U.S. EUROPEAN COMMAND KICKS OFF EXERCISE AUSTERE CHALLENGE 2015

By U.S. European Command Communication and Engagement Directorate

United States European Command

March 18, 2015

U.S. European Command began Exercise Austere Challenge 2015 this week, a large-scale defense exercise that consists of computer-based command post simulations. The scenarios selected for Exercise Austere Challenge are designed to train our forces to face any situation.

The exercise is aimed at training and preparing USEUCOM and component command headquarters staffs to plan for, and respond to crises. The exercise occurs at multiple locations throughout the USEUCOM area of operations, specifically in Germany and the U.K. It's a part of a regularly-occuring exercise series which started a few decades ago.

Training events such as Austere Challenge 15 are vital to ensuring that the men and women of USEUCOM are postured as America's forward presence for the 21st century, postured alongside our proven, indispensable European allies and partners to ensure regional stability.

POPE FRANCIS MAKES EASTER PHONE CALL TO ARGENTINE MILITARY BASE IN ANTARTICA

Not a good sign.

Officer Says He Was Unable To "Hold Back Tears of Joy"

Rome, April 07, 2015 (Zenit.org) Junno Arocho Esteves

Argentine military personnel stationed in Antarctica received a surprising morning call on the eve of Easter Sunday.

According to Il Sismografo, Pope Francis called the "Vicecomodoro Marambio" military base on April 4th at 7:15 a.m.

Petty Officer Gabriel Almada said that the Holy Father sent Easter greetings to the personnel stationed at the base as well as their families.

"I can’t describe the emotion that I experienced," Almada says. The officer said that he could not "hold back tears of joy" when he realized that the Pope was on the other line.

"It was an experience that will remain in my memory forever," he added.

Located 60 miles from Esperanza, the Marambio base is one 13 Argentine bases in Antarctica.

USS DONALD COOK DEPARTS PLYMOUTH, CONTINUES FOST TRAINING

Story Number: NNS150408-14Release Date: 4/8/2015 1:03:00 PM

By Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Karolina A. Oseguera

PLYMOUTH, England (NNS) -- The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) departed Plymouth, England, April 6, 2015, to continue Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) at sea.

FOST is based out of naval bases in the United Kingdom (UK), and it delivers operational training across all disciplines for the Royal Navy and other navies that wish to make use of its services.

"I saw huge improvements throughout the past two weeks. We rowed hard and we got a lot of work done. We had major improvements in all areas but we still have much to work on," said Cmdr. Charles Hampton, USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) commanding officer. "However, I am very pleased and very proud of everyone onboard. It was an all-hands effort."

During the first two weeks of FOST, Donald Cook Sailors were placed through multiple training team environments to include combat scenarios, flight operations, seamanship training team scenarios, gunnery exercises, damage control training, engineering training and a weekly war environment.

In the weekly war environment, the ship was placed in a seven hour simulated general quarters environment following a storyline of shipboard attacks from enemy forces. Sailors had to react while being assessed by the United Kingdom Royal Navy FOST and the U.S. Navy's Afloat Training Group (ATG) experts.

FOST will now resume the certification process in preparation for participation in Joint Warrior 15, a 54-nation international exercise in which Donald Cook will operate as part of a strike group.

FOST offers tailored training to meet the specific national requirements of many other navies, air forces and elements of land forces. The syllabus is framed around NATO doctrine and is aimed at delivering Royal Navy standards. It draws upon FOST's experience across an array of platforms to capture and promote best practice.

FOST's training prepares all types of surface warships, submarines and auxiliaries for peacetime, peace-support and war-fighting operations. Starting with basic alongside preparatory safety and readiness training, units progress through single threat and multi-threat scenarios to advanced tactical training at task group level.

Donald Cook's port call in Plymouth allowed Sailors to relax and recover while experiencing the local attractions such as a soccer game and a morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) guided tour to Stonehenge.

Donald Cook, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is conducting naval operations with allies and partners in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in order to advance security and stability in the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.

FLEET ACTIVITIES YOKOSUKA, Japan (NNS) -- Commander, Submarine Group (COMSUBGRU) 7 conducted bilateral talks with the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) March 31 - April 2 at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

The 41st Submarine Warfare Committee Meeting (SWCM) brought together representatives from the U.S. and ROK navies.

Rear Adm. William R. Merz, commander, Submarine Group 7, met with Rear Adm. Youn Jeong Sang (ROK Navy) to discuss planning combined exercises, training and continued development of integrated anti-submarine warfare plans. The underlying theme of the talks was expanding the alliance between the U.S. and ROK navies.

"This was a great opportunity for us to interact and coordinate with the Korean submarine force," said Merz. "Holding these talks in Hawaii enabled the Korean submarine force leadership to interact with our submarine training organizations in the Pacific and facilitated discussions of greater cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region."

