'S TEXTBOOK AND EVALUATE THE MISINFORMATION

First of all, you should familiarize yourself with your child's textbooks, particularly the Social Studies-History textbook. If you feel qualified, you can review the unit on Islam yourself, or you can request a local scholar to review it for you.

In either case, the review should be done in writing. All examples of misinformation should be cited, and most importantly, a corrected version of each example should also be provided.

TIP #2: ARRANGE TO MEET THE TEACHER AND THE DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM

Once the review has been completed and typed in an organized, clear manner, you should request a meeting with your child's teacher, as well as the Director of the Curriculum for the entire school district.

The teacher will be able to incorporate the recommended changes in the corrected version in his/her own classroom, and the District Director of Curriculum will be able to incorporate the changes in classrooms district-wide.

TIP #3: APPROACH THE MEETING AS A CONTRIBUTOR TO SOLVE PROBLEMS

It is critical to remember that when meeting with the teacher and the director, a calm, friendly, yet concerned manner should be employed.

Blaming the teacher for the misinformation would be a grievous mistake.

Teachers are overburdened as it is just trying to teach their students, and they do not determine the contents of the texts.

The best approach is to take the position that you have some concerns about the treatment of Islam in the text, and that you would like to help alleviate some of the problems.

By taking the approach of a helper, you can change the entire dynamic of the meeting.

At that point, you can supply the teachers and director with the review and the corrections, as well as any additional material you feel would help the teacher teach more accurately about Islam.

For example, they can obtain An Introduction to Islamic History Teacher's Resource Book for Grades 7-12 (contact the Council on Islamic Education).

TIP #4: SOLIDIFY YOUR CONTACT WITH THE SCHOOL AND TEACHER

Additionally, you can request that one day, the classroom or entire school can have Muslim guest speakers come and make a presentation about Islam.

Also, refer the teacher to resources such as Islamic centers, the Council on Islamic Education, and other organizations.

Furthermore, consider donating a Quran and copies of An Introduction to Islamic History and Teaching About Islam: A Handbook for Educators to your child's school.

La nouvelle ministre du Monopole de l'Éducation, Line Beauchamp, joint sa voix à celle du premier ministre pour interpeler les parents sur leur rôle et leurs responsabilités. « Il y a une publicité télé et radiophonique qui est diffusée où on illustre ça en disant que les parents font partie de l'équation. Et c'est exactement le même message que livrait M. Charest. Ce n'est pas un message nouveau du gouvernement, on a décidé de mettre l'accent là-dessus », a dit la ministre en parlant d'une position assumée.

Il est certain que les parents ont un rôle et une responsabilité et il est bon de l'entendre dire de la part de l'État. Encore faudrait-il que l'État ne les « tasse » pas, ne les évince pas quand ils veulent justement avoir leur mot à dire sur les programmes que leurs enfants devront suivre, la pédagogie que leur école adoptera, le bulletin que celle-ci utilisera et pourquoi pas le type d'examen que leurs enfants passeront. Car s'il y a choix de pédagogie et de programme, il doit y avoir des examens différents organisés au besoin par des organismes tiers. Cela se pratique dans d'autres pays où l'on peut choisir entre l'examen du ministère de l'Éducation local, des examens de type baccalauréat international, le baccalauréat français (c'est déjà le cas au Québec) et les examens communs d'entrée de différentes universités regroupées à cet effet.

Faut-il revenir ici sur la bataille autour du cours ECR ? Le slogan des parents réfractaires n'est-il pas justement : « C'est aux parents de choisir, pas au gouvernement ! » ? Qu'a fait le gouvernement devant ces parents qui voulait avoir le choix de la formation morale, philosophique et religieuse de leurs enfants ? Il s'est obstiné à dire et à faire en sorte qu'aucune exemption ne serait accordée, il savait lui ce qui était bon pour les enfants de ces parents trop jaloux de leurs prérogatives de premiers éducateurs. Quel message a-t-il envoyé à tous les parents ? Qu'il faut se payer un avocat, débourser une petite fortune et aller jusqu'en Cour suprême pour espérer avoir son mot à dire dans la transmission de ses valeurs morales et philosophiques à l'école ?

Il en va de même des réformes pédagogiques imposées d'en haut et en rien sollicitées par les parents et dont l'utilité n'a en rien été démontrée. D'aucuns pensent que ces réformes de programme ont justement été imposées pour réaliser une coupure entre les parents et l'école, afin que les enfants de parents bien éduqués se retrouvent aussi démunis que les autres devant le nouveau langage hermétique adopté par le Monopole de l'Éducation. Le tout bien sûr avec la noble intention de donner la même chance à tous et de briser la reproduction des élites chère à Bourdieu.

D'après nos informations, cette activité, concoctée par des universitaires payés par nos impôts, est infligée dans le cadre du cours ÉCR à de jeunes enfants de 13 à 14 ans au collège Charlemagne de Montréal au début 2009. Cette photocopie nous a été remise par des parents montréalais outrés de ce questionnaire auquel a été soumis un de leurs enfants sans leur consentement. Pourquoi si tôt ? Probablement parce que la sexualité peut être traitée au premier cycle du secondaire selon le programme d'ÉCR. Voir « La transformation des valeurs et des normes », p. 536 avec l'indication pédagogique suivante : « Faire prendre conscience aux élèves qu’il existe, selon les individus ou les groupes, différentes façons de comprendre l’ordre social [ici la sexualité] et d’y réagir. »



Il faut préciser qu'il se peut que les enseignants de l'école Charlemagne aient fait preuve d'impatience, mais nous ne sommes pas sûrs que même à 16-17 ans ce genre de contenu explicite doive être discuté en classe sans que les parents en soient avisés. Ce genre de document ne devrait pas choquer ceux qui visitent la polyvalente de leurs enfants. Lors de mon dernier passage, j'ai remarqué une très grande affiche bien visible depuis les couloirs dans les toilettes des garçons qui leur demandait d'assurer leur bout (grosse capote jaune à l'appui). Et ceci dans un établissement qui accueille des enfants dès 12 ans. Dans le même registre, dans la bibliothèque des brochures pour les jeunes homosexuels pour qu'ils osent se dévoiler et comprendre leur véritable sexualité. (Je rassure tout de suite les lecteurs : des brochures pour les écolières lesbiennes sont également disponibles gratuitement.) Et ensuite, Le Devoir se demande pourquoi les jeunes filles québécoises sont hypersexualisées…

Now, what do you suppose would have happened if this school took it's kids to a Baptist church, and had them kneel to receieve Jesus Christ?

So where is the Liberal outrage at this event? Where is the "seperation of church and state" crowd? They are nowhere to be found because their rules only apply to Liberal causes and Liberal ideals. This is why we never take what Liberals say seriously, because it is always hopelessly skewed and miles from the truth. But what this field trip was really meant to do was to act as a "trial balloon", to see if there would be outrage about it. Was there? Have you heard about this story before now? No, expect to see this experiment repeated hundreds of times over in the months to come.

Teaching Islam in Public School textbooks

An Islamic "jihad" is an effort by Muslims to convince "others to take up worthy causes, such as funding medical research," according to a middle school textbook used in California and other states. And even at its most violent, "jihad" simply is Muslims fighting "to protect themselves from those who would do them harm," says the "History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond" book published by Teachers' Curriculum Institute. But a parent whose child has been handed the text in a Sacramento district is accusing the publisher of a pro-Muslim bias to the point that Islamic theology has been incorporated into the public school teachings. "It makes an attempt to seem like an egalitarian world history book, but on closer inspection you find that seven (not all are titled so) of the chapters deal with Islam or Muslim subjects," wrote the parent, whose name was being withheld, in a letter to WND.



Remember when American textbooks featured America as the cornerstone of the world? Not any more.

The upsetting part is not only do they go into the history (which would be acceptable) but also the teaching of Islam," she said. "This book does not really go into Christianity or the teachings of Christ, nor does it address religious doctrine elsewhere to the degree it does Islam." She said the book's one page referencing Jews "is only to convey that they were tortured by Crusaders to get them to convert to 'Christianity.' (It fails to mention that the biggest persecutors of Jews throughout history and still today are Arab Muslims). It gives four other one-liner references to the Jews being blamed for the plagues and problems in the land. It does not talk about the Jews as making a significant impact on the culture at large." "How can the writers of this text get away with this?" she asked. Bert Bower, founder of TCI, said not only did his company have experts review the book, but the state of California also reviewed it, and has approved it for use in public schools. He said the company tries to move history out from between the covers of a textbook and into students' minds, and that is how the book was developed. "Keep in mind when looking at this particular book scholars from all over California (reviewed it)," he said. "We have our own scholars who created the program, California scholars look at the program and makes sure [it] is accurate."

One of those experts who contributed to the text, according to the American Textbook Council, which released a scathing indictment of the project, is Ayad Al-Qazzaz. "Al-Qazzaz is a Muslim apologist, a frequent speaker in Northern California school districts promoting Islam and Arab causes," the ATC review said.

"Al-Qazzaz also co-wrote AWAIR's 'Arab World Notebook.' AWAIR stands for Arab World and Islamic Resources, an opaque, proselytizing 'non-profit organization' that conducts teacher workshops and sells supplementary materials to schools." The textbook council, an independent national research group set up in 1989 to review history and social studies texts in public schools, quoted directly from the book to provide evidence of its bias. The word jihad means "to strive." Jihad represents the human struggle to overcome difficulties and do things that would be pleasing to God. Muslims strive to respond positively to personal difficulties as well as worldly challenges. For instance, they might work to become better people, reform society, or correct injustice. Jihad has always been an important Islamic concept. One hadith, or account of Muhammad, tells about the prophet's return from a battle. He declared that he and his men had carried out the "lesser jihad," the external struggle against oppression.

The "greater jihad," he said, was the fight against evil within oneself. Examples of the greater jihad include working hard for a goal, giving up a bad habit, getting an education, or obeying your parents when you may not want to. Another hadith says that Muslims should fulfill jihad with the heart, tongue, and hand. Muslims use the heart in their struggle to resist evil. The tongue may convince others to take up worthy causes, such as funding medical research. Hands may perform good works and correct wrongs.

Sometimes, however, jihad becomes a physical struggle. The Quran tells Muslims to fight to protect themselves from those who would do them harm or to right a terrible wrong. Early Muslims considered their efforts to protect their territory and extend their rule over other regions to be a form of jihad. However, the Quran forbade Muslims to force others to convert to Islam. So, non-Muslims who came under Muslim rule were allowed to practice their faiths." The council, in describing the text as a book written by "dictation from Islamic sources," said such passages "should put speculation to rest about what California's seventh-grade students may learn about Islam. At the very least, the passages are incomplete.

