The White House on Monday bluntly warned Israel that its "occupation of Palestinian land" must end, dismissing Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's efforts to take back controversial campaign pledges.

In unusually tough language that underscores the fracture in relations between Washington and Israel, AFP reported, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said "an occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years must end."

McDonough criticized Netanyahu's pre-election pledge to block the creation of a Palestinian state and he questioned Netanyahu's efforts to undo the damage.

"We cannot simply pretend that those comments were never made, or that they don't raise questions about the Prime Minister's commitment to achieving peace through direct negotiations," he said.

"The Palestinian people must have the right to live in and govern themselves in their own sovereign state," he added.

McDonough is one of President Barack Obama's closest advisors, and his speech to the liberal pro-Israel lobby group J Street was followed closely in Washington.

Netanyahu's pledge deepened a long-running disagreement with Obama but his top aide said, the row was not based on "personal pique."

"America's commitment to a two-state solution is fundamental to US foreign policy," McDonough said. "It's been the goal of both Republican and Democratic presidents, and it remains our goal today."

OBAMA DECLARES WAR ON ISRAEL

by Bassam Tawil

content_preface a écrit:

Instead of congratulating the Israeli people for being one of the few countries in the Middle East to hold real free and democratic elections, Obama has decided to inflict collective punishment not on Netanyahu, but on all Israelis, even its Muslim and Christian citizens, for having an election that came out not the way he wanted it to.

The terrorists have also been following with great enthusiasm reports that the Obama Administration is considering reassessing its policy -- that the U.S. no longer considers Israel a strategic ally in the Middle East.

In short, Obama's anti-Israel stance is the best gift the Americans could have given to Muslim terrorists and radical Arabs.

Obama also seems not to want to face the fact that because of his withdrawals and neglect, the situation in the Middle East today, with the rise of Islamic State and other terror groups, is not the same as it was even five years ago.

Thanks to Obama's policies, the Iranians and their friends are now in control of Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, and much of Bahrain, and have surrounded the oilfields of the Persian Gulf. Meanwhile the U.S. has been forced to close down its embassies in three Arab countries -- Syria, Libya and Yemen.

Even Palestinians and Arabs are aware of the fact that under the current circumstances a Palestinian state would sooner or later be controlled by jihadists and Islamic terrorists, whose dream is the destruction of Israel, Europe and the U.S.

The last thing the Americans and Europeans need is another Islamic extremist country that exports terrorism -- with nuclear weapons -- to all parts of the earth.

The real enemy is not Netanyahu. The real enemy is Iran, Hizbullah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad and Islamic State.

Many Arabs and Muslims are rubbing their hands in joy as they watch U.S. President Barack Obama declare war on Israel after the victory of Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party in last week's general election.

They do not see the rising tensions between Obama and Netanyahu as the result of a personal dispute between two leaders. Instead, the dispute is seen by many Arabs and Muslims as part of the Obama Administration's strategy to undermine Israel and force it to make territorial concessions that would pose an existential threat to Israel.

At the beginning of his first term in office, he raised high hopes in the Arab and Islamic countries when he rushed to deliver an apologetic speech at the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Al-Azhar University in Cairo. His speech left many Arabs and Muslims with the impression that here, finally, is an American president who is prepared to sacrifice Israel for the sake of appeasing its enemies.

Muslims have long considered Obama to be on their side in the conflict with Israel. They were expecting him to become the first U.S. president to abandon Israel in favor of Arabs and Muslims. But since the 2009 speech in Cairo, there has been great disappointment with Obama in the Arab and Islamic countries for failing to "do something" about Israel.

Now, at long last, the Obama Administration's increased hostility toward Israel is being welcomed in many Arab and Islamic capitals. They are overjoyed to see that after failing the Arabs and Muslims for the past six years, Obama seems finally to be moving in the "right" direction.

Terrorist groups such as Hamas, Hizbullah, Al-Qaeda and Islamic Jihad are also expressing satisfaction with what they see as Obama's "declaration of war" against Israel. Palestinian Authority officials in the West Bank are also celebrating over the fact that Israel has become the number one enemy of the Obama Administration.

This week, a Palestinian Authority official was quoted as saying that the Palestinians would not be surprised if President Obama himself joined their campaign to file war crimes charges against Israel before the International Criminal Court. The official was reported to have told a Ramallah-based Western diplomat that Obama hates Israel and this was good news for the Palestinians.

Israel's enemies have been sitting on its borders and waiting for an opportunity to attack. One of the reasons they have been reluctant until now to wage an all-out war to destroy Israel was their fear that the U.S. would come to Israel's rescue. But now, Hizbullah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Islamic State and other terror groups are hopeful that Obama has finally decided to abandon Israel.

The terrorists also have been following with great enthusiasm reports that the Obama Administration is considering reassessing its policy in the Middle East in the wake of Netanyahu's electoral victory. This is exactly the kind of news they have been waiting to hear for so many years -- that the U.S. no longer considers Israel its main strategic ally in the Middle East.

Bassam Tawil writes that President Obama's anti-Israel stance is the best gift the Americans could have given to Islamist terrorists. Above, Israeli PM Netanyahu meets President Obama at the White House, May 20, 2011. (Image source: Israel PM office)

Reports that the Obama Administration will no longer support Israel in international forums and agencies, especially in the UN General Assembly and Security Council, are seen by a growing number of Arabs and Muslims as the beginning of the end of the partnership between the U.S. and Israel. This partnership has worried Israel's enemies for decades because it stands in the way of achieving their goal of wiping Israel off the face of the earth.

In short, Obama's anti-Israel stance is the best gift the Americans could have given to Islamist terrorists and radical Arabs. For the first time ever, the Obama Administration has created hope among Israel's enemies that the U.S. will at last give them his wholehearted support, just as he has been doing with Iran.

The sharp crisis between the Obama Administration and Israel has been taking place at a time when the U.S. is losing most of its Arab and Muslim friends, especially in Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, as well as other countries. It is also taking place at a time when Iran is capturing one Arab country after the other, and has now surrounded all the oilfields in the Persian Gulf, as well as having quietly for years infiltrated South America.

Thanks to Obama's policies, the Iranians and their friends are now in control of Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, and much of Bahrain, and have surrounded the oilfields of the Persian Gulf. Meanwhile, the U.S. has been forced to close down its embassies in three Arab countries -- Syria, Libya and Yemen.