Established in 1994 during the birth of the ROKN submarine fleet, the conference has evolved into a discussion between U.S. and ROKN submarine forces focused on submarine tactics, force integration, and future submarine development.

The three-day conference included a tour of the USS Arizona Memorial and focused on organizational strategies and best practices for submarine and anti-submarine warfare.

Youn is the first commander of the newly established ROKN Submarine Force Command.

'OPERATION IRON FOCUS' STORMS TEXAS AHEAD OF JADE HELM 15 AND CHRISTIAN PASTOR GIVES US THE LATEST NEWS ON THE MARTIAL LAW TAKEOVER PLAN OF AMERICA

April 7, 2015

By Stefan Stanford - All News Pipeline - Live Free Or Die

Called 'the closest thing to actual combat' for many soldiers, DAHBOO777 tells us about 'Operation Iron Focus' in the 1st video below, a live-gunfire military drill going on right now at the US/Mexico border involving 6,500 troops training to get back to the 'blocking and tackling' of war fighting, just the latest massive military drill to take place in Texas ahead of the Jade Helm 15 exercises sweeping into the state and leaving many Americans deeply concerned about a possible martial law takeover plan for America as shared in the newly released 2nd video below from Gianluca Zanna.

Zanna is joined by Christian Pastor Walt Mansfield at the 3:40 mark of the 2nd video. Pastor Mansfield originally broke FEMA's clergy response story, a story about Pastors being trained brainwash, subdue and herd their flocks into FEMA camps by FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security and in this new video, Pastor Mansfield exposes this evil and sinister martial law plan on the air for all of us to hear.

We learn here that these plans have been in place at least as far back as 2006 according to Pastor Mansfield and sadly, most pastors have fallen for FEMA's tactics and feel they are doing their duties to the government by following through on FEMA's plans, not realizing that their actions are actually putting their followers in danger as the US government gets closer and closer to declaring 'checkmate' against the American people. Fortunately, with Americans awakening en masse to the evil intentions of the 'new world order' global government behind much of the evil we are now seeing across America, Zanna and Mansfield tell us that we do still have time and we should make our voices heard loudly and clearly while we still can while preparing for the absolute worst forthcoming possibilities.

VIDEO : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsvaH588lOE

VIDEO : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFDXFwLrYp8

Will the FEMA/UN style vans seen in the 1st picture below be used to round up American as seen in the 2nd picture below, after they are rounded up en masse as seen in the 3rd picture below?

FRENCH, US NAVIES INTEGRATE UNDER OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE

Story Number: NNS150409-10Release Date: 4/9/2015 11:06:00 AM

By Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group Public Affairs

USS CARL VINSON , At Sea (NNS) -- Rear Adm. Eric Chaperon, French Task Force 473 commander, and Rear Adm. Chris Grady, Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group commander and Commander Task Force 50, met aboard French aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle (R-91) to discuss interoperability and integration between the two navies, April 8.

Charles De Gaulle and USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) have been conducting joint combat operations in the region since Feb. 22 as a part of Operation Inherent Resolve to degrade and ultimately defeat the fighting forces of terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, known as ISIS.

"We operated with the USS Harry S. Truman last year for exercises," said Chaperon. "This year it is for real combat operations. Compared to last year, we have achieved much progress in integration (with Carl Vinson), specifically in the areas of logistics, computer information systems, and intelligence."

The Charles De Gaulle and Carl Vinson strike groups fly over 100 combined total sorties a day, with Charles De Gaulle flying 15 combat sorties a day using her Super-Etendard and Rafale fighter jet aircraft. Carl Vinson flies up to 25 combat sorties a day. The balance of sorties are high-end training to sharpen pilot skills.

"It has been a great honor to work with Rear Adm. Chaperon and his team over the past six weeks," said Grady. "The highlight of our deployment thus far has been the integration with the Charles De Gaulle strike group, and we now have a model we can look to as we respond to other contingencies around the world."

Charles De Gaulle has taken on many aspects of operations during its time in the region. Its carrier strike group assumed the primary role of combat support during periods of maintenance, replenishment-at-sea, or port visit opportunities for Carl Vinson.

The French carrier will assume primary operational duty when the Carl Vinson and Theodore Roosevelt Strike Groups conduct turnover in the coming days, Chaperon said.

"The interoperability between our two navies is meaningful for the future in burden sharing and common contribution to high-intensity operations," Chaperon stated. "Our interoperability is about equipment, know-how and procedures. But it is also about common knowledge, trust, and friendship."

Grady also pointed out the many benefits of dual-carrier operations between the two navies.