More precisely, they are dishonest." Such passages fail to explain "the essentially religious nature of the subject," the council said. "It ignores any challenge to international security and western-style law. The treatment is lyrical and loaded, echoing the language recommended by Islamist consultants." The Sacramento parent said she became suspicious because of the school's decision to send a copy of the book home with her son and he started describing how it would teach students to write in Arabic. A review left her even more worried. "I was disturbed probably the greatest portion of this book is about Islam. It goes into the doctrine of Islam in detail," she said. "There are 35 chapters. Out of those, I counted at least seven [that focus] on Islam." She said she looked at the publication's list of contributors, and found the name of Ayad Al-Qazzaz, whom she'd had herself for a class on Middle Eastern studies." source - WND

(CNSNews.com) – The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is signaling its intention to dominate the national sex education agenda.

Specifically, Planned Parenthood's Web site announced the group is preparing to launch a nationwide “social change initiative” to end the “stigma and shame about sex” in American culture.

The project aims to teach parents and caregivers how to educate children about sex -- from birth. And it recommends telling teenagers about masturbation, oral sex and “where to go for help to prepare to be sexually active.”

The “Real Life. Real Talk” initiative began as a pilot program in communities in Maine, New York, Connecticut, and Arizona between 2004 and 2008, according to a report about the initiative that is for sale on the project’s Web site.

Now Planned Parenthood is preparing to launch the program nationwide, with funding from donors and private groups, including The Ford Foundation.

“Real Life. Real Talk" is based on the belief that reducing the shame and stigma attached to sex also reduces a barrier to sexual and reproductive health services, eventually reducing the rates of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, and unintended pregnancies.

The initiative is geared to parents and caregivers of children aged 8 to 18. In the four pilot states, parents were invited to attend workshops where they received Planned Parenthood’s guide to “Sex Ed for Parents, Real Life. Real Talk." The events were held at different community venues, including schools, churches, social services facilities and libraries.

The "Real Life. Real Talk" guide, offered in English and Spanish, is tailored to specific groups of parents and caregivers, including grandparents raising their grandchildren, “queer parents,” and parents of children in elementary school.”

A "Parent Tips" section of the "Real Life. Real Talk" Web site says children are never too young to learn about sex. It states, in part:

“A child’s sexuality, sexual feelings, and sexual attitudes develop from the moment of Birth -- even before a child can speak. In fact, children start learning about sexuality through observation of family interaction and surroundings. When you don’t talk with your children about sexuality, you may give them the message that there is something wrong with sexuality and that it is not a topic you’re willing to discuss.”

“You can begin teaching your young child the basics of sexuality — anatomy, reproduction, sexual orientation, personal safety, feelings, relationships — as well as your own values,” reads the document. “As children grow and mature, they will be more interested in details about pregnancy and birth, the changes of puberty, etc.”

Another section, entitled "Conversation Starters," tells parents to be “factual" and to "clear up slang” when answering questions. It offers examples of children's questions, including slang for female masturbation and oral sex.

One talk-to-your-child tip includes the following bulleted item: “Take your child to the drugstore and point out the pads, tampons, condoms, etc. Take your teen to a clinic for contraception and exams, or let your teen know where to go for help to prepare to be sexually active.”

The Web site’s “Teen Reality” tab includes videos, including a “Don’t Dance with Death” video written by high school students in McAllen, Texas. It features a “witch” giving young girls a potion and a condom before they go to a high school dance. One of the girls then gives the condom to the boy with whom she is dancing.

The report on "Real Life. Real Talk" says the initiative will be marketed nationwide through TV public service announcements, print ads, radio, posters, bus shelters and other promotional materials such as T-shirts.

According to its annual report for Fiscal Year 2008-2009, Planned Parenthood’s income from government grants and contracts totaled $363.2 million, up for $349.6 million for the previous fiscal year.

Mansfield backs away from Arabic studies program Star Telegram

The Mansfield school district has backed off plans to implement an Arabic studies program after almost 200 people showed up with questions at a parents meeting at Cross Timbers Intermediate School on Monday night.

Superintendent Bob Morrison apologized for not communicating with parents and invited them to be part of developing the curriculum.

"Nothing will be taught in the classroom until the curriculum is rolled out," said Richie Escovedo, Mansfield district spokesperson.

The Arabic studies program, funded by a federal five-year $1.3 million Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant, was to begin this semester at Cross Timbers, then spread to Davis Elementary and Howard Middle Schools in the fall and to Summit High school by the fall of 2012.

Arabic culture was to be integrated into the curriculum in elementary and intermediate schools, then offered as a language credit in the middle and high schools. Davis, Cross Timbers and Howard are feeder schools to Summit High School.

"Part of the grant language brings in targeted instruction that will be embedded in the classes," Escovedo explained. "Algebra comes from the Arabic world. You talk about things while you’re doing your lessons. Instead of a Valentine's cake, you might make a Moroccan dessert."

Parents attending Monday night's meeting ranged from supportive to upset, said Willie Wimbrey, assistant principal at Cross Timbers.

"We had people who were animatedly fearful of anything to do with Islam," Wimbrey said. "Others want their children exposed to everything. Others who say we teach about Christmas, why not other religions? All cultures and major religions are taught throughout the state."

Cindy Henderson, whose son Kolton is in the fifth grade at Cross Timbers, said she wasn't as upset about the content of the program as she was about the way it was implemented.

"The parents weren't notified," Henderson said. "We should have been told and excited about the grant. The school knew about it, but it wasn't publicized. Unless you were digging on the website, you wouldn't know about it."

Her son is excited about learning about the Middle East, but Henderson doesn't think Arabic studies should be mandatory.

"I don't think we should spend all our time on one culture," she said. "I think we should spread it around and be fair. I don't like it being stuffed down our throats."

What is often lost in this discussion is the idea that the Board has the right and duty to exercise quality control over the content of its textbooks, and it would be reasonable for any such body to be concerned about bias, double standards, and agenda-driven statements in those books. The problem that responsibility is encountering here is Islam's already privileged status, where anything but accolades is to be met with knee-jerk accusations of the worst possible intentions, so as to shut down the discussion and silence dissent.

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas State Board of Education adopted a resolution Friday that seeks to curtail references to Islam in Texas textbooks, as social conservative board members warned of what they describe as a creeping Middle Eastern influence in the nation's publishing industry.

The board approved the one-page nonbinding resolution, which urges textbook publishers to limit what they print about Islam in world history books, by a 7-5 vote.

Critics say it's another example of the ideological board trying to politicize public education in the Lone Star State. Kathy Miller, president of the Texas Freedom Network, which advocates for religious freedom, questioned why the resolution came at a time when "anti-Muslim rhetoric in this country has reached fever pitch."

From that, you'd think those of us who criticize Islam's teachings were rampaging in the streets, setting fire to piles of tires, hurling stones at government buildings, and calling for bloodshed.

Not us. But that's precisely what has happened in Afghanistan over a Qur'an burning that never happened, and even the rumor of burnings.

"It's hard not to conclude that the misleading claims in this resolution are either based on ignorance of what's in the textbooks or, on the other hand, are an example of fear-mongering and playing politics," Miller said.

Future boards that will choose the state's next generation of social studies texts will not be bound by the resolution.

"This is an expression of the board's opinion, so it does not have an affect on any particular textbook," said David Anderson, the general counsel for the Texas Education Agency, when asked by a board member what legal weight the resolution would carry.

"So this is a cosmetic exercise?" asked board member Mavis Knight, a Democrat from Dallas.

The resolution cites world history books no longer used in Texas schools that it says devoted more lines of text to Islamic beliefs and practices than Christian ones. Chairwoman Gail Lowe said the resolution cites old books because board rules prohibit them from discussing current books more than 90 days after their adoption.

"I believe that it's happening in the current (social studies books) even though we can't cover that in the resolution," said board member Terri Leo, a Republican from Spring. The resolution sends a "clear message to publishers that it should not happen in the future."

The resolution also claims "more such discriminatory treatment of religion may occur as Middle Easterners buy into the U.S. public school textbook oligopoly, as they are doing now." [...]

The resolution concludes by warning publishers the "State Board of Education will look to reject future prejudicial social studies submissions that continue to offend Texas law with respect to treatment of the world's major religious groups by significant inequalities of coverage space-wise and by demonizing or lionizing one or more of them over others."
Eminently reasonable concerns.

***02.09.11 UPDATE*** After the release of this story yesterday, the Mansfield School District announced that the mandatory Arabic language program was being put ”on hold”

MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) – Some Students at Mansfield ISD schools could soon be learning Arabic as a required language. The school district wants students at select schools to take Arabic language and culture classes as part of a federally funded grant. The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education.

As part of the five-year $1.3 Million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. The program would also be optional for students at T. A. Howard Middle School and Summit High School.

Parents at Cross Timbers say they were caught off-guard by the program, and were surprised the district only told them about it in a meeting Monday night between parents and Mansfield ISD Superintendent Bob Morrison.

The DOE has identified Arabic as a ‘language of the future.’ But parent Joseph Balson was frustrated by the past. “Why are we just now finding out about it?” asked Balson. “It’s them (Mansfield ISD) applying for the grant, getting it approved and them now saying they’ll go back and change it only when they were caught trying to implement this plan without parents knowing about it.”

Trisha Savage thinks it will offer a well-rounded education. “I think its a great opportunity that will open doors. We need to think globally and act locally.”

Some parents had concerns over religion. “The school doesn’t teach Christianity, so I don’t want them teaching Islam,” said parent Baron Kane. During Monday’s meeting Morrison stressed the curriculum would not be about religion, but about Arabic language and culture, similar to the Spanish curriculum already in place in the district.

Kheirieh Hannun was born in the Middle East but raised in the U.S. She believes giving students the option to learn Arabic will give her son and others like him the option to learn more about their culture. “It was surprising, but I think it’s okay, and it will help come down on the stereotype.” Hannun says she is hopeful the class could broaden the minds of not only students, but also parents. VATICAN CITY, JAN. 1, 2012 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI says it can seem astonishing how "ultimately short and ephemeral life is," but he affirms that what gives meaning to our days is "written on the face of a Child who was born in Bethlehem 2,000 years ago, and is today the Living One, risen for ever from the dead."