Instead of facing the dangers of the Iranian drive to export the Islamic revolution to as many Arab and Islamic countries as possible -- with the help of an accelerating operation to acquire nuclear weapons -- Obama has turned Israel in general, and Netanyahu in particular, into the main threat to world peace and stability.

And instead of congratulating the Israeli people for being one of the few countries in the Middle East to hold real free and democratic elections, Obama has decided to inflict collective punishment not on Netanyahu, but on all Israelis, even its Muslim and Christian citizens, for having an election that came out not the way he wanted it to.

What Obama does seem to want is to force Israel to accept a Palestinian state that would pose an existential threat to it and become the source of instability and tensions in the region. Obama also seems not to want to face the fact that because of his withdrawals and neglect, the situation in the Middle East today, with the rise of Islamic State and other terror groups, is not the same as it was even five years ago.

Even Palestinians and Arabs are aware of the fact that under the current circumstances a Palestinian state would sooner or later be controlled by jihadists and Islamic terrorists, whose dream is the destruction of Israel, Europe and the U.S.

If Obama is interested in reconsidering his Middle East policy, he should start by examining the repercussions of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on regional and international security. The last thing Americans and Europeans need is another Islamic extremist country that exports terrorism -- most probably with nuclear weapons -- to all parts of the earth.

Obama needs to wake up. The real enemy is not Netanyahu. The real enemy is Iran, Hizbullah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Islamic State. Unfortunately, Obama -- as he continues undermining moderate Muslims and Arabs in the free world -- has decided to side with the wrong side.

Rome, 3 avril 2015 (Zenit.org) Anne Kurian

NETANYAHU INVOKES BIBLICAL PROPHECY TO OPEN WORLD'S EYES TO "DARKNESS" OF IRAN

By Lea Speyer April 16, 2015 , 11:45 am

Commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invoked messages of the Holocaust and biblical prophecy as a warning directed towards the expansionist and violent actions of the Iranian regime.

Seventy years ago, the bells of freedom rang in the free world. The horrific nightmare that had engulfed all humanity in the depths of blood had come to an end in Europe,” the prime minister said in an address at Yad Vashem on Thursday.

Leaders of modern countries realized that it was a propitious time to establish a new world order based on defending liberty, eradicating evil and opposing oppression. They articulated the most important lesson of World War II: democracies must not turn a blind eye to the aspirations of tyrannous regimes to expand,” Netanyahu stated. “A conciliatory attitude toward these regimes only increases their tendency for aggression. And if this aggression is not stopped in time, humanity might find itself in a much bloodier battle.”

The prime minister pointed out that “ahead of World War II, the world attempted to appease the Nazis. They wanted quiet at any price, and the terrible price did come.”

With the murder of 6 million Jews and millions of others during the Holocaust, the prime minister said “the conclusion was clear: there is no room for weakness when facing tyrannous regimes who send their murderous tentacles in every direction. Only by standing firm and adhering to the values of liberty and tolerance can we ensure the future of mankind.”

As world leaders shout “Never Again!” and promise to “oppose evil things as soon as they begin,” Netanyahu called these announcement “meaningless” as the same pattern that emerged before the Holocaust are happening before our very eyes once again with Iran.

“Did the world really learn a lesson from the inconceivable universal and Jewish tragedy of last century?” Netanyahu asked. “I wish I could stand here and tell you that the answer to this was yes.”

Just as the Nazis sought to overtake Europe, Iran seeks to overtake and destroy the Middle East, including the annihilation of Israel, the prime minister said. Human civilizations is facing growing threats that, if not challenged with a strong response, will overtake humanity.

“Radical Islamic forces are flooding the Middle East, destroying remnants of the past, torturing the helpless, murdering innocents. They hope to establish caliphates, more than one, like in the Middle Ages. At the same time, the extremist regime in Iran is oppressing its people; it is rushing forward and submerging the Middle East in blood and suffering – in Yemen, in Syria, in Lebanon, in Iraq, in Gaza and across the border of the Golan,” Netanyahu explained.

“Just as the Nazis aspired to crush civilization and to establish a ‘master race’ to replace it in controlling the world while annihilating the Jewish people, so too does Iran strive to gain control over the region, from which it would spread further, with the explicit intent of obliterating the Jewish state.”

The prime minister laid out the two main ways Iran is seeking to expand its power in the Middle East and carry out its murderous intent towards the Jewish state.

“Iran is advancing in two directions: the first is developing the ability to arm itself with nuclear weapons and accumulate a stockpile of ballistic missiles; and the second – exporting the Khomeinist revolution to many countries by heavily using terrorism and taking over large parts of the Middle East.”

Netanyahu slammed world leaders for turning a blind eye to the true intentions of Iran as they desperately seek to make peace with the evil regime. “Everything it out in the open – it is all taking place in broad daylight, in front of cameras,” he noted. “And yet, the blindness is immense.”

Quoting the Prophet Isaiah, the prime minister evoked a message of warning from God “as the civilized world is lulled into a slumber on a bed of illusions.”

“‘For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples,’ said the Prophet Isaiah. The determination and lessons that were acquired in blood seventy years ago are now dissipating, and the darkness and fog of denying reality are taking their place,” Netanyahu warned.

Netanyahu vowed that, despite push-back from many Western countries, Israel “will not flinch” in identifying threats and protecting the future of the Jewish state and nation. “We will continue to insist on the truth, and we will do everything we can to open the eyes that have closed.”

“I do not want to mislead anyone. We have tests ahead of us. We are in the midst of a great battle against the languor, the weakness, the denial of reality – we will stand in full force,” he said.

“Seventy years ago we were a people of war refugees, powerless and voiceless. Today we express what we have to say, and we are determined to guarantee our existence and our future. It is our duty to fight those who wish to destroy us, not to bow down to them nor to downplay reality. We will not allow the State of Israel to be a passing episode in the history of our nation.”

With a message of hope, Netanyahu ended his speech by invoking the message of Isaiah 52:2, “Shake thyself from the dust; put on thy beautiful garments my people.”