"While we have very been successful in the tactical realm, the merging of the two strike groups, and the synergies that two maritime powers bring to Operation Inherent Resolve, also has immense operational and strategic benefits," he stated.

"Maritime striking power off the deck of an aircraft carrier provides our government leadership with off-shore options," Grady continued. "About a third of the tactical sorties flown in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, half of the command and control sorties and nearly all of the electronic attack sorties come from the Navy. We bring quite a punch indeed. At the outset of Operation Inherent Resolve, power projection from the sea was the only option because no permissions from partner nations are required to act from 98,000 tons and 4.5 acres of sovereign U.S. territory."

The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations, and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.

FASLANE, United Kingdom (NNS) -- Ships assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 26 pulled into Faslane, Scotland, ready to commence Exercise Joint Warrior 15-1, April 9.

DESRON 26 arrived in Faslane with guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio (CG 68) and guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78), ready to participate in Joint Warrior, a semi-annual training exercise conducted in the coastal waters off the United Kingdom.

The training, led by the United Kingdom, is designed to provide NATO and allied forces a multiwarfare environment in which to prepare for global operations. Participating countries aim to improve interoperability and prepare forces for future combined .

In addition to the exercise and the wide range of training the Sailors will undergo, the port visit will also provide Sailors the opportunity to meet the people of Faslane and to experience and explore Scottish culture and history.

"I look forward to this tremendous opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to our allied and partner nations, and to do so while operating in a challenging maritime environment," said Capt. Brian Fort, commander, DESRON 26. "It's a particularly valuable time for us to work together with NATO and our allies to practice our procedures and to operate as a coalition."

The United Kingdom's advanced naval certification course, Joint Warrior comprises numerous scheduled training scenarios, including small-boat attacks, boarding operations, air defense, antisubmarine warfare and ship maneuverability tasks.

More than 50 ships and several supporting commands from 15 countries are scheduled to take part in Joint Warrior 15-1, making the upcoming Joint Warrior the biggest in the history of the multinational exercise.

In addition to Porter and Anzio, U.S. Navy ships participating in Joint Warrior 15-1 are guided-missile cruiser USS Vicksburg (CG 69); guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75); and dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Medgar Evers (T-AKE 13). Elements from Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing (CPRW) 11 and Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48 will also participate in the exercise.

"One of the unique aspects of operating in a combined environment with our NATO partners is that we have the ability to leverage each other's skill sets and experience levels," said Cmdr. Blair Guy, Porter's commanding officer. "We're able to complement our partners and understand how best to maintain safety of the seas. We understand what our mission is, and we recognize that we're coming out here to strengthen bonds and represent the nation."

Joint Warrior is slated to last approximately two weeks. The exercise will include air, sea and ground assets from Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

From Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Environment

SANTA RITA, Guam (NNS) -- The Department of the Navy announced the completion of the Regional Biosecurity Plan (RBP) for Micronesia and Hawaii March 6.

This comprehensive plan is the first of its kind and provides a platform for interagency prevention, management and control of invasive species, such as the brown tree snake, within and into the region. The RBP provides detailed biosecurity recommendations for the State of Hawaii, United States Territory of Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia (Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei and Yap), and Republic of the Marshall Islands, Republic of Palau, and the United States Departments of Defense, Agriculture, and Interior.

"The RBP is a significant accomplishment in our fight against invasive species," said Donald Schregardus, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Environment. "We look forward to working with our partners in the Pacific to ensure the protection of sensitive island environments. The RBP arms us with the tools necessary to succeed in this endeavor."

The plan is a major milestone and is the result of years of hard work by many individuals, organizations, and government agencies.

The RBP can be accessed at http://go.usa.gov/3rG8Q or through the University of Guam's website at http://guaminsects.net/anr/content/regional-biosecurity-plan-micronesia-and….

NAVAL SUPPLY CORPS SCHOOL TESTS RESPONSE TO ACTIVE-SHOOTER-ALERT

Story Number: NNS150409-07Release Date: 4/9/2015 9:45:00 AM

By Center for Service Support Newport Public Affairs

NEWPORT, R.I. (NNS) -- U.S. Naval Station Newport security personnel conducted an active-shooter training drill inside the Naval Supply Corps School, located aboard Naval Station Newport, April 8.

Drills like these help military personnel and civilian employees understand the importance of vigilance and immediate responsiveness in the event hostile persons gain access to the base.

"We want to maximize this training opportunity for the initial responders while maintaining a safe environment for the staff and students, said Lt. Ryan Carmack, Security Officer, Naval Supply Corps School. "We provide all hands training on initial responses to an active shooter scenario, which includes defending oneself if necessary."

The exercise began early Wednesday morning when a lone man with a loaded handgun entered the Porter Avenue schoolhouse located near the main entrance gate of the Navy station. With a fake handgun the shooter shouted, "Come out! You cannot hide! I'm going to hurt you!"