The Pope offered that reflection last evening at vespers for today's feast of Mary, Mother of God.

"From within the fabric of humanity, rent asunder by so much injustice, wickedness and violence, there bursts forth in an unforeseen way the joyful and liberating novelty of Christ our Saviour, who leads us to contemplate the goodness and tenderness of God through the mystery of his Incarnation and Birth," the Holy Father said. The Pontiff affirmed that today, "to assume responsibility for educating young people in knowledge of the truth, in fundamental values and virtues, is to look to the future with hope."

Benedict XVI called for an education of conscience, and said it begins in the home. "It is essentially about helping infants, children and adolescents to develop a personality that combines a profound sense of JUSTICE with respect for their neighbour, with a capacity to address conflicts without arrogance, with the inner strength to bear witness to good, even when it involves sacrifice, with forgiveness and reconciliation. Thus they will be able to become people of peace and builders of PEACE."

While a California school district is seeing a boom in interest in a controversial educational philosophy that goes back more than 100 years, at the same time it's fighting a lawsuit over whether the system is legal in public schools.

California's capital city offers two Waldorf-inspired public schools -- John Morse Waldorf Methods School (K-8), and the high school George Washington Carver School of Arts and Sciences. The Sacramento City Unified School District now is facing a trial in federal court on allegations that those schools are religious, making them ineligible to receive taxpayer dollars.

The lawsuit, filed in 1998 by the group People for Legal and Nonsectarian Schools, is just now making it to trial after several appeals. In an interview with The Sacramento Bee, the president of PLANS uses phrases like "cult-like religious sect" and "new-age religion" to describe the activities at the schools.

Dr. Bruce Shortt, author of The Harsh Truth about Public Schools, explains to OneNewsNow that the Waldorf system is based on a dangerous philosophy called "anthroposophy" from the writings of 19th-century Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner.

"And in those writings he basically posits that the universe is driven by conflict between Lucifer and the god of darkness called 'Ahriman' -- and his educational philosophy is built around that conflict," says Shortt. "...In fact, in his view Christ came to earth as a 'son god' to balance the forces of light and darkness."

The author says these views are reflected in The Waldorf Teachers Survival Guide.

"As a matter of fact, quoting from the guide, it says 'most of what contributes to our work as teachers -- preparation work, artistic work, even meditative work -- is under the guardianship of Lucifer. We can become great teachers under his supervision....' And it continues in that vein."

Although the Waldorf system is primarily offered through private education, the demand for Waldorf public schools has grown to more than 40 across the country, including two dozen in California.

A 15-year-old Wisconsin student has been "censored and punished" for expressing his Christian beliefs – supporting the biblical family view – in a school newspaper op-ed article about homosexuality and same-sex parent adoption.

Brandon Wegner, a contributor for Shawano High student paper "The Hawk's Post," wrote the editorial column in support of children being raised in a home by a mother and a father.

He cited various authorities and sources, including scrïpture, in defense of his opinions. Wegner argued that children raised in an environment in which the mother and father are present had the best chance for success and that homosexual adoption should be prohibited. His article was released in conjunction with an opposing viewpoint provided by another student, Maddie Marquardt, also "The Hawk's Post" copy editor. Marquardt countered in her argument that gay couples should be able to adopt because the foster system is broken and children need a two-parent home.

School officials at Shawano School District were alerted to the editorial column by a homosexual parent who wrote a formal complaint that Wegner's opinion "constituted as hate speech" and could "cause kids to commit suicide."

Following the complaint, the District issued a written statement apologizing for Wegner's column. It stated that "offensive articles cultivating a negative environment of disrespect are not appropriate or condoned by the Shawano School District," USA Today reported.

"We sincerely apologize to anyone we may have offended and are taking steps to prevent items of this nature from happening in the future," the statement continued.

Subscribe to Penny Starr's posts (CNSNews.com) – The textbooks used to educate Palestinian children who live in refugee camps came under fire at a briefing on Wednesday on Capitol Hill where experts said lessons of intolerance and hatred toward Jews and Israel fill the books’ pages.

Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), chairman of the House subcommittee on Human Rights and co-chairman of the Bi-Partisan Coalition for Combating Anti-Semitism, told CNSNews.com that U.S. donations to the United Nations Refugee and Works Agency (UNRWA) make the federal government accountable for what is in the books.

“We are responsible for the content and the content has been, year in and year out, explosively anti-Semitic, anti-American and anti-Israeli,” Smith said, at the event he hosted with the Center for Near-East Policy Research, which is based in Jerusalem and which has studied the topic extensively .

Since the UNRWA began operations in 1950 in the wake of the Arab-Israeli war of 1948, the United States has been the largest contributor to the agency. The UNRWA oversees the health, education, and social services of some 5 million registered Palestinian refugees, including those in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS), “Since UNRWA’s inception in 1950, the United States has provided the agency with nearly $4 billion in contributions.”

The CRS reports that U.S. contributions to the UNRWA have steadily increased over the past decade, with nearly $228 million given in [fiscal year] 2010.

Arnon Groiss, author of a comprehensive study on Middle Eastern textbooks who has advised the U.S. State Department and testified before the U.S. Congress, brought some of the textbooks to the congressional Rayburn Building on Thursday to share specifics of what the experts consider objectionable.

Groiss' report on the textbooks, "Teaching the 'Right of Return' in UNRWA Schools," was distributed at the event. The report had been commissioned by the Council for Religious Institutions in the Holy Land, an interfaith association of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim leaders.

The study shows, for example, that on the cover and on page 7 of the National Education textbook for Grade 2, the image of a Palestinian stamp has a blank square where the Hebrew scrïpt that is on the stamp has been removed. (See picture on left.)

In a Reading and Texts book (2011) for Grade 9, p.24, the instructions tell the student to “reconcile between the following poetical lines and the feelings they express”:

“The morning of glory and red liberty watered by the martyrs’ blood … the hope for the Liberation of Palestine.”

In the textbook National Education, Grade 7 (2011), pp. 20-21, it says, "The Zionist colonialist greedy ambitions in Palestine started in 1882. ... The coming of the Jewish throngs to Palestine continued until 1948 and their goal was taking over the Palestinian lands and then taking the original inhabitants' place after their expulsin and extermination. ..."

In the book, Our Beautiful Language, Grade 7, Part 1, 2001, p.81, there is a poem entitled The Martyr that, in part, reads: "Hearing [weapons'] clash is pleasant to my ear and the flow of blood gladdens my soul/ As we as a body thrown upon the ground skirmished over by the desert predators/ ... By your life! This is the death of men and whoever asks for a noble death -- here it is!"

In the book Readings and Texts, Grade 8, Part 2, 2003, p. 16, it says, "Your enemies killed your children, split open your women's bellies, took your revered elderly people by the beard and led them to the death pits ...."

In Our Beautiful Language, Grade 5, Part 1 (2011), p. 50, there is a poem about the Palestinaian "Right of Return" entitled "We Shall Return." It says in part: "Return, return, we shall return/ Borders shall not exist, nor citadels and fortresses/ Cry out, O those who have left:/ we shall return!/ [We] shall return to the homes, to the valleys, to the mountains/ Under the flag of glory, Jihad and struggle/ With blood, sacrifice [fida], fraternity and loyalty/ We shall return/ ... To jihad in the hills; [to] harvest in the land."

In Reading and Texts, Grade 8, Part 1 (2009), p.66, it states: "O brother, the oppressors have exceeded all bounds and Jihad and sacrifice [fida] are imperative ...."

Congressman Smith said the United States should put conditions on the funding the UNRWA receives, including a mandate to clean up the textbooks.

“It would be based on a certification where the president would have to certify that the UNWRA textbooks are completely excised of all anti-Semitic hate,” Smith said, adding that “zero tolerance on hate in those textbooks” should be the benchmark.

“And so, if you teach kids to hate when they’re very, very young and just keep feeding them that kind of formula for violence, why are we surprised when they strap on dynamite and other kinds of explosives to kill themselves and think they’re doing a good thing?” Smith said. “They’ve been taught. And we have to be much more emphatic – zero tolerance on hate in those textbooks.”

Author David Bedein of the Center for Near East Policy said at the event that the refugee camp schools regularly promote the “Right of Return,” which supports Palestinians’ right to reclaim the property abandoned or lost in the 1948 war, even if that property – or the city or village where it was once located – no longer exists."

“This perceived right also applies to the refugee’s descendants with no limit of number, time or place of birth,” Groiss wrote in an essay on the “Right of Return.”

In his conclusion, Groiss said the “Right of Return” is tied to the elimination of Israel and helps “propagate this non-peaceful line, in absolute contradiction to the (UNWRA) declared mission.”

Un autre domaine important où ce gouvernement mondial, ce gouvernement qui se prend pour Dieu et via des lois au niveau de la protection de la jeunesse, s'est insurgé dans les familles afin d'établir de nouvelles règles concernant l'éducation des enfants. Dans cet article il est question de la fessée. Plusieurs pays ont passé des lois similaires afin de soi-disant protéger les enfants contre les dangereux parents qui corrigent leur(s) enfant(s). Comme toujours, on va toujours amener sur la table des cas extrêmes qui n'ont rien à voir avec l'éducation elle-même, pour mousser cet agenda et changer les lois.

Les conséquences désastreuses sur la famille sont énormes. Nous n'avons qu'à regarder autour de nous pour voir cette société "d'enfant roi", d'enfants désobéissants et de plus en plus remplis de violence. Le parent n'osant plus intervenir pour arrêter la folie de ces jeunes, qui dès le jeune âge apprennent par leur professeur ou par des intervenants à dénoncer l'attitude "malsaine" de leurs parents qui lèveraient la main sur eux afin de les corriger pour les éloigner de leur folie.

Le gouvernement ne fait aucune différence entre battre un enfant et le corriger. Tout est mis dans la même eau du bain. Dès que vous corrigez votre enfant, le parent est perçu comme un danger pour son enfant. C'est le genre de brainwashing que reçoivent les travailleurs sociaux.

Les enfants-roi, une fois devenus grands deviennent, dans la majorité des cas, des tyrans, des délinquants n'obéissants à aucune loi. Et nos bons gouvernements passent des lois de plus en plus pour tenir le(s) parent(s) responsable(s) des actes commis par leur(s) enfant(s), après les avoir empêchés d'exercer leur autorité parentale et l'éducation de leur(s) enfant(s).