The nation of eternity has shaken itself from the dust, returned home, stood tall, established an outstanding country and an outstanding army, the Israel Defense Force, in which our brave and courageous sons and daughters serve,” he stated. “We will remember those who were murdered, we will guarantee life.”

FORUM PONDERS CHANGES AFTER ELECTIONS IN ISRAEL

Written by Dr. Nurit Hirschfeld, secretary general, UPF-Israel

Thursday, March 19, 2015

Jerusalem, Israel—Following the decisive victory of the Likud party in the March 17, 2015, elections, the Jerusalem Forum for Peace and Security met to discuss how this may influence Israel's foreign and security policies.

In the March 19 meeting, which took place at the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus, the chairman and the three speakers expressed their views with one clear consensus: Israel is heading toward a political confrontation internationally, and the coming years will be rather challenging for Israel.

Brig.-Gen. (Ret.) Yossi Kuperwasser, the former director general of Israel's Ministry for Strategic Affairs, predicted that the change in foreign and security policies would be clearly toward the right wing, in light of the majority of right-wing mandates. He explained that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not negotiate with the Palestinians, since he believes it is wrong to negotiate with anyone who does not recognize Israel as a legitimate state, and, further, because the Palestinians have rejected plans of dividing the country between Jews and Palestinians, starting with the UN partition plan in 1947. Brig-Gen. Kuperwasser concluded with a more optimistic comment, stemming from his experience of working with Prime Minister Menachem Begin, who signed the peace treaty with Egypt in 1977. He noted that there is also a possibility that a right-wing government will be better positioned to sign a peace treaty with the Palestinians, as it will face no opposition from the center-left parties.

Mr. Yaki Dayan, former consul general of Israel to Los Angeles and a specialist on Israeli-U.S. relations, estimated that the relationship between U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu will worsen. President Obama's ideology is in conflict with Israel’s national interests on two fundamental issues: The first is the threat of nuclear Iran, and the second is the establishment of a Palestinian state. However, Mr. Dayan sees the alliance between the United States and Israel as fundamentally strong and stable. The relationship between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to continue to be cold; however, no fundamental or serious crisis in Israeli-U.S. relations is predicted at the moment.

Mr. Pinhas Inbari, a veteran Arab affairs correspondent and a senior analyst for the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, said that the West Bank is an important key for regional stability. A withdrawal of Israel from those territories will inflict instability on Jordan—much like what happened in Egypt after Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Menashe Shaul, a Middle East expert, journalist and commentator, related the changes in the Arab world's attitudes toward the State of Israel in the past 50 years; Mr. Shaul explained that Israel no longer is seen as the greatest enemy. There are other and more serious problems, such as the rebel group Islamic State. Mr. Shaul noted also that the Arab world is fascinated by the success of Israel—a small country without natural resources. They are also interested in the democratic system in Israel, which by its structure allows Israeli Arabs to be elected to Parliament.

Professor Eliezer Glaubach, president of the Jerusalem Peace and Security Forum, concluded the discussion: “Israel is surrounded by 22 Arab nations, which are part of the bigger Muslim world. This fact has implications on the security situation of the State of Israel.” However, Professor Glaubach pointed to the Arab League’s proposal and suggested discussing it. “The new Israeli government should be aiming to achieve a peace agreement with the Palestinians as well as maintaining the military deterrence of Israel—not in order to put it into use, but rather to ensure the security and peace of the State of Israel.”

JEWS WANTS POPE AS “PEACE MAKER”

This entry was posted on April 20, 2015 by ivarfjeld, in 1.

jewish leader Pinchas Goldschmidt and leading European rabbis are set to meet with the Pope to discuss anti-Semitism in Europe.

Jewish leader Pinchas Goldschmidt put his hope in the Pope as a “peace broker”.

Leading European rabbis are set to meet with Pope Francis on Monday. The meeting will take place in the Vatican, the first time that a delegation of leading rabbis has ever met with the Pope there. The delegation will be led by Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, President of the Conference of European Rabbis.

Commenting on the upcoming meeting, the Interfax news service quoted Rabbi Goldschmidt as saying that “An era of constructive dialogue between the Vatican and Europe has arrived. We are allies today and we deeply respect Pope Francis as a person who has played an enormous role in promoting the development of inter-faith dialogue and in establishing peaceful relations between nations and religions. We hope that jointly we will ward off the danger of Islamic radicalism threatening Europe.

“We are also deeply concerned about the fate of European Jews, many of whom are leaving their homes under this threat,” Rabbi Goldschmidt added. According to EJC President Dr. Moshe Kantor, “many streets in our European cities have become hunting grounds for Jews, and some Jews are now forced to avoid community institutions and synagogues as a result. Some are choosing to leave the continent, many are afraid to walk the streets and even more are retreating behind high walls and barbed wire. This has become the new reality of Jewish life in Europe.”

My comment:

It is never wrong to talk and have a dialogue with people of other faiths.  Like Jewish leaders visiting the Vatican to have a conversation with the Pope.

The problem with this President of the Conference of European Rabbis, is that he accept the authority of the Pope. That the Pontiff has a special role in “establishing peaceful relations between nations and religions”.

If the Pope was a representative of Jesus the Messiah, “peaceful relations between nations” would not be on his agenda. The Messiah explained that he did not come with “peace’, but with a sword. And that the “peace” the World can offer is rather pointless.
Citation:

 Matteus 10:34-36

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.  For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;  and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

Jesus did not promote “peace between religions” either. He said that all who had come before Him were “thief’s and robbers”. Including Buddha and thousands of Hindu “gods”. And that only He could save a man from his sins.  Only when you understand that you are an enemy of God, the true peace that Jesus offers can be understood. Accepting the death and resurrection of the Messiah as the lone salvation there is, will lead to a surrender to His Lordship.

Only as a follower of Jesus the Messiah, a man can have peace with God. And all Christians should pray for the chance to share the gospel with other people. Even in a hostile environment, where they run the risk of being martyred.

It may seem hard to fathom but it is obvious that Israelis are not be told what is really going on in Israel. Everywhere you look New Border Crossings are being built and it appears that lines have already been redrawn for a Palestinian State and to Internationalize Jerusalem. While the Pope of Rome plans to make this a city for "All Nations"

The Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum (PIEF) of the World Council of Churches invites member churches, faith-based communities, and civil society organizations around the world to join together in 2015 for a week of advocacy and action in support of an end to the illegal occupation of Palestine and a just peace for all in Palestine and Israel. Congregations and individuals around the globe who share the hope of justice shall unite during the week to take peaceful actions, together, to create a common international public witness.