Mr. Tim Doherty, a Naval Station Newport security specialist, played the role of the active-shooter wearing a military flak jacket, blue jeans, running shoes and black face mask. He walked the hallways pulling on every door, yelling and firing his pistol loaded with blanks into the air.

"We were told about the exercise in advance, but when it happened I was terrified," said Ens. Thomas Hricisak, of Orwigsburg, Pa., a student attending the Basic Qualification Course at the school. "The room went dark and we all remain silent beneath our desk listening to the screams and weapon firing. It felt very real, and when the police demanded us [students] to open the door, no one in the room would budge."

"We endeavor to add as much realism as possible to these scenarios. We notice each time we conduct these drills people's reaction to the shooter and security personnel is borderline terrifying," said Mr. Barry Spaulding, Naval Station Newport police training officer. "They honestly do not expect the level of intensity we infuse into the scenario. This level of realism is intentional so that our emergency responders, as well as command personnel get the point that this, a very bad incident, can happen and how we train to respond to such an incident directly corresponds to the level of injury or loss of life in the aftermath of an active-shooter incident."

Base security personnel responded to the active-shooter drill by entering the building in a squad formation, working collectively to maintain a 360-degree view of their approach path to the shooter's yelling. Once in their line of sight they instantly fired their weapons at the hostile, simulating wounding shots that disabled the shooter's legs sending him falling to the ground. Security officers surrounded the shooter, disarmed him, and immediately began looking for other potential hostiles in the building. Every classroom was searched, students were removed from the building by single file lines and searched one by one ensuring positive identification and their respective wellness.

"I fully support and appreciate all the planning and coordination that goes into making these important active-training scenarios successful. Naval Supply Corps School military and civilian staff as well as our students reacted professionally and according to our active-shooter/sheltering-in-place plan," said Captain Kristen B. Fabry, commanding officer, Naval Supply Corps School. "While no organization ever wants harm to come to their people, this training is necessary to ensure everyone reacts in a unified manner while responding to hostility."

Exercises like this show that Naval Station Newport is committed to providing a safe living and working environment for the city of Newport and other surrounding communities.

"This training is vital for the safety and protection of our active military and civilian employees here on board Naval Station Newport," Spaulding commented at the conclusion of the drill.

IRAN/YEMEN : LA 34e FLOTILLE DE LA MARINE IRANIENNE SORT POUR LE GOLFE D'ADEN

avr 09, 2015

DEFENSE SECRETARY SAYS US OPENING NEW PHASE OF ASIA PIVOT

TEMPE, Arizona (AP) — The Obama administration is opening a new phase of its strategic "rebalance" toward Asia and the Pacific by investing in high-end weapons such as a new long-range stealth bomber, refreshing its defense alliance with Japan and expanding trade partnerships, Defense Secretary Ash Carter said Monday.

"I am personally committed to overseeing the next phase of the rebalance, which will deepen and diversify our engagement in the region," Carter said in a speech outlining the administration's rationale for trying to devote more attention to Asia.

At a time of increasing conflict and uncertainty across the Middle East, as well as growing concern about Russian intervention in Ukraine, Carter's remarks seemed designed to convince Americans, and perhaps more importantly, the country's Asian allies, of the American commitment to the so-called Asia pivot.

His speech at Arizona State University's McCain Institute touched on themes he expects to raise on a week-long trip to Asia, his first since becoming Pentagon chief in February. He will visit Japan and South Korea for meetings with top government officials and also spend time with U.S. troops.

Carter urged Congress to give President Barack Obama authority to complete a free trade agreement known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12-nation accord that Carter said holds "enormous promise" for jobs and economic growth in the United States. He said it is expected to increase U.S. exports by $123.5 billion in the next decade.

He called the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, one of the most important parts of the administration's effort to shift more attention to Asia and the Pacific after more than a decade of focusing on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said TPP is as important to him as a new aircraft carrier.

He described the Asia-Pacific trade arrangement as an urgent priority. "Time is running out," he said, as countries in the region forge their own trade agreements without the U.S.

The Obama administration is not the first to tout the importance of building stronger relationships in Asia; the George W. Bush administration made similar arguments while expressing the same concerns about the implications of China's rapid military modernization.

Yet Bush launched the Iraq and Afghanistan wars that would consume his administration and limit his options in Asia. Obama came into office committed to ending the wars, but the rise of the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq, as well as the collapse of Yemen, has raised new obstacles.

Carter, who advocated strongly for shifting more U.S. attention to Asia when he served as the deputy secretary of defense in 2011-2013, said in his Arizona State speech that the Asia-Pacific is "the defining region for our nation's future." He rattled off numerous statistics meant to highlight the importance of Asia to America's future, including what he called an expectation that half of the world's population will live there by 2050.