Ce que nous voyons également depuis quelques années est que l'on a remplacé les mots : péché, folie, crime et possédé par des termes médicales tels que "psychopathe" et "maladie mentale", termes inventés par les hommes en pouvoir afin de pouvoir mieux manipuler et contrôler la race humaine.

Ce que nous voyons de plus en plus, ce sont des personnes qui ne sont plus tenus criminellement responsables de leurs actes. La Bible pourtant nous dit que si un homme tue une personne, elle doit être mise à mort afin d'éradiquer le péché du milieu d'eux. Parce qu'ils pouvaient être tués par le vengeur du sang, s'ils sortaient de la ville de refuge. Le seul moyen de se libérer de la ville de refuge : jusqu'à ce que le Souverain Sacrificateur soit mort et la personne, alors, pourra revenir auprès de sa famille, dans sa ville natale. Nombres 35:25. Cette pratique était une préfiguration des choses à venir.

Nouvelles réalités dont doivent aussi s'adapter les travailleurs sociaux qui, dans la majorité, croient accomplir leur devoir afin de protéger les enfants. Ils ne sont qu'en réalité que des personnes ignorantes soumis au bon plaisir des tyrans qui tirent les ficèles de ce monde.

La psychiatrie, qui est sous le contrôle des Jésuites (l'armée de front de Satan) joue un rôle majeur dans tous ces changements et ne cessent de nous démontrer jusqu'à quel point ils sont machiavéliques et sanguinaires. Les liens entre la médication et l'industrie pharmaceutique qui veulent désormais mettre sous médications tous les enfants est tout aussi pervert, le but étant la soumission passive de cette génération future, qui si le Seigneur ne revenait pas, serait sûrement la dernière à exister sur terre. Leurs buts est de toujours pervertir les lois divines et d'éloigner les humains de la vraie et saine doctrine, et ainsi être en plein contrôle sur la vie de tous et chacun jusqu'à leur destruction physique et spirituel.

Combien de parents, qui ont voulu donner une bonne éducation à leur(s) enfant(s) se sont retrouvés en cour et criminalisés. Combien d'enfants ont été enlevés par la DPJ, car étant rebelles à ces lois humaines et non-conforme au plan divin? Combien d'enfants ont été maltraités, abusés sexuellement dans d'autres familles, à cause de ces lois? Combien de centre d'accueil, ses enfants ont fait afin de les rendre encore plus rebelle et déséquilibré? Combien d'enfants se sont suicidés, n'étant plus capable de vivre dans un tel système? Combien de ses institutions sont dirigés par des satanistes et combien de ces enfants sont utilisés dans des rituels sataniques pour assouvir la soif de pouvoir de ces êtres démoniaques?

Cela ne vient pas de Dieu, mes amis, cela vient du royaume de Satan qui hait nos et vos enfants et qui veut leur destruction physique, psychologique et spirituel. Lisez les Protocoles de Toronto, que vous pouvez trouvez sur Internet. Leur plan est tout là sur leur désir de détruire la famille.

Tout cela, sous les lois de Dieu, n'existe tout simplement pas. Je vous mettrai, à la fin de ce document, plusieurs versets de la pensée de Dieu sur ce sujet important. Si Dieu a permis la correction, ce n'était pas dans un but de barbarie, mais pour faire de ces enfants des enfants responsables, qui les amèneraient à réfléchir sur les conséquences de leurs actes et à s'en éloigner pour devenir de bons citoyens responsables et des personnes accomplies, dans la voie de la Vérité.

Fesser ou ne pas fesser ? En lançant une grande campagne de sensibilisation sur ce thème il y a deux ans, le Conseil de l'Europe ne laissait aucun doute sur son objectif : faire voter à tous ses pays membres une loi interdisant la fessée. Derrière ce débat éducatif, c'est toute la question de la nature humaine qui est posée. Est-ce la violence de la société qui pervertit l'enfant ? L'État a-t-il pour mission de légiférer sur les méthodes éducatives des parents ? Ces questions, les Suédois y ont répondu en 1979, en votant l'interdiction de toute forme de punition corporelle sur les enfants. Aucune distinction ne pouvait plus être faite entre la vraie maltraitance et la bonne fessée des familles. Pour l'Europe entière, la Suède est alors devenue le pays pionnier en ce qui concerne les droits de l'enfant. Mais en quoi consiste ce fameux « modèle suédois » qui bannit la fessée de la sphère publique et privée ? Quelles politiques l'accompagnent ? Y a-t-il des dérives ? A Berlin newspaper has reported that an Imam of an organization associated with both Hamas and the German Muslim Brotherhood was consulted in the development of materials for dealing with Muslim students. According to the report:

The German domestic intelligence agency considers the Islamische Kultur- und Erziehungszentrum (IKEZ) in in Neukölln a meeting place for supporters of Hamas. This strengthens the critics of a handout for dealing with Muslim students that is being developed by the educational administration. The Imam of the IKES was chosen to help explain Islam to teachers….”I think it is very problematic that a very conservative interpretation of Islam is given a prominent place in the handout said Green Party official Gabriele Vonnekold who knows the IKEZ and rejects cooperation with the associated mosque….They promote the view that even little girls wear headscarves and that boys and girls are separated at puberty.

The report goes on to say that the IKEZ has contact with the Islamischen Gemeinschaft in Deutschland, said by the German domestic intelligence agency to represent the interests of the Muslim Brotherhood in Germany.

21 February 2012 – The United Nations Messenger of Peace and two-time Academy Award winner Michael Douglas today appealed to children from around the world to bring to life their artistic impressions of what a world without nuclear weapons would look like.

Mr. Douglas, who has served as a UN Messenger of Peace since 1998, released a video message in which he called upon young artists from the age of five through 17 to use their creative talents and draw, paint or sketch their visions of a world without nuclear weapons, bombs or wars for an international art contest.

“Art is the universal language; art speaks to our hearts and minds; art can make a difference and so can you,” Mr. Douglas said in a video message already airing on UNTV and made available to broadcasters around the globe. In addition, it is available for viewing online.

The contestants are allowed to utilise a wide array of tools – including pens, pencils, crayons, charcoal, oil, acrylic paint or water colours – and are then encouraged to upload their artwork to the initiative’s website,

KANO, Nigeria: Gunmen burnt down a school in Nigeria's troubled city of Maiduguri, the second such attack in two days in an area rocked by Boko Haram Islamist raids, an official said Thursday.

A group of unknown gunmen stormed Budun primary school in central Maiduguri Wednesday evening and set fire to classrooms and a store after seizing the security guard at gunpoint, according to state education commissioner, Tijjani Abba Ari.

"The gunmen held the security guard at gunpoint and set fire to a block of four classes and an adjoining store which gutted the whole block," he said.

Another school was also burnt down by gunmen late Tuesday, Ari said.

"We are dealing with an emerging trend that is quite disturbing because this is the second time in two days that a school was burnt by armed arsonists," Ari said.

No one was hurt in the incident but the arson created panic in the city with pupils staying away from schools on Thursday, he said.

Ari did not name suspects in the arson but the radical Islamist Boko Haram group, which opposes western-type education, had threatened to attack public schools in retaliation for alleged desecration of the Koran and a raid on an Islamic seminary in the city by security agents.

Sect leader Abubakar Shekau issued the threat last month in an audio message in which his group claimed responsibility for a January 20 attack in the northern city of Kano that killed 185 people.

Tonight the Hillsborough school board met concerning the presentations of Hamas-CAIR in the children's classroom. The parents all wore red and very eloquently expressed their concerns. Supporters of Hassan Shibly also spoke to the board, calling concerned parents the usual names....

In the second to the last video (to be posted tomorrow), around minute 5, Hassan Shibly arrogantly spoke to the board. (He was the only speaker to demand more time, since he was clearly the victim. The board denied his request!)

As I wrote in the American Thinker in December: "Shibly has a track record of defending jihad terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for the worldwide jihad and Islamic supremacism.

Following the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War, Shibly granted legitimacy to Hezb'allah by characterizing it as a 'resistance movement' that provides valued social services to the Lebanese people. 'They're absolutely not a terrorist organization,' Shibly said, and 'any war against them is illegitimate' -- more on that here." And Shibly is the local rep for Hamas-tied CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terror funding trial in our nation's history, the Holy Land Foundation trial. Holy Land, an Islamic "charity," was funneling charitable donations to Hamas.

After the meeting, Shibly went to the courtyard/back area and led five others in prayer. He was on display through the glass windows for all to see. For Islamic supremacists, public prayer is an assertion of Muslim presence and power: witness the massive displays of public Muslim prayer that shut down streets in Paris and elsewhere, in open and repeated defiance of infidel laws and the convenience of local pedestrians and businesses.

Hezb'allah supporter Shibly is having a tantrum over our victory for freedom. Here is Shibly's libelous and typically dishonest post. He is lying about everything. But hey, that's what they do.

Man, does he want at our kids. Keep him away from the children.



The Danger of Empowering Hate Group Leaders

The Boards actions yesterday prompted Pamela Geller & the Florida Family Association to declare victory over the school district.

Our supporters are all mainstream and academic. Our opponents are fringe and are opposed by mainstream institutions. Do not give in to bigoted pressure.

Look at the long term consequences of our actions. The more we give in to hate, the more we empower them and encourage them.

The more we give into jihadist groups, the more we will lose our freedom. Nazi-like propaganda, much the way the nazis demonized the Jews in the run-up to the holocaust. Hamas-linked CAIR is a "Palestinian" group with multiple convictions for terror activity.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY -- Bay News

The Hillsborough County School Board meeting got heated Tuesday night as both sides spoke their views on whether an Imam from the Council on American-Islamic Relations should be allowed to lecture high school students.

For the first time since the controversy started, the Executive Director of Tampa's CAIR chapter, Hassan Shibly, took his turn at the school board podium.

"These guys are calling me a terrorist. C'mon, if any of these things were really true, I wouldn't be standing here," he said.

Complaints started after Shibly spoke to a high school history class about the Islamic faith. They claim CAIR has ties to terrorism and say Shibly isn't qualified to speak to students.

Shibly defended his school appearance by saying he's trying to promote understanding.

"Unfortunately, there have been so many lies that have been said today I feel like I have to come out here and prove the world isn't flat," he said.

One school board member scolded the audience.

"I watched some people put their hands over their ears and plug their ears," said board member, April Griffin. "I watched a group of people get up in mass and walk out of the room because a young woman said she was going to say a prayer and she was Muslim."