The theme of the week in 2015 is: "God has broken down the dividing walls"

How to get involved

As participants in the World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel, from 20 to 26 September 2015, churches around the world shall send a clear signal to policy-makers, community groups, and their own parishes about the urgent need for a peace settlement that ends the illegal occupation and secures the legitimate rights and future of both peoples.

Participants will organize and join in events and activities around the following three principles:
1. Praying with churches living under occupation, using a special prayer from Jerusalem and other worship resources prepared for the week.
2. Educating about actions that make for peace, and about facts on the ground that do not create peace, especially issues related to prisoners.
3. Advocating with political leaders using ecumenical policies that promote peace with justice.

Why?

This annual observance of a week of prayer, education, and advocacy calls participants to work for an end to the illegal occupation of Palestine, so that Palestinians and Israelis can finally live in peace. It has been 66 years since the creation of the State of Israel. This has not led to the creation of an independent Palestinian state but has only deepened the tragedy of the Palestinian people. It is now 47 years since the occupation of East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza overwhelmed the peaceful vision of one land, two peoples.
Yet the dream of one nation cannot be fulfilled at the expense of another.

The action week's message is that now:
  • It's time for Palestinians and Israelis to share a just peace.
  • It's time for freedom from occupation.
  • It's time for equal rights.
  • It's time for the healing of wounded souls.

WRITTEN PROOF VATICAN TO BUILD ISRAEL'S THIRD TEMPLE

Ajoutée le 6 mai 2015

In a secret document we discovered written proof that the Vatican will build Israel's Third Holy Temple. This shocking discovery goes on to reveal what we have reported before that Jerusalem will be an international city, with The Pope of Rome its head.

AMERICAN CHUTZPAH! DAMNING ISRAELI SOVEREIGNTY

Jerusalem is and has always been the Capital City of the State of Israel! And Jerusalem has been the most important city for the Jewish People/Religion/Nation. It is well documented in the Bible, a document/testament recognized not only by Jews but by Christians and others, too.

So why has the United States Government, State Department and now the American Supreme Court refused to recognize this fact?
Citation:

The US Supreme Court on Monday struck down a law that would allow American citizens born in Jerusalem to have Israel listed as their birthplace on passports, handing a victory to President Barack Obama's administration.

The Obama administration argued that the law unlawfully encroached on the president's power to set foreign policy and would have, if enforced, undermine the US government's claim to be a neutral peacemaker in the Middle East. (i24 news)

It is davka this continued American policy, from the day that the State of Israel was established in 1948, which is interference and shows that the United States is not "a neutral peacemaker," pure and simple!

The United States, regardless of the various presidents and their affinity or hostility to Israel, has never been anything close to neutral. Starting with Harry Truman who needed personal arm-twisting to get the State Department to vote in favor of recognizing Israel in the United Nations to Barack Hussein Obama whose obvious antipathy to Israel can't be hidden, there has never been an American President willing to do what they do for every single other country in the world and recognize its choice as Capital City. It's popular to promote transferring the American Embassy to Jerusalem when campaigning, but no president has ever done it after being elected.

Can you name me any other country that is snubbed and insulted like Israel is?

It is the right of a sovereign country to choose its own Capital City!!!

As I've written many times, the best response would be for Israel to transfer all of its embassies to cities of its choice. Do this for every single country that refuses to recognize Jerusalem as our Capital City.

There is only one logical reason for this horrendously insulting situation. Call a spade a spade.  It's ANTISEMITISM!!

Rome, 8 juin 2015 (ZENIT.org) Anita Bourdin

http://fr.timesofisrael.com/signup/?utm_source=toi.fr-articles&utm_medi…

U.S. REMAINS ON PERILOUS SHEMITAH COURSE

June 15, 2015 | LEO HOHMANN

With the climax of the Shemitah year now just three months away on Sept. 13, America continues to saunter down the path of defiance to the will of God, say Christian leaders, inviting judgment on the land.

The latest affront to biblical sensibilities came this week when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Americans born in Jerusalem must not have “Israel” listed on their passports as their place of birth, saying the city remains part of disputed territory, WND reported. Such a move could provoke Muslims to violence, President Obama’s U.S. State Department argued, so the passport should say “Jerusalem” not “Israel.” Congress took the opposite stand, and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the executive branch.

The Palestinian Authority hailed the decision. Saeb Erekat, chief PA negotiator, said it “sends a clear message to Israel that its policies of colonization are null and void.”

American evangelical Christian leaders were disappointed, saying the decision is just one more nail in a coffin that is getting darker by the day.

“Not allowing to declare that Jerusalem is in Israel is a final straw of judgment for America and I’ll tell you why,” said Mark Biltz, pastor of El Shaddai Ministries and author of “Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs.”

“There are three Jews on the Supreme Court (Elana Kagan, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer) that voted against saying Jerusalem was a part of Israel because they were afraid of the ‘giants’ in the political arena around the world,” Biltz told WND.

Biltz finds that particularly prescient in light of the fact that this weekend’s Torah reading that will be read in synagogues all over the world just so happens to be “Shelach.”

“This is a very short story about the spies that brought the bad report, making a false judgment call, because they feared the giants in the land,” Biltz said. “God told them Israel was theirs for the taking, and it was a horrible disaster resulting in having to wander for 40 years in the desert.”

The Jewish sages have always said history is lived out in some way in each of the Torah portions, Biltz said.

“I agree with Chief Justice (John) Roberts’ dissenting opinion. He stated that ‘Never before has this Court accepted a President’s direct defiance of an Act of Congress in the field of foreign affairs.’”

Carl Gallups, pastor of Florida-based Hickory Hammock Baptist Church, host of a Christian radio show and author of “Final Warning: Understanding the Trumpet Days of Revelation,” agrees that time is growing short and America’s days as the leader of the free world could be numbered. It is conspicuously absent in end-time Bible prophecy.