Carter, who is expected to visit China later this year, said the U.S. is deeply concerned about some aspects of Beijing's increasingly assertive approach, and he said the central strategic challenge of today's generation of Americans is to assure peace and prosperity across the Asia-Pacific "as China continues to rise."

He dismissed the prediction by some that China will attain predominance over the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific or that its economic growth will squeeze out opportunities for younger Americans. He asserted that the U.S. and its Asian allies have spent more than $16 trillion on defense since the end of the Cold War in 1990, which he said is about 10 times more than the next highest spending country, China.

"I reject the zero-sum thinking that China's gain is our loss because there is another scenario in which everyone wins, and it is a continuation of the decades of peace and stability anchored by a strong American role in which all Asia-Pacific countries continue to rise and prosper," he said.

JADE HELM MASTERING THE HUMAN DOMAIN

Unread post by ArmyATC » Sat Apr 04, 2015 3:16 pm

A lot of people are trying to decode what jade Helm means. But very few are looking at the second line , which is the overall mission objective.

In combat ops there are 5 phases of combat. I'm not going to go into detail, but you can find it. But phase 0 operations are relatively new. In the NDAA 2014, if you read through it, it provides increasing the budget for phase 0 operation.

What this is. Well this has to do with using infiltration techniques to identify who will be a problem BEFORE the fighting begins. Identifying individuals and groups that would be assessed by the military as possible non state actors.

That way, they can extract these individuals before ops begin thus severely limiting organized resistance.

Word of warning, this operation is all about this. Its insidious in nature because it will cause distrust inside organizations, and if anyone shows up to protest it,well you just got added to the extraction list.

They say it's for overseas, but do you see how this is specific to where the ops will take place? I suppose they could throw away any list they obtain from this, but very unlikely.

With all that's going on, and our token responses overseas, this is what our military is spending its most training on. Very suspicious.

So heads up. Check it out. Its very hard to find info, but start with the NDAA 2014. Then search for Human Domain Specialist jobs, you will get the picture.
Every truth has two sides; it is as well to look at both, before we commit ourselves to either.

(Phase 1) - the run-up to hostilities - Deter. The intent of this phase is to deter

undesirable adversary action by demonstrating the capabilities and resolve of the joint force. It includes activities to prepare forces and set conditions for deployment and employment of forces in the event that deterrence is not successful.

(Phase 2) - the onset of military action - Seize Initiative. Joint Force Capabilities seek to seize the initiative through the application of appropriate JFC's

(Phase 3) - major combat - Dominate. The dominate phase focuses on breaking the enemy’s will for organized resistance or, in non combat situations, control of the operational environment.

(Phase 4) - "post-conflict" stabilization - Stabilize. The stabilize phase is required when there is no fully functional, legitimate civil governing authority present. The joint force may be required to perform limited local governance, integrating the efforts of other supporting/ contributing multinational, IGO, NGO, or USG department and agency participants until legitimate local entities are functioning.

(Phase 5) - the shift to civilian control - Enable Civil Authority. This phase is predominantly characterized by joint force support to legitimate civil governance in theater. The goal is for the joint force to enable the viability of the civil authority and its provision of essential services to the largest number of people in the region.

But what about the name itself - Jade Helm? I believe that the meaning is both cryptic and revealed. Jade comes from China. Helm means to be in control. But is this the complete meaning to the phrase?

From The Art of War

If we used China as the key, the great war strategist, Sun Tzu had many writings about war, including the classic, "The Art of War."

Chinese literature also has other strategic books about war including, "The 36 Stratagems of War." This work has been attributed to Sun Tzu by several Chinese scholars. It is a collection of thirty-six stratagems that are useful in war.

One of the stratagems is; Tossing out a brick to get a jade gem. It means:

Bait someone by making him believe he gains something or just make him react to it ("toss out a brick") and obtain something valuable from him in return ("get a jade gem").

Just thought a little background info would be helpful.

Every truth has two sides; it is as well to look at both, before we commit ourselves to either.

RUSSIAN TROOPS CONDUCT RESCUE EXERCISE IN THE ARTIC

( Source: Xinhua  )         2015-April-11 20:57

MOSCOW, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Russian paratroopers, along with units of the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), are carrying out a rescue drill in the Arctic region simply using skis and dog-driven sleds, the Defense Ministry said Friday.

"The paratroopers practicing a humanitarian search-and-rescue mission are riding dog sleighs heading to the North Pole," the Interfax news agency quoted the ministry as saying.

According to the ministry, the troops cover up to 80 km during a 10-hour march each day.

This is the first time ever for troops of Russia and the CSTO to conduct a humanitarian rescue drill in the near-polar region without employing any mechanical vehicles.