The meeting ended peacefully but both sides say they're not backing down.

The superintendent gave board members a proposal that would set some guidelines for speakers but nothing was decided tonight.

They plan to hold a workshop and discuss it at another time.

TAMPA — In a move that responds to complaints about an Islamic organization, the Hillsborough County School District took a first step Tuesday toward regulating outside speakers in the classroom.

A brief set of guidelines offered by superintendent MaryEllen Elia asks teachers to look for speakers recommended by the district, consult with their principals and refrain from invitations to advocacy organizations.

The School Board will hold a workshop to discuss the issue in more detail, on a day not yet determined. Until then, a majority of board members agreed that Elia's guidelines can stand.

They did so over strong objections from member April Griffin, who said it was not Elia's place to draft policy. What's more, she said, a policy against advocacy groups would exclude many organizations including the PTA and the NAACP, not to mention groups that are regulars at the Great American Teach-In.

The discussion followed more than an hour of audience comments Tuesday — as well as earlier complaints — about the suitability of visits to classrooms from the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Unlike the last two board meetings, when only speakers opposed to CAIR took to the lectern, Tuesday's crowd included Muslim-Americans and civil rights activists who defended CAIR and its executive director, Hassan Shibly.

"These are the kinds of people I would select as my neighbors, as my babysitters and as my friends," said Lois Price, a mother of two schoolteachers and a member of Friends of Human Rights, a Tampa organization.

Added Ghazi Ahmed, who lived in Yemen and Detroit before settling in Tampa: "I have three kids and they're going to grow up here. We have to work together, not attack each other."

Those opposed to CAIR were equally passionate. Some said they had nothing against Muslims, but said the group itself has links to terrorism — something Shibly has consistently denied.

Teacher Kelly Clem-Rickon, who was raised in the Mormon faith, wore red, the color of the anti-CAIR faction. She said she would be open to presentations from any religion, but not CAIR.

Others objected to any speaker who might favor Islamic sharia law. "I do not have hate in my heart," said Christina Latchford, a military mother. "But I do recognize an ideology that is damaging, and I wouldn't subject my children to it."

The controversy began late last year after Shibly, a lawyer and an imam, spoke at an advanced placement world history class at Steinbrenner High School.

It was not the first time the history teacher had invited members of his and other religious organizations. But it caught the notice of conservative activists.

Addressing the board as one of the final speakers, Shibly said he was astounded at so much misinformation about his organization. "I feel that I have to prove the world isn't flat," he said.

Terry Kemple, of the anti-CAIR Education Coalition, said he thought Elia's plan was a step in the right direction, but preferred something to more directly address the issue of what he called terrorist sympathizers in the classroom.

Shibly said he was disappointed by the move — not necessarily because of the guidelines, but because he said they were motivated by xenophobia. Of the people who spoke against CAIR, he said, "They're not going to be happy with anyone."

(ANSAmed) - ANKARA, FEBRUARY 24 - The goals of an education reform bill introduced by the Islamic party of Turkey's Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan have been characterised by opposition parties as aiming to halve the length of compulsory schooling to promote more Koranic schools and veil wearing. The opposition secular press, trades unionists and other commentators, have for a month now, but especially over the past two days, been aiming their criticisms at the Islamic tendencies of the reforms of alleged faults in the country's education system. Today the countries confederation of industry, the TUSIAD, has joined in the chorus of protest. The bill would in effect abolish the present laws obliging children to attend school for eight years, halving them to the period of primary education alone.

Although this radical move is softened by the offer of distance learning, critics are calling it an incentive to quit school, especially in the less developed eastern areas of the country, and in cultural milieu where the ban on wearing the veil inside school premises meets strongest resistance. The ban comes from the secular, Western stamp given to Turkey's constitution in the 1930s by the country's founder Kemal Ataturk. A reduction in the number of years of compulsory education would also promote the so-called ''Imam Hatip Lisesi'', the religious Islamic schools, like the one in which Mr Erdogan was educated. Following its third electoral victory in succession, with nearly 50% of votes cast, Erdogan's single-party pro-Islamic government has already abolished the minimum age requirement for attendance at such schools and this reform would encourage children to give up attending their secular secondary schools in favour of religious institutions which now would take over some of the functions of the grammar schools.

Some areas of the secular press, such as the daily Milliyet, as well as pro-Islamic organs such as Yeni Safak and the official mouthpieces of Erdogan's AKP party, stress how the reform aims at correcting what was in effect a penalisation inflicted on Koranic schools following the ''post modern'' military coup of 1997, which overthrew Islamic premier Necmettin Erbakan, a role-model for Erdogan. Eight years of compulsory schooling was introduced then with the aim of undermining the Koranic institutions. The reform debate opens, indeed, as the 15th anniversary of that coup approaches (February 28), the highly secular daily Cumhuriyet wryly observes.

Without returning to accusations of a 'hidden agenda to re-Islamise Turkey, Cumhuriyet links the reforms to the a proposal recently expressed by the premier ''to raise a pious generation,'' a ''religious youth''.

Nous avons reçu ce message d'une mère d'une jeune écolière en première année.




Ma fille est en première année du primaire à la Commission scolaire de Montréal (École Jeanne-Leber). Elle est récemment revenue de l'école en me disant que tout le monde croyait en Dieu mais que les gens l'appelait de façon différente (Bouddha, Mahomet, etc.) Qu'on lui avait appris cela en classe. J'ai dû clarifier les choses dans la tête de ma fille. À six ans on ne devrait pas les mêler encore plus.
Elle m'a même dit que la fête de Noël était la même chose que la fête du mouton ! Je lui ai expliqué qu'on égorgeait un mouton pour cette fête ce qu'on avait omis de lui dire évidemment...

Je suis d'accord pour dire que c'est à nous les parents de faire l'éducation religieuse de nos enfants, cependant il est bien difficile de le faire si les croyances de nos enfants sont remises en question à l'école.

Le texte poursuit en mentionnant qu'Abraham allait « sacrifier son fils », mais il omet de dire que ce fils est Isaac pour les judéo-chrétiens, mais Ismaël pour les musulmans selon la tradition. Il ne faut sans doute pas briser l'unité de toutes les religions pour l'auteur de ce manuel.

Pourtant, pour l’archevêque orthodoxe du Mont Liban, l’intellectuel Mgr Georges Khodr, conclut : « Ainsi, il n’existe pas d’Abraham "objectif" dans lequel les trois monothéismes pourraient trouver un lieu de communion. » (Voir « Un Dieu, trois religions ».)

Les deux questions posées aux jeunes têtes blondes sont intéressantes :

Que signifie le mot « charité » ? On voit mal une autre réponse que « le partage ». C'est le titre de la leçon après tout (voir page 30). Mais c'est très court et surtout sans aucune dimension spirituelle.

Identifie la valeur mise de l'avant dans la fête de l'[Aïd el-Kébir] (la fête du mouton, le manuel adopte une graphie pédante en rien traditionnelle dans le monde francophone).

On comprend que l'enfant doit aussi dire « partage », car « partage » et « partager » apparaissent sur la page 31, c'est le titre de la leçon et les religions se ressemblent toutes dans l'esprit du manuel. Details now emerging about battle over names, addresses of students

A judge who was demanding – for his own use – the names and addresses of all the homeschool students and their parents in his Mississippi judicial district threatened school officials with jail if they didn't give him what he wanted.

The reports of the threat from Judge Joe Dale Walker, of the state's 13th Chancery district court, come from one of the attendance officers involved in the case in which Walker demanded the student data.

"He threatened us," said one of the school officials later served with an order the judge wrote and signed for himself.

The WND reported a week ago when Walker was ordered by the state Supreme Court to explain his demands.

His order for details about homeschoolers has been suspended until April 18 at least, when his explanation is due to the high court.

Walker declined to respond to multiple messages left by WND seeking comment on the situation.

The state Supreme Court got involved when lawyers with the Home School Legal Defense Association, which fights for the rights of homeschooling worldwide, was informed of the situation by some of its members in Mississippi, and petitioned the high court on an emergency basis.

Here is the judge's order:



Walker had called a meeting with the school attendance officers and told them to provide the students' names and addresses. They hesitated, as under federal law such information is confidential, and the judge said he had researched the issue and it was safe for them to give him the information, according to one of the attendance officers who spoke with WND today.

However, the state education department told them not to provide the information, and the judge, upset with the results, threatened that he would go write his own court order and then they would have to comply, the attendance officer said.

"The judge wanted information. We tried to explain we didn't think we could give it to him," the officer, whose identity is being withheld by WND. "He wanted it. He threatened us, said if he gave us a court order and we did not fulfill, we would be in contempt and would be arrested."

When WND reported on the case, it was noted that the information is being sought by the judge himself, as there is no underlying case, motion or dispute that could have prompted the request. There was no case number on the order and there were no other documents in the court file.

A blogger in the region, however, detailed how it appeared that Walker was trying to determine "which families are legitimately homeschooling and which are using the homeschool statute to circumvent compulsory attendance laws."



A WND source who is familiar with the details of the dispute confirmed that appeared to be accurate.

Blogger Natalie West Winningham said the judge apparently wants to prosecute the parents of juveniles who show up in his youth court and who "appear not to be receiving legitimate homeschool instruction as well as to flush out other 'fake homeschoolers.'"

"Perhaps Judge Walker either doesn't know or doesn't care that interviewing, profiling, visiting or otherwise needlessly interfering with homeschool families for the sole purpose of comparing them against an arbitrary, legally non-existent and unenforceable standard with the intent of potentially charging the 'failing' parents with a crime is not legal," she wrote.

"Clearly, the judge is not concerned only with the youths who appear in his court. Otherwise, why would the court order seek to secure ALL of the names and addresses of homeschoolers…"

Further, she questioned what use would be made of the information.

"If I were a vigilante judge who got my hands on a datatbase of homeschoolers' names and addresses, perhaps I would cross-reference it with past criminal records, DHS cases, driving records, credit histories, tax information, etc. And if I thought I could get away with it, maybe I'd send someone to your home to interview you and hope that you don't know your legal rights.

"I'm not saying that Judge Walker would do those things. But there are many possibilities and none of them is pleasant," she wrote.

Spokeswoman Beverly Kraft of the state court system told WND earlier that the issue as it was presented to the state Supreme Court was a "confidential" case about which no documents, no information and no explanation was available.