“There can be no doubt that there is an amazing convergence of end-time prophecies occurring right before our eyes. Think of where we are in history – Israel is back in its land – a 2,500-year-old prophecy fulfillment – Jerusalem is in the hands of Israel, the nations of the world are rallying against Israel, including the U.S., and Israel is now literally surrounded by Islamic enemies who are publicly calling for the complete destruction of the Jewish state,” Gallups told WND.

Plus, he said, we are watching the Ezekiel 38 “alignment” of nations.

“Those specific nations were predicted to conspire together against Israel in the very last days – and we see these alignments (Turkey, Iran, Russia, etc.) playing out today,” he said.

With the rise of ISIS, the Middle East has become a veritable Islamic-led powder keg that could potentially explode into a World War III scenario, he said.

And it’s all happening in line with the seven-year cycle of the Shemitah, blood moons and solar eclipses.

The seven-year biblical cycle and its impact on America was unlocked by the research of Jonathan Cahn, who published his findings in the 2014 New York Times-bestseller, “The Mystery of the Shemitah,” which followed his earlier blockbuster, “The Harbinger.”

Jonathan Cahns Mystery of the Shemitah Unlocked DVD is available from Prophecy News Watch here

The biblical principle of the Shemitah was given to ancient Israel, when God told Moses in Deuteronomy 15: 1-2 that the Israelites were to observe a sabbath year once every seven years, allowing the land to rest with no sowing or reaping, while fellow Israelites were to be released from their debts. The actual canceling out of the debts took place on Elul 29, the last day of the Hebrew year.

As long as the ancient Jewish nation followed the one true God, the Shemitah resulted in economic, spiritual and material blessings. But when Israel abandoned God’s ways and embraced pagan customs, the Shemitah manifested as judgment. The judgments could start out small but get progressively worse with each passing seven-year cycle until the nation repented.

Cahn posits in his book that this principle extends beyond Israel to other nations that were founded on Judeo-Christian values. England, Germany and Russia were all humbled and saw their empires collapse. The major economic downturns since the end of World War II have coincided with the Shemitah, including the last two stock-market crashes in September 2001 and September 2008, both of which occurred on the fateful day of Elul 29. The next Shemitah cycle reaches its climax on Elul 29 or Sept. 13, 2015.

Cahn also points out that the fall of Vietnam to the communists also occurred in a Shemitah year. All of these economic and military crises are meant to “shake” America’s people and get them to turn back to God, according to Cahn.

The removal of prayer from schools in the 1960s, followed by the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion in the Shemitah year of 1973, touched off a period of judgment, Cahn believes. Stock markets crashed in 1973, 1980 and 1987, all Shemitah years. The 1990s were largely free of major downturns, but the ominous pattern returned with the terrorist attacks and resulting record stock-market crash of September 2001 (on Elul 29), followed by another record crash exactly seven years later in September 2008, also on Elul 29

The next Elul 29 in a Shemitah year looms like a laser beam on Sept. 13, 2015. But it falls on a Sunday, when the markets will be closed.

Will there be a “trigger event” this time around like the 9/11 attacks in 2001? Or could the markets collapse by themselves on the Friday before Elul 29, which happens to be Sept. 11, 2015?

Even if nothing happens in three months, Cahn told WND in previous interviews that he doesn’t believe America is escaping judgment minus widespread repentance. It will eventually come, he said.

If a once-Christian nation continues to go its own way toward secularism and other ungodly “isms,” the nation’s influence and standing in the world will dissipate and its economy will eventually collapse, Cahn believes.

He has repeatedly said it’s possible absolutely nothing could happen on or near Sept. 13 “because God can’t be put in a box.”

But eventually, whether it’s in 2015, 2016 or beyond, judgment will come, he says. Other warning signs appear in the heavens, with the four lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses over a span of 17 months, in accordance with the biblical feast days of Passover and Tabernacles. The first solar eclipse was on March 20, the exact center point of the Shemitah year, and the second will by on Elul 29 or Sept. 13.

Many world leaders, political figures, and major media and business personalities, including Pope Francis and billionaire George Soros, have recently been quoted in the mainstream media as declaring that we are now “on the verge of another world war.”

“Many prophecy experts see potential harbingers of biblical prophecy in these dire warnings,” Gallups said.

And, the nation continues to experience what Gallups calls “an outpouring of the Sodom and Gomorrah spirit sweeping the world.”

James Dobson, John Hagee, NRB President Jerry Johnson, Matt Staver of Liberty Counsel, Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse and others have joined the chorus of Christian leaders who recently signed a document warning that if America goes forth with redefining marriage, there will be consequences. They have pledged to engage in civil disobedience if the ruling comes down in favor of same-sex marriage. The petition has now been signed by more than 43,000 Americans.

“The unthinkable is now being called ‘mainstream’ and ‘normal,’” Gallups said.

Will U.S. follow Ireland’s lead?

Ireland recently became the first country to decide by popular vote that it will legalize same-sex marriage. The United States Supreme Court is due to rule on the same question later this month and many legal analysts predict it will decide to place the U.S. in the same category as Ireland, without the benefit of a plebiscite.

“With the advent of instantaneous communication and information systems in the hands of practically everyone on the planet – another biblical end-time prophecy fulfillment – the spirit of ‘good being called evil and evil being called good,’ is now an international affair,” Gallups said.

Perhaps most troubling, however, is that most in the Western Church are still unaware of what’s going on around them.

That reminds Gallups of another biblical passage.

“Just as in the days of Noah and the days of Lot, most of the world doesn’t even know, or care, that it is spitting on God’s Word in these matters. Jesus said in Luke 17 that the end times, just before the coming of the Son of Man, would be ‘just like this.’ I believe, along with millions of others around the world, we are now in those days,” he said.

“We are the first generation in history to see all of these things converging upon the world scene – coming down to a fine point – all at once. And the convergence appears to many prophecy watchers to be coming to an amazing pinnacle sometime this fall, with the Shemitah cycle – or perhaps next fall with the occurrence of the super Shemitah.

The year 2016 could be more pivotal than 2015 if it is indeed the “super Shemitah.” This is what the Bible describes as the “year of Jubilee.” This occurs once every seven Shemitah cycles, in the 50th year, when all slaves were freed and land returned to its original owners.