Russian airborne troops along with the units of the rapid response force of the CSTO landed on the Arctic Ocean ice cap earlier this week for exercises aimed at testing the troops' survival ability in extreme environment.

On Tuesday, Russian paratroopers successfully landed on a drifting ice block in the Arctic Ocean for the first time, despite adverse weather conditions and poor visibility.

Founded in May 1992 under the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Russia-led CSTO is a political-military alliance that also comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

FINNISH FM SAYS NORDIC DEFENSE COOPERATION HAS NOT CHANGED

( Source: Xinhua  )         2015-April-11 17:45

HELSINKI, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja said Friday that an announcement signed by five Nordic defense ministers did not bring any new policy lines.

Talking to media in Helsinki, Tuomioja said the announcement was in line with the policies Finland has pursued so far. He added that practical Nordic defense cooperation benefits European defense and also that of the Baltic countries.

In the letter published by Norway's largest daily Aftenposten, the defense ministers of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden pointed an accusing finger at Russia, claiming that increased Russian threat has impaired the security policy situation in areas close to the Nordic countries during the last year.

They said that although the area is still stable, the countries must prepare for crises. The ministers wrote that the Nordic countries plan to increase joint exercises, cooperation in defense material, share intelligence and prepare to counter cyber threats.

Finnish Defense Minister Carl Haglund later said the signed letter does not mean a step towards joining NATO. He also denied any connection with the Finnish parliamentary election campaign.

Tuomioja said he did not expect Russia will react to this statement. He made the comment during a joint press conference with visiting Estonian Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus.

Pentus-Rosimannus said she did not encourage excessive guesswork about Russian reactions.

Special researcher Tommi Koivula at the National Finnish Defense University said to national radio Yle that the clear reference of Russia was a new phenomenon.

"Earlier Nordic co-operation in defense has been justified through references to cost savings and through attaining a better ability to work together," Koivula noted. "The reference to Russia was now more outspoken than usual," Koivula said.

S.KOREA, U.S. TO HOLD JOINT AIR FORCE EXERCISES FOR TWO WEEKS

( Source: Xinhua  )         2015-April-11 00:35

SEOUL, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Combined forces of South Korea and the United States plan to hold the joint air force exercises for two weeks to beef up their combined defense capability, the South Korean Air Force said Friday.

The first round of"Max Thunder"drill kicks off from Friday, scheduled to run until April 24, the Air Force said in a statement.

The first round will mobilize about 100 warplanes and some 1, 400 soldiers from the two countries. The exercise is held twice a year on the Korean Peninsula to simulate air battles with enemy forces through realistic training. This year, it will be conducted three times.

Among them would be some 550 South Korean soldiers and 50 fighter jets, including F-15K, KF-16, F-4E, F-5, C-130 and E-737. The country-developed FA-50 light attack warplane would join the drill for the first time.

The U.S. Air Force will mobilize some 850 troops and 50 fighter jets, including F-16, F-15, FA-18 and EA-18 as well as AWACS, or an early warning aircraft.

The air simulation exercise would come as part of the ongoing" Foal Eagle"field training exercise, which kicked off on March 2 and would last until April 24.

The"Key Resolve"command post exercise, the other part of joint annual war games between Washington and Seoul, ended on March 13.

NATO CONDUCTS EXERCISES IN CZECH REPUBLIC

PRAGUE, April 9 (Xinhua) -- A NATO exercise called Nobel Jump was held in the town of Chrudim in the Czech Republic, it was reported Thursday.

"The exercise is designed to examine the activation, planning to deploy some functionality and command, control and support that are needed to drive to go out and perform tasks as ordered," Czech Deputy Chief of Staff Jiri Baloun was quoted as saying.

Miroslav Hlavac, commander of the Rapid Deployment Brigade, said that the exercise involves more than 200 soldiers and 80 pieces of military equipment.

Some 150 Czech soldiers from the 43rd Parachute Battalion joined the NATO exercise. A similar exercise was held in the Netherlands at an air base in Eindhoven at the same time.

The training is the first part of Exercise Noble Jump, the second part will continue in June in Zagan in western Poland. There will be a simulated crisis to test the capacity of the deployment of allied troops from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and the Czech Republic.

The creation of a rapid deployment force to the Alliance members was agreed last September.

UKRAINE TO SIGN NEW COOPERATION AGREEMENTS WITH NATO : PM

( Source: Xinhua  )         2015-April-8 22:47

KIEV, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk said Wednesday that his country will sign two new agreements in the near future with NATO to boost cooperation.

"The government will sign cooperation agreements with NATO in the field of support," Yatsenyuk told a Cabinet meeting.