The judge's order noted that the "cause" for the order "came on for hearing on the court's own motion," but the HSLDA said apparently no hearing ever was held.

The HSLDA suggested the order is highly unusual and could provide a "chilling" effect on not only homeschoolers but any group whose members' names may at some point be demanded by a judge.

An attorney for the group, James Mason, told WND that in the years he has worked with homeschool issues, he never before has seen such an order.

"It's a very chilling prospect," he said. "The plain fact is if judges start behaving this way – [targeted could be] people who attend churches or synagogues [or other groups]."

"That would have a chilling effect on freedom of association, and the exercise of other freedoms," he said.

A judge in a similar order could demand the names of patriot organizations, tea party groups, Democrat groups, GOP groups or even labor, teacher or parent groups.

HSLDA said that after attendance officers at the schools got the order, they notified homeschoolers, enclosing a copy of the judge's order.

"The letters cited the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and asked the families to notify the attendance officer by April 8, 2011, if they intended to initiate legal action to prevent release of the protected information sought by Judge Walker," HSLDA said.

The notice from the HSLDA to its members said the judge also wanted the addresses of all homeschoolers in Smith, Lawrence, Covington, Simpson and Jefferson Davis counties.

Walker's order listed no parties but only said "RE: HOMESCHOOL."

"We believe that Judge Walker's order is an inappropriate use of judicial power," said Michael Farris, chairman of HSLDA.

The state's court website says chancery courts "have jurisdiction over disputes in matters involving equity; domestic matters including adoptions, custody disputes and divorces; guardianships; sanity hearings; wills; and challenges to constitutionality of state laws. Land records are filed in Chancery Court."

L'éducation nationale a inventé un Etat arabe !

Nous nous sommes procuré un exemplaire du nouveau programme d'histoire de première. Il s'agit d'une thèse révisionniste contre les Juifs d'Israël, un énorme scandale politico-historique, une réminiscence du crime le plus honteux commis par la France au 20e siècle. Pire, c'est une marque de sang faite à la patrie des droits de l'homme par un petit groupe de propagandistes, qui a manqué à son devoir de protection des plus persécutés d'entre tous les peuples, les Juifs.

Soixante dix ans seulement après la collaboration du gouvernement français à la solution finale des nazis contre les Juifs, le gouvernement français, au travers de l'Education Nationale, collabore à la solution finale des ultra anti-israéliens contre les rescapés et descendants de ces mêmes Juifs, en Israël.

L'éducation nationale a contourné l'interdiction des écrits révisionnistes sur les Juifs d'Europe, par un écrit révisionniste sur les Juifs de Palestine.

Juste avant les vacances, en toute discrétion, le livre d'histoire pour les classes de première, dans sa section consacrée au conflit arabe-israélien, est truffé de mensonges et de contre vérités destinées à inspirer dégoût et haine contre Israël, et justifier une étape future, comme le rappelle le professeur Shmuel Trigano, qui sera l'éradication de la bête immonde, l'Etat Hébreu, pour le bien général.

L'Education Nationale, en partie pour tenter d'apaiser les familles de parents d'élèves musulmans, qui refusent l'histoire réelle (mais aussi la philo et les sciences non compatibles avec le Coran et la Charia), a publié une version palestino-compatible de l'histoire de la Palestine moderne.

Je vous laisse découvrir, au fil des pages publiées ci dessous, cette propagande. C'est comme un sinistre jeu des sept erreurs : elles se cachent partout dans les moindre détails et de façon insidieuse et perverse. Lisez-les, diffusez-les, faites moi part de vos trouvailles et de vos commentaires. De notre coté, nous mettons tout en oeuvre pour faire retirer des programmes ces immondices et trouver leurs responsables.












Tous les ingrédients du narratif anti-israélien sont présents et bien au delà : mensonges, inventions, omissions, déformation des faits, amalgames et jeux de mots équivoques chaque fois que la culpabilité des arabes ne peut être dissimulée.

Un seul exemple. Cherchez le mot "Israël". Il n'existe pas dans ces pages. Israël n'existe pas dans ce livre d'histoire. Et c'est conforme à la charte de mort, à la charte génocidaire, du Hamas, qui mentionne "l'entité sioniste" à détruire pour ne pas dire "Israël".

Ces quelques pages d'histoire réécrites à la sauce hamas-compatible, sont un vrai tsunami au service de l'antisémitisme déguisé en anti-sionisme, et de la diabolisation du seul pays des Juifs.

Tsunami car "si c'est dans les livres d'histoire, c'est forcément vrai".

Tsunami car seule la version d'une des parties au conflit, les arabes de palestine, est présentée, bien que cette version soit totalement contredite par les documents historiques, et les traités de l'ONU.

Tsunami encore, car la version des israéliens est totalement absente, comme si l'on voulait affirmer que le narratif des juifs n'est pas digne de foi car "le juif est forcément menteur".

Il convient de rappeler ici le Rapport du Ministère de l'intérieur paru en 2004 sur le racisme et l'antisémitisme. (1)

"Parmi toutes les formes, subtiles, d’antisémitisme par procuration, il en est une qui doit être particulièrement distinguée car elle émerge depuis quelques années comme forme de discours dominant : c’est l’antisionisme radical."

"Ainsi se trouve constitué l’une des mécanique les plus redoutables aujourd’hui qui fait d’un antisionisme en apparence politique et antiraciste, l’un des facteurs facilitateurs du passage à l’acte, l’un des instruments de l’antisémitisme par procuration."

Le Dr Nicolai Sennels est un psychologue danois qui a travaillé avec des criminels musulmans dans des institutions gérées par les autorités de Copenhague. Il est l’auteur du livre « Parmi les criminels musulmans. L’expérience d’un psychologue à Copenhague » paru en 2009.

Son article fait suite à la diffusion sur la chaîne britannique Channel 4 d’un reportage d’enquête tourné dans des écoles coraniques de Grande-Bretagne avec caméras cachées (lire notre billet ici, vidéos en anglais ici).



Comment transformer des êtres humains normaux en psychopathes haineux et meurtriers obéissant aveuglément aux ordres d’un système totalitaire, réprimant et tuant des personnes innocentes ? En bref : comment faire pour fabriquer un terroriste ?

Au fil des siècles et dans le monde entier, des régimes religieux, politiques ou ethniques belliqueux et meurtriers ont utilisé les mêmes méthodes éprouvées. La procédure consiste en deux étapes très simples, répétées sans fin :

1. Vous forcez quelqu’un à répéter le dogme du système encore et encore pendant des mois, des années, jusqu’à ce qu’il sache chaque mot par cœur, et que ces mots imprègnent complètement toute sa façon de penser et deviennent la seule vérité à laquelle il croit.

2. Vous battez et terrorisez cette personne (si possible au hasard et très sévèrement), l’obligeant ainsi à devenir insensible et dénuée d’empathie, afin de supporter les souffrances physiques et psychologiques et d’accroître ses émotions de colère, de frustration et de peur, et ces sentiments seront ensuite dirigés contre les ennemis du système.

Ainsi vous fabriquez une personne dont tout l’être est imprégné par le dogme du système et qui a perdu la capacité de ressentir sa souffrance ou celle des autres. Vous obtenez une personne émotionnellement froide qui obéit aveuglément à ses chefs et à leurs dogmes politiques ou religieux. Si vous utilisez cette méthode sur un enfant qui commence à développer sa personnalité, le dogme appris deviendra une partie intégrante de sa personnalité. L’impact psychologique des violences physiques sera plus profond. Etant donné que les enfants et les jeunes dépendent des adultes pour se sentir acceptés, ils sont plus enclins à être manipulés.

En tant que psychologue pour enfants, j’ai été choqué de constater que c’est exactement ces méthodes qui sont imposées à des millions d’enfants musulmans, à la fois dans les pays musulmans et en Occident. Des dizaines de milliers de madrasas et d’écoles coraniques, dans le monde entier, obligent les enfants à répéter le coran et les hadiths, encore et encore, jusqu’à ce qu’ils les connaissent par cœur. Ils doivent croire chaque mot et ne jamais poser de questions, ni sur la finalité ni sur les moyens.

Il est considéré comme normal dans de telles écoles que des enfants sans défense et innocents soient battus au hasard et humiliés par les enseignants et les élèves plus âgés, qui eux-mêmes sont des êtres détruits sur le plan émotionnel, ayant subi ces mêmes méthodes de coercition qu’ils infligent maintenant à leurs élèves. Ils incarnent le but du système : la victime doit devenir, à son tour, le bourreau.

La Grande-Bretagne compte 2 000 madrasas, où plus de 200 000 enfants âgés de quatre à seize ans apprennent le coran en cours du soir.

Les enquêtes démontrent qu’une violence extrême est courante dans les madrasas britanniques : « Des élèves sont giflés, frappés à coups de poings, leurs oreilles sont brutalement tordues », révèle le rapport d’un imam basé sur les témoignages de victimes dans le nord de l’Angleterre, mais qui n’a pas été publié. Un enfant a été « saisi par une jambe et contraint à tournoyer en l’air », un autre enfant affirme que le maître de l’école « frappait ma tête comme un ballon de foot »… Hiba, 7 ans, a été giflée avec une telle force par le maître que son oreille a été déchirée, puis s’est infectée au point qu’elle a dû recevoir un traitement médical d’urgence. Les maîtres punissent les enfants chaque fois qu’ils prononcent mal un mot ou oublient un verset du coran. Un enquêteur privé souligne : « les victimes grandissent en acceptant la violence, d’ailleurs ils plaisantent tous à ce sujet, cette culture accepte la brutalité ».

Une autre enquête révèle que les enfants apprennent à haïr les non-musulmans : « Vous n’êtes pas comme les non-musulmans là-bas, martèle le maître en faisant de grands gestes en direction des fenêtres. Tout ce péché que vous voyez dans les rues, ces femmes qui ne portent pas le hijab correctement, ces gens qui fument… vous devez haïr cela, vous devez haïr le fait de marcher dans de telles rues ». La même enquête révèle également que pendant un cours de moins de trois heures, le maître a battu des enfants d’à peine six ans au moins dix fois. A un moment donné, sur le film en caméra cachée, on peut observer un enfant immobilisé au sol par un plus grand pendant qu’un autre élève plus âgé menace de le battre avec une petite table.