Gallups said there is a danger whenever studying Bible prophecy that some teachers will go too far and set dates for various predictions. But this should not prevent Christians from studying Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel and the other prophetic books of the Bible and heeding their warnings, he said.

“I have been a preacher and teacher of the Bible and biblical prophecy for over 30 years. I have been a senior pastor for 29 of those years. I am not an alarmist, a sensationalist, or a date-setter,” he said. “However, I do know the Word of God and because I am also a television and radio pundit and radio host I am an avid student of geopolitics and current affairs. When one considers the undeniable convergence of prophetic happenings that the world is now experiencing, I can understand why there is an intense focus on the next couple of fall ‘Shemitah’ cycles.”

Ultimately, the matter of the details of how it is all going to unfold is in God’s hands, he said.

“Certainly there is no singular person, or even eschatologically persuaded group of people who have every jot and tittle correct,” he said. “But, I don’t see how a serious student of biblical prophecy can deny the amazing and prophetic times in which we are now living. If there was ever a time to be right with our Creator through Jesus Christ, His Son and our Savior – it’s now.”

As Cahn writes: “Nothing significant has to happen. … The phenomenon may manifest itself in one cycle, not in another, and then again in the next. And the focus of the message is not date-setting but the call of God to repentance and return. At the same time, something of significance could take place, and it is wise to note the times.”

“I believe a great shaking is coming to this nation and to the world. I believe that this shaking will involve economic and financial collapse, though it will not necessarily be confined or limited to those realms.”

LE PREMIER MINISTRE PALESTINIEN A DEMISSIONNE, METTANT AINSI UN TERME AU GOUVERNEMENT DE RECONCILIATION NATIONAL...

mercredi 17 juin 2015

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cLO4yIOluEM/VYFpo8SgldI/AAAAAAAAyH4/lBCipWymLW4/s…

Ship loaded with solar panels and medical supplies to join two others in flotilla; pro-Palestinian activists aboard say no violence will be used

A flotilla carrying pro-Palestinian activists is heading to Crete en route to the Gaza Strip in a bid to break the Israeli and Egyptian-imposed blockade on the Palestinian enclave.

http://www.timesofisrael.com/signup/?utm_source=toi-articles&utm_medium…The Marianne of Gothenburg, a Scandinavian fishing boat, traveled from Sweden through the waters of Norway, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal before reaching Messina, Italy, last week.

“The short stop in Messina was an intensive one with meetings with peace activists and a press conference at the city hall,” the group noted on its website.

On board the ship are Swedish journalist Kajsa Ekis Ekman, Swedish-Israeli composer Dror Feiler, Spanish Member of the European Parliament Ana Maria Miranda Paza, and others.

The boat was making its way to Crete, Greece, on Sunday, before attempting to breach the blockade and reach Gaza. Along the way it will meet up with at least two other boats that make up the flotilla.

The activists say the vessels are carrying a cargo of solar panels and medical supplies for Gaza residents, who are still recovering from last summer’s Operation Protective Edge, and expect to reach the Strip by the end of the month, unless they are intercepted.

Activists told al-Jazeera that they have a “strict nonviolence policy” and would not attempt to use force against the Israeli Navy should they be intercepted in international waters or beyond.

Israel and Egypt imposed a blockade on Gaza in 2007 when the Islamist Hamas group took control of the Strip in a bloody coup, ousting the Palestinian Authority leadership.

Both countries say the security blockade is meant to prevent Hamas, a terror group avowedly committed to the destruction of Israel, from importing weaponry into Gaza to use against Israel.

The IDF has intercepted a number of civilian ships carrying weapons headed for Gaza in recent years. It has also turned away attempts by activists to break the blockade.

In 2010, Israeli commandos intercepted the Turkish-flagged Mavi Marmara, the largest ship in a flotilla dispatched to Gaza by the Turkish relief agency Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), and were violently attacked by those on board, with several soldiers seriously injured. Nine Turks died when the commandos opened fire in what Israel said was self-defense, and one more died in hospital last year.

The assault on the ship sparked widespread condemnation and provoked a major diplomatic crisis between Turkey and Israel. Ties between the two former allies have yet to recover.

Rome, 26 juin 2015 (ZENIT.org) Staff Reporter

Palestine, 26 juin 2015 (ZENIT.org) Staff Reporter

Votre Excellence Mgr Gallagher,

Op-Ed: THE VATICAN WANTS THE TEMPLE MOUNT TAKEN FROM THE JEWS

Giulio Meotti

In 2000, speaking in a mosque in Palestinian-held Ramallah, Yasser Arafat declared, “No one will succeed in removing us from our land, including Jerusalem, and the Palestinian flag will fly from the Temple Mount and from the churches in Jerusalem.”

Arafat could say that because he had won the Vatican's support for his terroristic strategy. On June 26th, 2015, the Vatican signed its first treaty with the “State of Palestine”. It is the logical conclusion of a long path.

When the pontiff John Paul II ascended to the Temple Mount in 2000, Judaism’s most holy site, he wasn’t welcomed by Israeli officials, but by representatives of the Palestinian Authority, and the holy complex was bedecked in Arab flags. It was the Pope's implicit recognition of Islamic hegemony. It was taken to mean that Islam and Christianity superseded Judaism and have the right to “inherit” its holy places.

Since then, the Holy See’s taking a stance as the ally of the heads of the Palestinian Authority in the place most holy to the Jewish people, became almost a fait accompli.

The Catholic de-legitimization of Israel passes through the war on Jerusalem and the war on Jerusalem passes through the Temple Mount. The site where the Jewish people worshipped for hundreds of years and the focal point of every practicing Jew’s prayers is under assault from the Vatican.

The Vatican-PLO agreements have been signed to enable the eviction of the Jews from Jerusalem. This follows a memorandum signed by Palestinian and Vatican officials in 2000 which repeated the Vatican call for an international mandate to preserve “the proper identity and sacred character” of Jerusalem. It means a return to a time when half of Israel’s capital was under Islamic control, the Old City was closed to Jews, the synagogues were desecrated, and walls, barbed wire, and snipers divided the city by force.

The Vatican is consistent. In 1964, when Pope Paul VI made the first papal visit to Jerusalem, Jews and Christians with Israeli passports were barred from entering the Old City. And no Vatican official complained about that.