Yatsenyuk said that one deal envisages implementation of four joint projects between Ukraine and the military alliance in military-technical sphere, communications and information technologies.

Besides, a separate agreement would be signed to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the framework of NATO's Partnership for Peace Program, Yatsenyuk said.

He disclosed that the deal would be inked between the Ukrainian government and NATO Communications and Information Agency and would cover cooperation in issues relating to security management, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

Although Ukraine is not a member of NATO, it closely cooperates with the alliance and has actively participated in NATO's Partnership for Peace program since 1991.

Amid a crisis in eastern Ukraine, where government troops fight independence-seeking insurgents, Kiev has canceled its non-aligned status and announced intention to approach the alliance.
The move has drawn strong criticism from Russia, which called Kiev's NATO bid a "provocation."

Did anyone else question why an applicant would have to walk up to 18 miles in a day, or be able to ride in a vehicle for up to 12 hours in a 24 hour period?  What could one be possibly walking up to 18 miles towards?

Why would an applicant have to be eligible for a top secret security clearance for a part-time job that only pays $14.00 per hour? It is obvious that the DoD does not want anyone leaking what Jade Helm 15 is really all about.

Bataan Death March.

This put me in the mind of the Bataan Death March of WW II in which the Japanese soldiers conducted a brutal forced march of nearly 70 miles for American POW’s captured after the fall of the Philippines. During the march, the Japanese murdered thousands of American soldiers.

What kind of horrific event awaited the Bataan Death March after Japanese death squads had exacted a frightening toll of murdering and maiming American soldiers? Here is the answer to this question.

The Concentration Camp known as Camp O’Donnell.

What is the difference between Camp O’Donnell and Camp Grayling, MI.?
http://www.thecommonsenseshow.com/siteupload/2015/04/garling-mi-fema-camp.j…
This FEMA camp facility in Grayling, MI., is the sight of martial law training for the Michigan National guard commencing on July 15, the inception date for Jade Helm. This facility also houses hundreds of UN military vehicles according to local eye witnesses who have contacted The Common Sense Show with information related to eyewitness accounts.

It is obvious that the above-listed job description is to train personnel to transport dissident detainees to a FEMA camp. Why else would an applicant have to be able to walk up to 18 miles in a day and be able to obtain a security clearance from the Department of Defense?

“Ambulance” Contracts Will Deport Americans to FEMA Camps, but There Aren’t Enough Ambulances

As previously reported on The Common Sense Show, I have found evidence supporting these claims in a federal document entitled  Emergency Support Function #8 (ESF #8) – Public Health and Medical Services Annex

This document can be accessed by Googling “ESF #8″ and you will arrive at the following listing and a PDF will appear.
Citation:

[PDF]Emergency Support Function #8 – Public Health and Medical
www.fema.gov/…/emergency_s…

Federal Emergency Management Agency

Medical Services include responding to medical needs associated with mental health, ….. assistance are executed by ESF #8 in coordination with DHS/FEMA. … primarily for communications, aircraft, and the establishment of base camps.

ESF #8 established the national ambulance contract, which is designed to provide support for evacuating seriously ill or injured patients.

HHS will enlist the VA and Department of Defense assets (e.g. the military) in support of providing “transportation assets, operating and staffing NDMS Federal Coordination Centers, and processing and tracking patient movements from collection points to their final destination reception facilities” (emphasis added).

It is obvious that, last summer that, under the cover of the Ebola scare, President Obama directed HHS to set up quarantine camps (i.e. FEMA camps). However, if one’s goal is transport tens of millions of Americans to these FEMA camps, there might not be enough “ambulances” needed to transport the bulk of detainees by motor vehicle. Hence, one would have to walk them to a detention facility. Subsequently, we now see the need for the position advertised above. Many if not most dissidents headed to FEMA camps will have to be marched to their final destination.

When 800 FEMA Camps Are Not Enough

There are an estimated 800 FEMA camps inside the United States. That is not enough to hold tens of millions of Americans. So, where would the dissidents be marched to?

In September of 2011, Simon Properties, the largest owners of malls in North America inked a deal with DHS to allow their malls to be used as detention centers in times of “national emergency”.

When the DoD runs out of FEMA camp space, there are always the malls.

And when the DoD runs out of mall space, there are always the stadiums and the arenas of the professional sports leagues in America who made the same agreement with DHS as did Simon Properties. We first witnessed this during Hurricane Katrina.

On September 23, 2011, the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA conducted a disaster drill in Denver, Colorado that they called Operation Mountain Guardian. The plan was all-inclusive and basically shut down the Denver metropolitan area including Denver International Airport, many malls, many schools and several other public venues including Sports Authority Field where the Denver Broncos play professional football. Why didn’t this event put people in the streets by the tens of thousands? To rub salt in the wound a similar drill was conducted at Giants Stadium in New York in the same year.