Ces enquêtes ont été réalisées en Occident, où il existe des milliers de madrasas dans lesquelles des millions d’enfants musulmans apprennent par cœur les enseignements islamiques traditionnels alors que beaucoup d’entre eux sont physiquement et psychologiquement traumatisés. Les études montrent que dans la culture musulmane « l’éducation éthique semble être négligée au profit de la punition » ce qui pourrait expliquer le fait que les parents acceptent les abus subis par leurs enfants. Chacun est encouragé à rechercher, par exemple sur You Tube, des vidéos tournées dans les madrasas des pays musulmans où les conditions et la violence sont encore plus dramatiques.

Envisagés selon la perspective d’un psychologue pour enfants, les milliers de madrasas et d’écoles coraniques sont de véritables fabriques de terroristes créant une armée de soldats musulmans à l’intérieur même des pays occidentaux. Dès leur plus tendre enfance, ils sont endoctrinés dans la croyance que chaque mot du coran doit être pris à la lettre et ils sont devenus, à cause des punitions violentes, des êtres haineux et froids sur le plan émotionnel. Rendre ces écoles non-violentes exigerait un énorme degré de contrôle à l’année longue.

Cela implique également de changer un schéma central dans la culture musulmane : l’éducation des enfants. Or, l’échec patent de la culture musulmane à s’intégrer dans d’autres cultures démontre qu’il est presque impossible de changer les valeurs culturelles et les comportements de base des communautés musulmanes. Même si nous parvenions, malgré le défi important que cela représente, à éliminer la violence envers les enfants dans les écoles coraniques, ces enfants apprendraient quand même le coran par cœur et le fait que chaque mot doit être pris dans son sens littéral, et c’est exactement cela que font les terroristes. Des millions d’enfants étudient dans les écoles coraniques et lorsqu’ils seront devenus adultes et les générations suivantes par la suite, les conséquences de l’endoctrinement subi seront insurmontables.

Although under investigation by the FBI, these Islamist-linked, American-taxpayer-funded Gulen charter schools continue to open and expand all over the U.S. Now, the Harmony Schools in Texas have been accused of indoctrinating Muslim religious beliefs in their curriculum.

A group of charter schools with innocuous names like Chicago Math and Science Academy are currently educating as many as 35,000 students in 100 publicly funded schools, make up the largest charter school network in the US. They promote an Islamic agenda, but receive government money, unlike other religious schools in the United States. These are the schools that are part of what is called Fethullah Gülen Community (FGC), also known as “the Gülen Movement.”

The Cosmos Foundation is the parent organization to the Harmony Schools. It is a charter school operator founded a decade by a group of professors and businessmen from Turkey. Cosmos has moved quickly to become the largest charter school operator in Texas, with 33 schools receiving more than $100 million a year in taxpayer funds.There are about 120 schools across the country that teach over 20,000 students.
In the last few years, the schools have been garnering negative attention for their supposed link to the Gulen Movement, a Muslim following. Many of the staff and some of the founders of the schools are from Turkey and happen to be followers of Fethullah Gulen, a Turkish preacher of a moderate brand of Islam.

The Superintendent of the schools and one of the Co-founders, Soner Tarim, is a Turkish-American and came to the United States in the early 90′s to study at Texas A&M. He says the schools do not reach religion at the schools. ” Because I’m the head of the school people should not look at me and label the school…all of our teachers and parents know that we do not teach religion obviously, this is a public school.”

Not everyone in the school system is happy with Harmony. Donna Garner, a former teacher in Texas, has been studying these schools for years. She says the schools are a front for an Islamic movement. “They have brought in all these teachers from Turkey, how are they going to teach students about being a good solid American patriot, to learn about the U.S. Constitution, to honor our forefathers, to study the declaration of independence
.”

Tarim refutes this and says that some of the teachers are international, but 85% are hired locally. (But how many of those are Muslims?)

Garner also recalled a situation at a Harmony School performance in Texas, when students stomped on an American Flag. Whether this is true or not, Harmony Schools insist that they do not teach any Anti-American beliefs.

The Gulen Movement is a transnational civic society movement inspired by the teachings of Turkish Islamic theologian Muhammed Fethullah Gülen [in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania]. His teachings about hizmet (altruistic service to the “common good”) have attracted a large number of supporters in Turkey and Central Asia and increasingly in other parts of the world, estimates vary from hundreds of thousands to 4 million. The movement consists primarily of students, teachers, businessman, journalists and other educated professionals, arranged in a flexible organizational network. It has founded schools, universities, an employers’ association, as well as charities, real estate trusts, lobby groups, student bodies, radio and television stations, and newspapers.



Gulen’s grandiose vision is the restoration of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of a universal caliphate. In his public statements, Gulen espouses a liberal version of Sunni/Hanafi Islam and promotes the Muslim notion of hizmet – - altruistic service to the common good. In private, Gulen has stated that “in order to reach the ideal Muslim society ‘every method and path is acceptable, [including] lying to people.’” With assets in excess of $30 billion, Gulen has wielded political allegiances in Washington that have resulted in the placement of Turkish Muslims in the CIA, NSA, FBI, and other national security organizations. He has created well-heeled lobbies to promote the cause of Islam and to develop Islamic candidates for political office. He has formed close friendships with Bill and Hillary Clinton, former Secretaries of State James Baker and Madeleine Albright, and George W. Bush.

FBI INVESTIGATING GULEN CHARTER SCHOOLS, PARENTS PULLING KIDS OUT

HFP Fethullah Gulen is a major Islamic political figure in Turkey, but he lives in self-imposed exile in a Poconos enclave and gained his green card by convincing a federal judge in Philadelphia that he was an influential educational figure in the United States. Followers of Gulen have opened the network of charter schools across the U.S., and that federal authorities are investigating claims that school workers are donating portions of their salaries to a Muslim movement founded by Gulen.

As evidence, his lawyer pointed to the charter schools, now more than 120 in 25 states, that his followers – Turkish scientists, engineers, and businessmen – have opened, including Truebright Science Academy in North Philadelphia and another charter in State College, Pa.

The schools are funded with millions of taxpayer dollars. Truebright alone receives more than $3 million from the Philadelphia School District for its 348 pupils. Tansu Cidav, the acting chief executive officer, described it as a regular public school. ”Charter schools are public schools,” he said. “We follow the state curriculum.”

But federal agencies – including the FBI and the Departments of Labor and Education – are investigating whether some charter school employees are kicking back part of their salaries to a Muslim movement founded by Gulen known as Hizmet, or Service, according to knowledgeable sources. In Turkey, Gulen’s followers have been accused of pushing for an authoritarian Islamic state.

Religious scholars consider the Gulen strain of Islam moderate, and the investigation has no link to terrorism. Rather, it is focused on whether hundreds of Turkish teachers, administrators, and other staffers employed under the H1B visa program are misusing taxpayer money.

Aksoy, president of the Golden Generation Worship & Retreat Center in Saylorsburg, Pa., where Gulen lives, said Gulen, who is in his early 70s, “has no connection with any of the schools,” although he might have inspired the people who founded them. (That’s a total lie, he is the founder and leader)
Another aim of the Gulen schools, a federal official said, is fostering goodwill toward Turkey, which is led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the pro-Islamic fundamentalis prime minister, whose government recently detained journalists after they alleged that Gulen followers were infiltrating security agencies.

Gulen schools are among the nation’s largest users of the H1B visas. In 2009, the schools received government approvals for 684 visas – more than Google Inc. (440) but fewer than a technology powerhouse such as Intel Corp. (1,203).
The visas are used to attract foreign workers with math, science, and technology skills to jobs for which there are shortages of qualified American workers. Officials at some of the charter schools, which specialize in math and science, have said they needed to fill teaching spots with Turks, according to parents and former staffers.

Ruth Hocker, former president of the parents’ group at the Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania Charter School in State College, began asking questions when popular, certified American teachers were replaced by uncertified Turkish men who often spoke limited English and were paid higher salaries. Most were placed in math and science classes.

“They would tell us they couldn’t find qualified American teachers,” Hocker said. That made no sense in Pennsylvania State University’s hometown, she said: “They graduate here every year.”

Other school parents described how uncertified teachers on H1B visas were moved from one charter school to another when their “emergency” teaching credentials expired and told of a pattern of sudden turnovers of Turkish business managers, administrators, and board members.

The charter school application that Truebright filed with the Philadelphia School District in 2005 mentioned that its founders helped start similar schools in Ohio, California, and Paterson, N.J.
Further evidence of the ties comes from a disaffected former teacher from Turkey who told federal investigators that the Gulen Movement had divided the United States into five regions, according to knowledgeable sources. A general manager in each coordinates the activities of the schools and related foundations and cultural centers, he told authorities.

Ohio, California, and Texas have the largest numbers of Gulen-related schools. Ohio has 19, which are operated by Concept Schools Inc., and most are known as Horizon Science Academies. There are 14 in California operated by the Magnolia Foundation. Texas has 33 known as Harmony schools, run by the Cosmos Foundation.

Report reveals that some Horizon Science Academy schools across Ohio used nearly $13,000 of taxpayer money for immigration and legal fees for teachers recruited overseas — many of them from Turkey. State auditors found some who received immigration and legal fees were never employed at the schools. In 2008 and 2009, immigration records show at least 53 H-1B immigration visas were issued to Horizon Schools.

In their investigation, federal authorities have obtained copies of several e-mails that indicate the charter schools are tied to Hizmet and may be controlled by it:
One activist sent an e-mail Aug. 30, 2007, to administrators at four schools and the president of Concept Schools in which he mentioned “Hizmet business” and several problems that needed to be addressed so that “Hizmet will not suffer.” And the disaffected teacher who described the five regions gave authorities a document called a tuzuk, which resembles a contract and prescribes how much money Turkish teachers are supposed to return to Hizmet.

State auditors in Ohio found that a number of schools had “illegally expended” public funding to pay legal, immigration, and air-travel fees for nonemployees and retained teachers who lacked proper licenses. Audited records from the Horizon Science Academy in Cincinnati in May 2009 also say that “for the period of time under audit, 47 percent (nine of 19) of the school’s teachers were not properly licensed.”

The same records show that the founder of Horizon Cincinnati was listed as the CEO of the school’s management firm and as president of the school’s property owner.

The American charter schools were a central part of Gulen’s argument that won him a green card after the Department of Homeland Security ruled that he did not meet the qualifications of an “alien of extraordinary ability” to receive a special visa.