What will the Jews do apart from pleasing tyrants and their collaborators? Here's what should do. Start taking control of the Temple Mount. It will be harder to take you away.

GAZA-BOUND FLOTILLA VESSEL SEIZED BY ISRAELI NAVY

Activists say the Marianne was intercepted by Israel's military around 100 nautical miles from Gaza's shore.

Israel has boarded and taken over a vessel attempting to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip, officials said.

In a statement the Israeli army said on Monday that it did not use force in redirecting the main boat Marianne to the Israeli city of Ashdod.

Petros Stergiou, a spokesperson for the flotilla, told Al Jazeera that organisers lost contact with the Marianne at around 2am local time on Monday morning, as three military boats approached.

"What we learned is that the Israeli navy attacked the Marianne around 100 nautical miles from the shore of Gaza," Stergiou said.

"They said they could see three military boats approaching them that had identified themselves as being military.

"Once again, the Israeli government and its military has acted like state pirates and attacked our boat in international waters."

Israeli army spokesman Peter Lerner said the seizure of the ship was "uneventful" and it would now be escorted to Ashdod in southern Israel.

After repeated appeals and following refusal to change course, the vessel is now being escorted to Ashdod Port.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended the Israeli navy for detaining the passengers on the ship.

"This flotilla is nothing but a demonstration of hypocrisy and lies that is only assisting the Hamas terrorist organisation and ignores all of the horrors in our region," Netanyahu said.

From Al Jazeera's vault: A Voyage of Life and Death

The vessel is part of the Freedom Flotilla III - a convoy of four ships carrying pro-Palestinian activists including Arab Israeli lawmaker Basel Ghattas, Tunisia's former president Moncef Marzouki and at least one European lawmaker.

Previous attempts

In a similar bid to break the blockade in 2010, a pre-dawn raid by Israeli commandos on the Turkish ferry Mavi Marmara killed 10 Turkish activists.

In 2013, Israel apologised for "operational mistakes" in the raid. A compensation deal is still being negotiated between the two countries.

Israeli soldiers and officials who took part in the attack are being tried in absentia in Turkey for war crimes.

Several attempts since have been thwarted, but without bloodshed.

Mark Worley, in Doha, contributed to this story.

HOLY SEE AND PALESTINE SIGN COMPREHENSIVE AGREEMENT

Officially Recognizes Palestine As A State, Promotes Two-State Solution to Conflict

Rome, June 26, 2015 (ZENIT.org) Junno Arocho Esteves

The Holy See has signed a Comprehensive Agreement with the State of Palestine today.

The agreement defines the juridical status of the Catholic Church in the country as well as officially recognizing Palestine as a State. It also promotes a two-State solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In an address following the signing, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States noted that the agreement “marks an important step on the path of good relations which for some time have happily existed between the Parties.”

The current agreement, he went on to say, was indicative of the progress made by the Palestinian Authority, particularly its recognition by the United Nations as a non-member Observer State. He also expressed his hope that the agreement would help foster a solution to the current conflict.

“It is my hope that the present Agreement may in some way be a stimulus to bringing a definitive end to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which continues to cause suffering for both Parties,” he said.

“I also hope that the much desired two-State solution may become a reality as soon as possible.”

Archbishop Gallagher went on to say that the peace process can only move forward if Israel and Palestine negotiate directly, with the support of the international community.

“In the complex reality of the Middle East, where in some countries Christians have even suffered persecution, this Agreement offers a good example of dialogue and cooperation, and I earnestly hope that this may serve as a model for other Arab and Muslim majority countries,” he said.

Palestine’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Riad Al-Malki, said that the agreement “reinforces our bond with new and unprecedented provisions related to the special status of Palestine as the birthplace of Christianity and as the cradle of monolithic religions.”

In recognizing Palestinian statehood, Al-Malki said that the agreement recognizes the right to freedom, dignity and self-determination “in an independent state...free from the shackles of occupation.”

“It also supports the vision for peace and justice in the region in accordance with international law and based on two states, living side by side in peace and security, on the basis of the 1967 borders,” he said.

Concluding his address, Al-Malki conveyed President Mahmoud Abbas’, as well as the State of Palestine’s intentions to abide by the newly signed Agreement.

POPE FRANCIS VS. THE SANHEDRIN

Pure hypocrisy from the Sanhedrin who knows for years the secret deal between the Vatican and the land of Israël. Their secret meeting under Bill Clinton is a prove of this trahison. The Sanhedrin are submit to the "Rothschild family is a highly wealthy family descending from Mayer Amschel Rothschild, a court Jew to the German Landgraves of Hesse-Kassel, in the Free City of Frankfurt"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rothschild_familyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_City_of_Frankfurt .

The trial and judgment will be on September 20th, 2015, just before the arrival of Pope Francis in United States. Will the Pope will propose the rebuilding of the Temple at that moment? Very possible so the Sanhedrin will agree this great moment and will submit (by ruse) to the Pope and Rome.

July 09, 2015 | Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz

A re-established and self declared Israeli Sanhedrin, the religious High Court composed of 71 sages, has declared that it is putting Pope Francis on trial unless he retracts his statement that the Jews have no right to the land of Israel or to Jerusalem.

In February 2013, the Vatican officially recognized the “State of Palestine” but more significantly, the Vatican signed a treaty in June with “Palestine” in which the Holy See switched its diplomatic relations from the Palestinian Liberation Organization to the “State of Palestine”. This treaty is the first legal document negotiated between the Holy See and the Palestinian state and as such, constitutes an official recognition.

The trial and judgment will be on September 20th, 2015. If Pope Francis chooses to ignore the summons, he will be judged in absentia.

The Sanhedrin sent a letter to Pope Francis in reaction to the Vatican’s recent support of the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral moves to declare themselves a nation, reported the Hebrew magazine Matzav Haruach on June 24.

The letter stated:

“Because the Vatican recognized the organization known as the Palestinian Authority as a nation, and has begun to refer to it as a nation in its documents. His honor has named the head of said authority as an ‘Angel of Peace’, as was explained by a spokesman for the Vatican, that his intention was to encourage Abu Mazen to advance towards peace. These actions, to our great dismay, are consistent with a long series of actions and stances that are as in the days of the Roman Catholic Religion, that swore to persecute Israel because we refused to accept their Messiah as the Messiah of Israel, and to renounce our faith. The recent announcements and actions of the Vatican are a rebuke to the Jewish Nation and to the Bible, which you use to interpret the prophecies, as if God has abandoned his original Nation of Israel. Reality has proven the opposite to be true.”