Conclusion

The pieces of Jade Helm are falling into place. Previous articles have documented the enforcement of dissident extraction exercises. This article establishes the fact that the government is hiring people who can walk up to 18 miles per day and work part-time for the DoD while transporting Americans to makeshift FEMA camps. Why part-time? Because the position terminates when the detainees reach their final destination.

Who and what will be in charge of the forced relocations of tens of millions of Americans will be the subject of the next  article in this series.

CONCEPT TO COMPLETION : LASER WEAPON SYSTEM BEGINS WITH EINSTEIN'S DEDUCTION

When it comes to cutting-edge technology, the U.S. Navy is often the one sharpening the tip of the spear. The Navy League’s Sea Air Space Exposition begins April 13, a meeting of the greatest minds among the United States’ defense industrial base, private-sector contractors and key Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. It also celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Navy innovations were developed from the nugget of an idea to fruition on the deckplate of a ship or cockpit of a plane and in many cases that developmental phase it is perhaps the most interesting part of the story.

Here are just a few of the ideas that have developed over the past five decades.

So what do CD players (remember them?), those beeping checkout scanners, and a machine in an eye doctor’s office that can bring vision into focus have in common with one of the Navy’s innovative weapon systems?

They all came from Albert Einstein’s deduction about “stimulated emission.” Now if that sounds a bit R-rated, it is, if you meant Radiation.

Back in 1916, it was Einstein who determined electromagnetic waves had the ability to stimulate excited atoms. Now, in case you are wondering just how atoms can become “excited,” that simply means the state of an atom when it produces energy higher than a sloth in a tree, or the absolute minimum.

Apparently when electromagnetic waves tickle the fancy of atoms or molecules, they send out their own microwaves. By the 1950s, scientists could place a bunch of excited molecules in a contained area and then once stimulated, the molecules would interact with other molecules in the contained area with them to amplify the amount of radiation emitted – sort of like a rave, without the radiation.

It was around that rather simplified explanation that scientists and researchers first created the maser: microwave amplification by stimulated emission of radiation, thanks in part to an investment by the Office of Naval Research. In 1953, Charles H. Townes of Columbia University built the first working maser.

ONR sponsored the first International Conference on Quantum Electronics in 1959 at the Sha-wan-ga Lodge in the Catskills of New York. Townes, who by then picked up a summer job working at the Institute for Defense Analyses, played host for three days to more than 160 laser physicist-inventors (imagine the level of casual, after-hours conversation at that conference) to brainstorm its use and future. While most of the conference topics involved the maser, a new technology using visible light spectra instead of microwaves was the stuff of water-cooler chatter. Townes had already experimented with the process he called the optical maser.

Gordon Gould wrote a paper in 1959: The LASER, Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, which introduced the term laser into the scientific vernacular. Using Gould’s blueprints from his paper, the first laser was built in 1960 by Theodore Maiman at Hughes Research Laboratory. In 1964, Townes shared the Noble Prize in physics for his work on masers and lasers.

With continued ONR backing, laser technology, featuring its sharp and uniform radiating wavelength, is used for myriad naval maritime defenses. Among those is the prototype Laser Weapon System (LaWS), a collaborative effort between ONR, Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Research Laboratory, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division and other industry partners.

During operational demonstrations in late 2014 onboard a deployed USS Ponce (AFSB(1) 15), LaWS operated seamlessly with existing ship defense systems. The laser hit and stopped targets that ranged from an unmanned aerial vehicle to a speeding small boat, both possible threats to ships at sea.

According to an ONR release, the system is operated by a video game-like controller and uses a range of escalating options from non-lethal measures, such as optical “dazzling” and disabling, to lethal destruction of asymmetric threats, which includes small attack boats and UAVs.

Katie Woodard operate the Office of Naval Research (ONR)-sponsored Laser Weapon System (LaWS) installed aboard the Afloat Forward Staging Base (Interim) USS Ponce (ASB(I) 15) during an operational demonstration in the Arabian Gulf. Directed energy weapons can counter asymmetric threats, including unmanned and light aircraft and small attack boats. (U.S. Navy photo by John F. Williams/Released)

Data gathered during the weapon’s experimental test phase will guide the development of similar weapons under ONR’s Solid-State Laser-Technology Maturation program, which will develop combat-ready laser prototypes that could be installed on vessels such as guided-missile destroyers and littoral combat ships by the early 2020s, the release noted. The program will also aid airborne and ground-based weapon systems.

Another benefit for the Sailor is increased safety, since lasers run on electricity and do not need traditional propellant and gunpowder-based ordnance found on ships today. They also cost less to build, install and fire than traditional kinetic weapons.

And all because Einstein could tickle an atom.