In a lawsuit Gulen filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia in 2007 challenging the denial, his attorneys wrote: “In his position as the founder and head of the Gulen Movement, Mr. Gulen has overseen the establishment of a conglomeration of schools throughout the world, in Europe, Central Asia, and the United States.” His attorneys also referred to a letter of support from a theology professor in Illinois who described Gulen as “a leader of award-winning schools for underserved children around the world, including many schools in the major cities in America.”

Gulen Charter Schools use a lot of deception a false marketing practices in the advertisements of these schools.

On July 16, 2008, U.S. District Court Judge Stewart Dalzell ruled that Gulen met the requirements for a green card. Hocker, the State College parent, said the current CEO had assured her the school had no ties to Gulen. Rather, he told her that Gulen had inspired him to go into education and that Turkey “wanted to be known for teaching, the way you would think of India” for information technology, Hocker said.
But she noted that when the school’s founding CEO disappeared, his successor arrived from the Buffalo Academy of Science, another Gulen school. The dean of academics came from a related school in New Jersey. Ulker, Truebright’s, CEO, was one of the school’s founders and is a board member.

“If you start looking at their names, you can connect them back to all the other charter schools and Gulen groups,” Hocker said. She later withdrew her three children over concerns about secrecy and finances. A sister school – Young Scholars of Western Pennsylvania – is scheduled to open outside Pittsburgh in the fall.

LIBERTY LINKED ”A mother called me last week to tell me about her middle-school daughter. I guess because I was a teacher for so long and write education articles, people tend to turn to me with their concerns. The mother (I will call her “Annie”) said her daughter (“Suzie”) went to a Harmony School in Texas. Annie thought the schools would be good because they advertised their well-disciplined approach and high science and math scores.

Annie allowed her daughter to remain in the school for a year but became very concerned as the school year progressed. Annie described the Harmony School as being decorated all in Turkish furnishings, wall hangings, memorabilia. Many of the students were Muslims, Pakistanis, Turks, Asians, etc. Low-income Afro-American and Hispanic students also went there. Suzie is dark-skinned, and that is one reason Annie thought her daughter would fit in well at Harmony.

Annie said there were four American teachers who spoke good English; the rest were Turks who came from Albania. The e-mails that Annie received from the school were written in such broken English that she could hardly understand the content. Suzie received almost no instruction on English grammar/usage, and her ability to write in good English decreased in proficiency while she was there.

Students had uniforms and T-shirts from Turkey. The school held cooking classes for parents and taught them Turkish recipes. Trips to Turkey were advertised early in the year, and students and other people went on these trips for a two-week spring break. If students could not afford the trips, they were provided the money to go. The summer trip to Turkey was for one month. Students participated in the Science Olympiad that was held within the Cosmos Foundation across the United States — Cosmos students competed with other Cosmos students.

When worried Texas parents try to warn of the dangers of the Gulen schools, liberal CBS News, in its typical left wing condescending way, moves in to demonize the parents and defend the School Administrators without any investigation of their own.

The video says, “CBS 7 first reported Tuesday, a West Texas group is claiming that a charter school coming to Odessa this fall has ties to radical Islam in Turkey. But tonight’s statements from school administrators and new information seem to indicate that claim is not true.” (Seem to indicate? How about doing your own research instead of taking people working for Gulen’s word for it?)

The Harmony students took very frequent field trips during the school year and constantly put their students on display. They almost always went to places and had luncheons where elected officials could see them and did frequent performances for Congressmen, state board of education members, Texas legislators, city councils, judges, police chiefs, fire chiefs, etc.

The mother said Suzie received overly generous grades the whole time that she was in Harmony and that students whom Suzie knew were mediocre students also received inflated grades. In January students who had received F’s for the first semester were bumped up to B’s.

To prepare the students for the TAKS, Suzie told her mother that they were drilled on dates (e.g., 1492), but there was no explanation or teaching about the historical background of such dates. When they were taught history, they studied such things as a story about a Japanese (or Chinese) man who lived in California and invented “the first airplane.” Nothing was ever taught about the Wright Brothers.

Multicultural historical figures were emphasized, but the Founding Fathers had little if anything said about them. There were three mentions of Paul Revere in a textbook, but they were short sentences. The students did read a book that was supposed to be about Paul Revere and the historical figures of the time but ended up being a book about the female author. The books were dry, unengaging, and contained no traditional history with stories of American heroes and heroines.

Suzie did have textbooks, but the literary selections were about dark, depressing, negative,and disturbing subjects that referenced America with frequent examples of drugs, alcohol, and violence. Suzie and her mother both felt the literary selections did not represent wholesome American life. Because Suzie became increasingly depressed while attending Harmony, Annie decided to remove her from the school after a year.

What we need to remember is nobody monitors these Harmony Schools during the administration of tests. What is to prevent these H-1 visa teachers who are from Turkey and who have no commitment to the American value system to give their students the answers? The Wikileaks cable from the U. S. Ambassador several years ago revealed that the Gulenists are taking over the Turkish Security Forces by giving applicants the answers to the tests. If this is their mode of operation in Turkey, it very well could be the way they operate here. Dr. Ed Fuller’s research showed that over half of the students who start at Harmony leave. This would certainly be a major factor in raising their TAKS scores — weed out the weak students.
A friend wrote to me a few weeks ago and told me of an incident at Indian Springs Park in Waco, Texas. The Harmony Science Academy students from Waco performed at a community art festival. As reported by my friend, the students were dressed in their attractive Turkish costumes and were waving bright-colored Turkish flags. The audience was impressed with the students’ graceful movements as they flourished their Turkish flags throughout the dance; but at one point, the students took a large American flag, put it on the stage floor, and began to dance upon the flag.

When the members of the audience realized that the students were treading upon our nation’s flag, various people rose to their feet to object to this lack of respect. The dance finished up about that time, and the children hurriedly left the stage. My friend said she felt the incident demonstrated that there is a type of subtle, anti-American indoctrination that is occurring at Harmony Science Academy.

Watch out Canada, since the FBI investigations, many Turkish Gulen teachers are heading for Canada.

CAIR (The Council on American-Islamic Relations) of Florida, Tampa chapter posted an article on Facebook on December 3rd, stating that it had given seven presentations on Islam in the last week to over a dozen different AP world history and world religions public high school classes in the Tampa area.



Florida Political Press -According to the report, which did not name the high schools visited, the presentations covered topic such as basic Muslim beliefs, Islamic history, Islam and human rights, religious tolerance and diversity, and popular misconceptions about Islam.

Which immediately raises the question how is an organization that is widely believed to be linked to terrorism gaining access to high school students in Florida public schools and are these students being subjected to indoctrination and propaganda?

CAIR adamantly denies any links to terrorism, however, in March 2010 the FBI issued a letter to Congress affirming CAIR’s terrorist ties.

Shibly also emphasized that the fear-mongering against American Muslims today orchestrated by Islamophobes is no different than the discrimination many other religious, ethnic and racial groups faced as they integrated into the fabric of American Society. “We must value the freedoms, rights and respect for diversity, that distinguishes our nation and never take such freedoms for granted. When one group of Americans lose their rights, we all do.”

CAIR Tampa also lectured this week at one of the world’s top Arts College’s on Islamophobia and challenges facing American Muslims in addition to lecturing at an Adult Education University on Islamic beliefs and history.

Omar M. Ahmad, Co-founder and former National Chairman of CAIR, former board member of CAIR-Los Angeles (CAIR-California), and former President of CAIR’s (dissolved) parent organization, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) a designated terrorist organization.

“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith but to become dominant, he said. The Koran, the Muslim book of scrïpture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth, he said.”

Hassan Shibley is telling your children that Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were all prophets of Islam.
Why is Hassan Shibly, executive director of CAIR-Tampa, and avowed Islamic terrorist supporter, allowed to speak in American classrooms?

As the original story details, there are multiple, well established ties between CAIR and various terrorist groups.

Florida Political Press The CAIR-Tampa chapter is currently led by executive director Hassan Shibly, who, according to The Investigative Project on Terrorism, ‘has a track record of defending terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for radical Islam‘.

Hassan Shibly has a track record of defending terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for radical Islam. Shibly granted legitimacy to Hizballah by characterizing it as a “resistance movement” that provides valued social services to the Lebanese people. “They’re absolutely not a terrorist organization,” Shibly said, and “any war against them is illegitimate.”

As a testament to his support for Hizballah’s cause, Shibly even expressed a desire to travel to Lebanon to aid the group’s war effort. When asked to explicitly condemn Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups, Shibly wouldn’t.

Shibly defended a radical imam killed by the FBI after he opened fire on agents moving in to arrest him. In an October 2009 post, Shibly questioned the use of force against Imam Luqman Abdullah even though the criminal complaint against him made it clear Abdullah advocated violent jihad and urged followers never to surrender peacefully to authorities.

Shibly seems to have adopted anti-Semitic and anti-Israel views of his own. In one of his Facebook notes, Shibly equates Israelis with Nazis, juxtaposing images from the Holocaust with images of Israeli soldiers interacting with Palestinians. He also describes Israel as an apartheid state and frequently denounces its “state terrorism.”



Shibly’s disdain for Israel is matched only by his ill-will towards America. In addition to expressing distrust of government agencies, like the FBI, Shibly has also linked to an article calling President Bush a war criminal; accused America of being imperialistic and consumed by its pursuit of oil; and endorsed conspiracy theories about U.S. actions, including questioning the U.S. 9/11 narrative and promoting the idea that the U.S. backs Iraqi suicide bombings to justify its presence there.

In the 2010 interview, Shibly said that Sharia law, and not democracy, should be implemented in countries where Muslims are the majority.

In 2004, Shibly was detained with several others at the Canadian border while returning from the “Reviving Islamic Spirit” conference in Toronto. The conference featured a host of controversial speakers, including the virulent anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan and William Baker, an anti-Semite with neo-Nazi connections. Shibly sued the Department of Homeland Security for what he believed was racial profiling, but lost the initial case and the appeal after courts found his detainment was not overly intrusive.

“In this instance, we had credible intelligence that conferences similar to the one from which these individuals were leaving were being used by terrorist organizations to fundraise and to hide the travel of terrorists themselves,” said Kristi Clemens, spokeswoman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Mr. Shibly seems at times to support or work with Islamists who are leading advocates for political Islam,” wrote M. Zuhdi Jasser, the founder of the American-Islamic Forum for Democracy. “But when they [Islamists] become violent, he tries to distance himself with no corroborating public record to demonstrate a genuine ideological battle.”

This is the kind of Islamopropaganda with which Hassan Shibly is brainwashing your children.