“We require from you an apology for your recognizing as a nation those who stole the land, those who are known as the Palestinian Authority, and we are informing the Vatican that the sole God given right to the land of Israel is to the Nation of Israel. If His Honor the Pope, and the Vatican, do not apologize within two weeks of receiving this letter, and if he does not change his ways, we shall judge these actions in the Court of Mount Zion, in a court of 71 Jewish elders of Zion, and enact the prophecy of ‘The liberators will rise up upon Mount Zion, to judge the Mountain of Esau and the kingdom shall be God’s’ (Obadiah 1:21). The court shall judge the Vatican in its presence or in absentia, and it is possible that the Vatican will be found guilty of anti-Semitism, as has been known to be done several times throughout history, and to place responsibility upon the Vatican for all of the outcomes of its actions.”

The letter was signed, “The Secretariat of the Court of Mount Zion”. The authorized representatives of the High Court are Rabbi Yoel Schwartz, Rabbi Dov Levanoni, Rabbi Israel Ariel, Rabbi Daniel Stavsky, Rabbi Yehuda Edri, and Rabbi Dov Meir Shtein.

The Sanhedrin has no political or legal status, and clearly has no authority over the Vatican. However, it is comprised of some of the greatest rabbis of the modern Jewish nation, men who have dedicated themselves to Torah, serving God and Israel. One of the main leaders behind the revival of the Sanhedrin is Rabbi Yoel Schwartz, well known for his advocacy in strengthening non-Jewish support for Israel.

The court’s rulings have the highest spiritual significance. The commandment to appoint judges is learned directly from the Bible (Exodus 18:13) and the present Sanhedrin is an effort to reestablish a tradition dating back to Moses.

Pope Francis’ recent visit to Israel and many of his actions caused disturbing waves in the difficult situation in the region.

His controversial description of Abbas as an “angel of peace” led to the Vatican backtracking and attempts to placate Israel. The Pope’s much-publicized meditation at a section of the security barrier prominently displaying pro-boycott graffiti was used by the Palestinians in an appeal to remove the much-needed security measure. That section of the wall also showed graffiti comparing the wall around Bethlehem to the Warsaw Ghetto. Pictures of the Pope’s visit to the wall went viral and became a symbol for anti-Israel sentiment.

While in Israel, Pope Francis attended Sunday mass at the Church of the Nativity. In his sermon, Latin Patriarch Fuoad Twal accused Israelis of being the present-day version of Christ killers by referring to the Palestinians as walking “in the footsteps of the Divine Child,” and likening the Israelis to King Herod. Shockingly, Pope Francis echoed his remarks in a later speech.

Pope Francis embraced the Palestinian mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Muhammed Hussein calling him “dear brother” in a show of great affection. In 2012, Hussein said it was the destiny of Muslims to kill Jews, who he claims are “subhuman beasts and the enemies of Allah.” Sheikh Hussein has also praised suicide bombers and said their souls “tell us to follow in their path,” remarks the Pope has never condemned.

Most significant, perhaps was a story of the Pope’s visit Caroline Glick told The Jerusalem Post. In a conversation with the Pope, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu mentioned that Jesus spoke Hebrew. Pope Francis corrected him, saying that Jesus spoke Aramaic. A flustered Netanyahu agreed that educated Jews at the time spoke Aramaic, but the language of the common people and the language Jesus preached in was Hebrew.

Reuters wrote of the exchange, noting that, “Modern-day discourse about Jesus is complicated and often political.” The report went on to explain, “Palestinians sometimes describe Jesus as a Palestinian. Israelis object to that.”

Pope Francis embraced Arab leaders, but more significantly, he accepted Palestinian national status, precluding any negotiated peace process, and voiding the validity of Israel’s claim to their God-given homeland.

Jerusalem, Israel—Thirty guests of UPF-Israel attended the Jerusalem Interfaith Forum on May 28, 2015 at Hebrew University. At a time when tensions are high and fundamental religious forces are gaining power in the region, the Jerusalem Interfaith Forum convened to discuss “The Holy Places in Jerusalem as an Anchor of Stability in a Long-Term Arrangement.”

The event opened with greetings, given by Sheik Ali Birani, president of the Jerusalem Interfaith Forum, who is from Daliat El-Carmel. Following Sheik Birani’s opening remarks, Dr. Nurit Hirschfeld, secretary general of UPF-Israel spoke about the topic of the forum: “Our session is dedicated to searching [for] paths for stable peace in Jerusalem, and [how] the holy places in Jerusalem [can be] a solution [to] the conflict, rather than an excuse for [it].”

Father Masoud Abu-Hatoum, a Greek Melkite priest from Nazareth, was the first speaker. He emphasized Jesus words’ of love, and the way of love and forgiveness, to point the way for peace for rather than conflict over the holy places: “God is living in us. If we want to feel God, we need to do to others only what we want people to do to us,” he said.

Sheik Samich Natur, editor in chief of Al-Amama, a Druze magazine in Israel, spoke about peace principles in the Druze religion, which call for the respect of all faiths, as long as the religion or faith does not harm followers of the Druze faith. Sheik Natur also said that the Druze religion respects all holy places of other religions. The Druze religion’s respect for and way of living in peace with all faiths was inspiring.

Rabbi Edgar Nof, chair of the Bridges for Hope, a non-profit in Haifa, said that holy places are not revered as holy by people today. He talked about his yearning, as a Jew, for the Western Wall and Jerusalem to be respected as holy places—not places to be disputed over. “We should elevate [ourselves] morally [so that] we can feel the holiness of these places,” said Rabbi Nof. He mentioned that several days ago, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) had destroyed pieces of art and holy places. The way in which they destroy holy places has become major news.  “But, at the same attack, thousands of people were murdered. It seemed that the media cared less for the human lives [that were lost] then for the holy places that were destroyed,” he said.  “Holiness should [begin within] ourselves, in our sensitivity for human life and for people, rather than for buildings,” concluded Rabbi Nof.
